Even though I have a digital Leica Q2, my analog Leica M-A is my primary weapon now. Of course, Q2’s image quality is beast, but M-A always gives me challenges in every situation. Sometimes I make the wrong focus, or the over / under exposure, but these ‘mistakes’ also give unique gems.

I was like “yeah cool, you’re happy with your camera. Great.” and then after seeing the moments you captured with it I’m watching with eyes wide open hahaha so good! I’m more inspired by discussions and other photographers. Perhaps because I haven’t come across a gear that inspires me yet?

I am using my Bronica SQ right now after a year break. Try to push myself to use this small brick with my commercial work and it's really work. Sometimes you need a break. Thinking about your camera. Cause it is more light weight and more portable. I am work often with sport so less weight it's important for me. Cool video btw
@geneyoon112 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely one of the things I like most about my camera is how portable and light it is relative to other 6x7 medium format cameras. Thanks for the kind words too!

Nice video. For me, the best thing about the Mamiya7 is its size and weight. I travel and hike a lot, so it's great to have a 6x7 camera in such a compact form.

Well done, mamiya 7 images have a quality that make images shine with soul, a word that doesn't come up in photography, though we take photos of scene/view because of how it makes us feel.
@Caballeroshot Жыл бұрын
Equipment "feel" is so important for me, especially shutter sound. I shoot film because of its tactile involvement in the process of loading and developing, adjustment etc which is why I can't shoot a camera like this one or a leica for that matter. The cost mainly is a deterrent but what irritates me the most is that dull uninspiring metal "Clink" sound of the shutter. I need to feel the camera working to capture the image and for me the Mamiya 6/7, leaf shutter cameras etc just feel so dull at every shutter actuation. That's just me personally and you prove how equipment matters with the unbelievably beautiful images you captured!

Hi, Is it worth buying the Mamiya 7 II + 80mm f/4 £3500-£3800? User says it is immaculate. Is it too risky to buy as they are old. User says he bought it new in 2003. Is this camera recommended for portraits and travel?
@geneyoon11 Жыл бұрын
Hard to say since I've never shot on the version 2. It's great for travel, but it's not necessarily known to be a camera for portraits.

I am literally going through now what you went through 2 years ago. Not feeling inspired by my digital work. Went out and shot a roll of film and feel rejuvenated again. So much that I went online 2 weeks ago to pick up the Mamiya 7. Excited for this next chapter of film photography in my life. Also, just wondering...how do you get those film stock borders on your images? Thanks and great video.
