I now start paying attention to the Fujifilm’s X pro series after viewing your video which is refreshing and informative. I started shooting film camera in 1965, and extremely reluctantly switched to my first DSLR in 2004. I will look into the X pro series now. Thank you for your video.

It is a fantastic camera, the only "missing" feature is non-fly-by-wire MF, which applies to all the X-Series cameras. I do have a couple of X-mount lenses by Meike, which are not bad at all, and give a better manual focus experience than the XF lenses ( because they focus mechanically & have hard stops ). What I can say is that XPro2 was my favourite camera ever, and now it's XPro3... which compared to an XPro2 is like an Intel i7 processor compared to an Intel i3. There are one or two minor things that can still be improved, but I completely share your enthusiasm. Lastly, I would say the camera doesn't grab you straight away ; it grows on you with time and use in a subtle way.

Just wanted to say, this video is what got me to pull the trigger on an X-Pro3. I have an A7ii and I've intentionally ignored most new mirrorless camera releases because I knew I had a solid camera and didn't want to obsess over gear. I have friends that talked up the X-Pro but didn't fully get it. I had NO IDEA that the viewfinder was this cool until a friend said something about it in passing a month ago. Then I found this video and my mind was BLOWN. It seems like it's the exact digital shooting experience I've been looking for, and it's in the mail right now. Anyway, thanks for making this.

The very best X-Po3 review on KZbin, by a long long margin. Congratulations 🎉 👏👏. And thank you so much. As for the camera itself, the only thing I think Fuji got wrong was to add that display on the back. It’s useless and adds nothing. Without that, to me at least, the camera would have been perfect. With it, I’d say 98%. Thanks again. Caula

The next XPRO is easy to design. This one, same color scheme, because this is for me the Fuji Look, but with 40mp resolution and an optional crop-zoom like in the Q Leicas… I definitely would buy one. Meanwhile I also test an M6 but I yet don’t see the advantage. I can set up my XPRO2 in a way that it works very similar… 😮….ok xpro is not a true rangefinder…. but maybe this is why I like this camera so much…..

I dont think thats a screen that pops up, i think that's a "flag". Meaning its there to block light so the preview shows up as non transparent. As all the framelines etc are projected via a beam splitter and show up as transparent. This is why also in the EV mode the whole view is blocked.
@Nobody-Nowhere3 жыл бұрын
So it has only one screen, its the same screen that is projected and either partially blocked or fully blocked to show the EV or the corner screen. Or just the framelines in autofocus mode.
@llr3zall1513 жыл бұрын
It is not a "rangefinder"! It has no "rangefinder" mechanism inside. It is a direct optical viewfinder with digital overlay.
@innerspatial3 жыл бұрын
X-Pro3 has an electronic rangefinder mechanism. That's the Dual Display function controlled with the Viewfinder Selector lever. What it doesn't have is a coupled optical rangefinder such as found in Leica M cameras.
@llr3zall1513 жыл бұрын
@@innerspatial Yes, Fujifilm likes to call that small ERF an electronic "rangefinder" but it is only a small EVF. The x-pro is not really made to be used with manual focus lenses and that small ERF does not do much due to parallax issues especially with vintage/manual glass. It is only useful with their autofocus lenses. A rangefinder is a much more complex mechanical component that is physically connected to the lens and viewfinder.

X-pro 3 actually missing magnifier optics and arm to make OVF more usable.If you want to get film camera feeling and more important image look you have to get x-pro 1.ISO dial is 5 years old feature and xpro-3 (and previous two models) is up there with any other professional camera.

Awesome information , I just started to play with a Canon AE1 and I love it because how small and practical they are, I might consider this Fujifilm X-Pro 3.
@firstnamelastname99553 жыл бұрын
Look into adapting your Canon FD lenses for the Fuji X mount. I use a Metabones speedbooster with FD lenses and it totally completes the film feel. You can buy cheap adapters for ~$20 as well, but they don't offer the same advantages as the speedbooster, which redirects an entire stop of light into the lens, as well aa effectively reducing the crop factor by providing a larger field of view over the camera's sensor. Seriously look into it. You can buy cheaper glass at f/2.8 and it becomes a "full frame" 2.0. You get smooth manual focus, distance scales, better build quality, and all-around faster lenses (due to an extrs stop of light) for less than what it would cost if it were an actual Fuji lens. The onky caveat is that the lenses are manual focus, but... as you know, the focus throw is amazing on these lenses (beats focus-by-wire) and the camera has multiple focus assist tools as well as being able to zoom in and check focus in real-time (which I always use for portraits to make sure the eyes are tack-sharp).

Film simulation is useful as a quick preview to see, e.g., would the scene look good in high contrast B&W. But this model's flip down screen makes that difficult if not pointless. 2) Difficult to see subtle differences on some sims on a small screen. Better to adjust the RAW (sim only affects JPEGs) using the included software on a big screen. 3) The sims are limited to Fujifilm own films, so e.g. no Portra sim.
