This kind of review and explanation on Fujifilm products is most welcomed and useful. Thanks and please continue down this path, Fujifilm is great but difficult to understand for newcomers like myself due to their many Pro features.

Thank you. You explained everything. I now understand how it works. It looks like the ovf is really optimized for short length primes around the 35mm (ff eq) focal lengths so you get the most out of it visually.
@reviewerorg8040 Жыл бұрын
you are the only channel who explained/visualized the EVF and OVF at such detail. Other channels are just like shit talking about their "feels", "thoughts" about the camera. What a shame you only got 1.5k subs and they got millions.

Nice work, well done. Very useful. It seems that for fixed prime lenses the optical finder is fine but for travel zooms the EV is the choice.

I'm considering buying the Xpro3 and your video was very helpful! I really like the analog viewfinders and this camera seems to bridge the gap between the worlds of film and digital.

I wonder why Fuji abandoned the magnification in the optical viewfinder (OVF) that was one of the key features of the X-Pro1 and X-Pro2. The magnification switches automatically when you switch from wideangle lenses to normal and tele lenses. It makes the framing and the art of composing easier and more pleasant when using the OVF. The X-Pro 1 and 2 is optimizes for the 18 - 60 mm range where as the X-Pro3 obviously is optimized for 18 - 35 mm only. If you plan to use longer lenses or zoom lenses, I would suggest you go for the XT models with EVF only.

There seems to be a slight difference between the OVF and EVF framelines (composition), not too much, but it doesn't seem to be exactly the same frame between the two. The EVF seems to be wider than the OVF, can you confirm this ?
@HarmeetGabha3 жыл бұрын
Yes there is slight difference. I would say it should be used more as a guide than anything else.
@thomashutin11163 жыл бұрын
@@HarmeetGabha Indeed, this is clearly one of the two strong points of the X-Pro3 series, the rangefinder style and the possibility to shoot with the OVF

is it normal in evf of xp3 when switching from light to dark or the opposite it takes 1 or 2 or even more seconds to adapt to the light so just after switching the evf is white or dark?

I've heard that the physical borders of the frame are pretty accurate when using 18mm (27mm) lens. Is that true? It is important to me as I am primarily interested in that focal length
@HarmeetGabha3 жыл бұрын
Well I didn't use an 18mm prime but with the 18-135mm zoom the border of the frame may be wider than the ovf frame itself as the frame guide in the ovf disappears. I don't have the xpro3 any more so I cannot check for you.

I prefer evf but with prime lens ovf can be very handy.
@Nunez873 жыл бұрын
You can see what happens outside your frame so you can predict and capture it more succesfully than if looking straight through the lens. You're not meant to be using zooms with a rangefinder(style) camera. It defeats the purpose of them. The OVF is fantastic for event, portrait and street photography as well as most stills. Again Zooms were never the intended purpose of these cameras. For that use the EVF at least.
@janvirtanen91108 ай бұрын
I used to learn street photography on film leica and the viewfinder was actually big benefit, you always saw image on time of exposure and could anticipate things moving into 35mm framelines.. And the camera had almost zero lag feel. Which made it good tool to learn street photography.

Thank you! What was fuji thinking , on zoom you cant see your composition T all!
@HarmeetGabha3 жыл бұрын
Indeed but i think its designed for specific group of users who won't use Zoom Lens, especially not such a long lens like the XF 18-135mm
@muquietto37643 жыл бұрын
@@HarmeetGabha probably true, even then, it shows a certain lack of attention to detail that annoys me personall ( I mean, I'm pretty sure they could've made a fullframe a bit bigger or an addon such as the leica 135 has that'd solve the problem) y. Yet I do appreciate the ovf technology, as ovf allows the shooter to prepare the shot in a way dslr and mirrorles dont.

OFV on xpro-3 is degradation of the xpro line.I would recommend xpro-2 or xpro-1 for OVF experiance since xpro-3 OVF is gimmick.The smaller frame is consequence of having fixed magnification on xpro-3 which does not allow you to use anything wider then 23 and longer then 50mm.
@HarmeetGabha3 жыл бұрын
Never used the x-pro2 so cannot compare.
@llr3zall1514 жыл бұрын
Using a zoom lens on the x-pro 3 is kinda like going grocery shopping with your 2 seat coupe... You obviously can, but its not really made for that is it!? The only lenses that are made for the x-pro 3 OVF are 23mm-35mm. THATS IT! Same story with any camera with a direct viewfinder #Leica
@HarmeetGabha4 жыл бұрын
Not sure Fujifilm advertise the X-PRO3 as a prime only camera.. But I agree it's mostly used by Street Photographers who use Primes. As far as their product goes its designed for any interchangeable lens. Not limited to interchangeable primes only. During my time using X-PRO3 I used the zoom lens on it for a few days straight and had no issues when using the EVF. OVF was not very useful in this case but that's why this camera has both options. Never used a Lieca so can't comment on that.
@llr3zall1514 жыл бұрын
Harmeet Gabha They advertised the camera as a “Pure Photography” camera. Which kind of makes sense, but then there is so much tech in this camera! Imo, a “Pure Photgraphy” camera needs to be a LOT more basic than the x-pro3. A Leica M is a good example, or the new Pixii camera, which is even more simple, and non of those cameras have an EVF, an autofocus system or articulating screens! You HAVE to use a prime! Thats is what being “Pure” is all about! Again, this is my subjective take on the matter. But I have to say, I am planning on buying an x-pro3!!! It does have some things no camera has! There could be a very intersting and profitable market for this camera if it was made with the right user in mind, not ALL the users!!! Lol
@angelamartin83394 жыл бұрын
The x-Pro3 has an ever so you can use zoom lenses if you want. I am an x-pro3 owner and I don’t use zoom lenses very often, but I can do anything I want to with this camera. It is very capable.
