Any mission that relies on your opponent not surrendering is so annoying. I won over 20 games once without getting the deal 15k damage daily task because every opponent would scoop before I actually got damage off in the battle phase. The rewards for not scooping are so low it makes sense, but its just frustrating, especially when you are 3 seconds off from winning.

After winning about 20 games I only had one point of progress towards “otk 5 times” because my opponents would always scoop when I entered the battle phase with lethal on board…one time I had lethal and thought I clicked battle phase but hadn’t yet and accidentally activated an extra monster effect on field when I meant to attack and they scooped immediately and I was so bummed. They definitely need to discourage surrendering more, it ruins half the challenges

I think if a player surrenders at end of Main 1 or in Battle Phase it should notify the other player that they have won, but allow them to continue the battle phase and for mission progress, and if they win via a special win condition in battle that should be the victory condition that counts.

The scooper doesnt have to sit around for your solitaire to finish when they know it's the end for them, and you're able to complete what you set out for too. It's a win-win for all. The way the game is designed atm, people are just punished by the surrender button for no reason.

I remember trying to get the deck out mission finished with Mayakashi mill early on in MD. I ate a bunch of ashes and unplayable hands but there were plenty of cases where I tried my best to resolve everything fast because it did take away because of how long MD's chain animation is and people would scoop on the last mill. Yep. Tmw the real big brain move during the bot infestation wasn't to grind easy diamond border like many noobs did, but to grind otk alt win cons for tasks. I was close to finishing deckout when end of season reset happened and then the bots were all gone shortly after that. Been trying to finish vs real opponents and it made me prefer playing vs bots, that's how sad real people are. Still haven't completed it; all of em scoop at the final mill.

I'm in Gold 5 now and I decided to knock out the Exodia mission at the beginning of the season because of the low stakes, and I was actually really surprised at the number of people letting me actually do it. I played the RML-Bamboo Sword version that Dzeeff made a video on, and while it's wildly inconsistent (took me like 50 games to actually win 10), only 2 people scooped when they realized what I was on.

I myself try to be the decentest person and not take too long, because I know that other Aroma players can take forever. I REALLY do like the idea of if they disconnect then an AI takes their place. We need to get this idea to Konami. As for surrendering, personally, I never surrender because a lot of the time my opponent might surrender because they had a bad hand/don't think they can win. It's things like this that make the game fun while also showing why it really isn't fun. So many requirements that all end up failing just because your opponent surrenders. If that surrender button had a cooldown or if a bot replaces the person that surrendered, leaving the other to finish his combo he's been working days on to perfect, it would be so much better.

Iirc, there is a lifetime mission for damage inflicted from opponent's monster attacking, but it might be a low requirement. I generally don't scoop unless the opponent is deliberately prolonging a duel just to piss me off although I totally will play interference - just because I know the pain doesn't mean I'll stand around and take a long ass combo. Most of the time, I will just wreck Exodia decks with a negate or 2, but I did go through the long wait of someone nearly milling their entire deck to get Exodia.

There is it requires you to deal 10K and 40K damage from reflected attacks but doing so is only for gems and no titles sadly! I did it pretty early on by playing some Defense OTK deck since you can easily deal 10Kish if your opponent happens to attack your set Stone Statue of the Aztecs and boosting it up with D Shield, Stronghold Guardian, and Rise to Full Height. Best case scenario you have a 17000 def monster. Most common scenario they pop your set monster and swing for game.

It's annoying how difficult achieving those conditions are when less than 10% of the playerbase is willing to let you complete your mission by simply not scooping, and this is on top of the fact that alt win cons and FTKs are generally inconsistent in the first place and easily shut down by hand traps etc.

Most people scoop the moment they realise what you're attempting and they have no way out of it. This is coming from my own experience attempting trickstars burn ftk for the ftk title, and it's nothing less than frustrating getting scooped on while your final chain is resolving on the rare occasion that you managed to pop off without interruptions

I always try not to scoop but when I got nothing and my opponent is off playing solitaire by himself for 10 minutes I can't waste so much time or when they have lethal and I have no cards and they start solitairing again I'd much rather be in the next duel.

Hey, respect for Lekunga, the unexpected extender Harr on my field, with Loptr at his side, opponent summoned Library and start activating Toons, swords and whatever draw available... Months later: Isolde feat Cyber Stein burn but Ghost ogre my hand Why would I negate / banish or just scoop the satisfaction of a clean duel? I prefer to be FTK than see yet another field of Half & friends, Swordsoul with their best monster DPE or 3 floodgates monke flipped at once, I will scoop all day to those fields in spite that if I can't play, at least they can't complete their daily of 15k dmg
