few days ago built my brothers first actual gaming desktop coming from laptops pretty much his whole life. the one he ended up deciding on and was a breeze to build in is called the Aqua 7 by Okinos. it kinda has that lian li look with the side and front glass with the intake fans on the back side. but same with this case it has vents along the bottom and fans under the gpu on the bottom of the chasis. 80$ for that case with 6 preinstalled 120mm argb fans it was a hell of a deal. highly rec doing a video on it for people who want alot for not much at all

The sideways PSU is a good addition for Lian Li as a core problem I have faced is wire management which is worse is smaller cases. I use a O-11 D evo and with a couple drives and loads of fans, wiring is still a cluster-mess, and If i need to change/add 1 cable it's a pain to get to the psu. I got tired of psu cabling so much I switched to a sfx psu just to have more room, which does sacrifice bigger gauged wires. Having that bottom mesh panel easily removable with a couple thumb screws is a good move because it makes it still easy to switch the psu off, unlike some other cases i've seen.

15:00 Isn't the PCIe slot unusually low on that particular motherboard? To me it definitely looks like it and I've seen 2 people install some thicker 4080s in this case and be able to use the support bracket just fine. Think it's more a compatibility issue with motherboards with low sitting PCIe slot than it is an issue with thick gpus.
@MAPLLIAJI
@MAPLLIAJI 3 ай бұрын
yup. it is lower than it normally would be. it's because there is an m.2 slot directly above it. I have the same thing on my X570S Unify X-Max, your GPU will be sitting kinda in the middle of pci slots array in your case.

This case is perfect for a Micro atx build with a bit of room on the desk or below. Used up 6 of these now for customer builds and it was a breeze to work in. Definitely use a modular PSU for a really clean build but semi works too. You don't need the SSD's in this unless you are storing a lot of stuff, get a good MB with 3 or more NVME slots and your good to go, and the prices for NVME are nearly identical. This is a great design for minimalists without sacrificing cooling or upgrade-ability .

I agree, but I also think it's a good option to have for those that need them. I got some extended family I'll hopefully be building for next year, they got two cats and let me tell you the place is shed city. The desk with the cubby hole is okay, but having the filter ontop will prevent a lot of things from settling down inside. Block off the unused pcie slots with tape, probably tape and paper off a couple other spots like the bottom and call it good. Unlike with my bedroom that I don't let my cat into, but that little shit is a sneaky opportunist, I don't really clean out my desktop since there's basically nothing to clean. Maybe a bit of dust on top, blow out the front mesh if I'm that bored? Extended family though, cleaning will probably be a bi-monthly thing, and I'm going to have to be a real blowhard (huehue) about him keeping that schedule.

2.5" SSDs don't need to be mounted anywhere - just put them wherever they will fit. Most of mine are wedged in among the cables and are still only 30C, just 3 degrees warmer than the one in the proper mount. They have no moving parts so they don't need to be treated like HDDs. As long as you can hide them somewhere, you're only limited by the number of SATA cables.

I kinda wish they made that lower fan mount adjustable so i could lower it down and put the fans above it instead of below it. IMO cases that allow pure bottom to top air flow seem to perform much better then the normal front to back/top airflow. My current case has no front or rear fan. Just 2 intakes on the bottom and 2 exhausts on the top and it runs cooler and the GPU fans seem to not ramp up as much or as fast as they used to.

They already have the LIAN LI O11 AIR MINI which I like a lot and this one is not bad but small cases are made for desk top and neither come with their I/O in the bottom front. If they made it .75" wider like the 216 they could have fit a 160mm fan in it and made more room in the rear side.

Its nice that they replaced the harddrive bay by the PSU, but then it now requires a "extension" cable for the PSU to be plugged in, and if that cables dead then the whole case needs to be replaced(?) which is a bit of a hassle

@angeldelvax7219 3 ай бұрын
I think that the PSU power connector is just an oversight. Everywhere where they have 240v 16A breakers allow for well over 3000W, So this is only a restriction if you have to run your PSU off of 110v / 120v. If I designed something that wouldn't be something I'd think of either.

I use a Worx 3/8" Ai Drill WX178L, I might try that little one. And I have a Grey Lian Li O11D-Evo built reversed, with a 5900X, Aorus X570 Master, 32 GB 4400Mhz DDR4, a Zotac RTX 4070 Ti Super, with 16TB of storage.

Funny how the gage of the power cable is a thing to be concerned that much about in America. It puts things in perspective for me being from Denmark. That cable in this case would be more than thick enough even for a 1500W PSU here 😅

9:47 Uhh, can you even screw in the PSU correctly? And does the extension cable fit considering you need to add the mesh panel.

19:50 I disagree, 2 spots for 2.5" or 3.5" drives are plenty for a case made in 2024. m.2 ssds, both nvme and sata are the same price as 2.5" sata ssd. so if you buy new, buy nvme ssd, if you take from previous build, 2 is enough.

Me with a case that has 4 spots for drives 😁 Although, I only have 3 internal drives... 1 NVMe and 2 SSDs, with 1 external HDD. 😎

Many older or budget motherboards only have one m.2 slot, so when it comes to expansion and you don't want to spend hours reinstalling all your stuff or replacing the board, good old SATA is still the way to go. They probably could have put a 2.5" mount on the space just above the PSU or make a proper drive cage for two 2.5" drives while leaving space for the fans.

@@BrunoGeneva the cheapest A620 motherboard I found, ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2 has place for 2 m.2, if you buy new, buy m.2, if you buy used and are on a budget, case is the last place to spend money on, get something used.

Wow, they give you a plastic organizer even in a sub $100 affordable case and not just tiny plastic bags stuffed into a basic cardboard box -cough corsair-. I have the exact same worx screwdriver, it has worked well for what it is as well as how affordable it is.

I'm not even a dad, but with how I'm built, I gotta rock the cargo shorts in summer times, only because I couldn't keep finding pants that fight my tall height + my expanding waist size as I couldn't keep myself in shape when small injuries started adding up over the years xD

edge power supply is a nice fit & def helps with routing/cable space issues, but a us$130 minimum power supply would be heavily cutting into this case's price advantage. i could spend the same money on an $80 power supply and a $130 case.

I do like Lian Li products and for a sub-£100 case, it's great... I wanna see the Lian Li 217 with its wood accent pieces, I'm thinking of getting a case with wood and so far the Antec Flux Pro is ticking all the boxes, especially with the temp display.

At least with a thick GPU (4080 Super Aero here) you can just place a small rubber block in between the power supply shroud and the GPU. Small gap to deal with. In my 4000D, I had to buy a threaded GPU support stand off Amazon. Also, maybe 375mm is accounting for a front radiator, which some people prefer?
