I met Dirt. He was a good kitty - came up to the group of us tourists and demanded his due. We were all happy to comply and give him pets, despite his amazingly dirty fur.

@@VollstreckerLionheart-yu1fy - Dirt was a nice surprise, and by that point was popular enough he had merch, but we went to the Train Museum because it was a cool bit of local color. There are train rides, not just a tour, and to be honest, Ely (pron. ee-lee, apparently) is the nearest place to Great Basin you can buy groceries.

Reminds me of a stray black cat I met in a garage in Cyprus, I was over there for a month in 2017 and the garage owner said he's been here for couple months and is always there when he opens up in the morning then clocks off 2 hours before closing😂 cat was never really given a name so I called him diesel since he was a black cat that like to be in the garage it seemed right and took the name quite quickly, would also respond to commands and hand gestures like a well trained dog would which took me buy suprise and would also fetch tools aswell I only have one photo of him lying on my chest while I was turning a daihatsu 4 trek engine round by the crank trying to get my attention 😂

Kinda surprised he made it 15 years. I’m sure that like all cats, he licked himself trying to get clean. Being covered with whatever was on the floor and in the air, I would imagine it wasn’t the greatest stuff to be ingesting. He must have been a pretty tough kitty cat, and apparently loved being there, and was loved. Sorry about his passing .
