This seems great. About the “cryptic” flashing leds to show the tempo. If you hold down the metronome button the tempo is shown on the numbers buttons. They flash in order. So you don’t need to open the op-z app.

Tha is for sharing! I got a second hand OPZ last week as I really love the PE Tracker, but it’s not as easy to just take for a walk or commute. My biggest gripe with the OP-Z though has been getting stuff off the thing. I want to mainly use it for MIDI actually, I think the built in synth sounds are horrible, but the sampler stuff is fine. I’m looking at it as a portable midi sequencer with placeholder sounds built in, but yeah I should prob see if there’s a good ableton workflow or template to make it easier and not a chore to actually utilise as a composing tool. BTW, have you figured out the whole Master transposing/key stuff? I kinda get what it does, but say I want to write a cliche Am-C-F-G 4 bar chord progression, it’s not clear what key or root you start with in the pattern and then what you do in the master track to make it do what you want. Have you seen anyone do a tutorial on this?

There’s a compiled package for Mac, it’s under the /dist folder underbridge.app that’s the file you want to download. It downloads as a zip file and so you’ll need to unzip it, then drag it to your applications, then when you double click it it’ll say it can’t be opened, that’s normal, then go to security & privacy and click open anyway and then when the dialog pops up click open and it should load.

I do love this project, but I think I'll stick to recording every track manually through my interface. I've kind of accepted you just have to do everything separately, I usually set my DAW to record 24 bars and play an individual track while doing some filter, fx and punch-in variations along the way. The track is arranged on the DAW anyways, at least for me, so it's nice to have long evolving loops to build it from.

@StephenMcLeod
@StephenMcLeod Жыл бұрын
What price are they at now? I sold mine a couple of months ago. Since I got the M8 it barely got a look in. I enjoyed writing loops on it, especially with the rumble pak, but it didn't really gel with me long term. I kept forgetting what all of the shortcuts and things were and it wasn't that fun to keep looking up.
