Its hard to expect them to cater to such a niche playstyle though. Out of something like 100 million players now, maybe like 100-300k prefer true anarchy. We are talking like 0.002% of the playerbase. Most will probably never even try it because it is (to put it nicely) an intense way to play, and the ones that do almost never stick to it or only do it as an aside. I understand if anarchy players feel neglected or jaded during update talk, but you chose that life for yourselves. Also i agree with Skim, people are just gonna dupe it anyway.

I sympathize with anarchy players. I don’t play it personally but I can imagine it must be tiring if you feel like you’re limited to only playing on a certain version of the game. Set up an iron farm and trade iron with weaponsmith + toolsmith to get your diamond tools for emeralds, and then trade emeralds until you get the diamond set from the armour villager. The problem is on multiplayer servers. If a player decides to cheat and use the world seed, they can raid all of the nearest bastions and prevent anyone else from upgrading to netherite without traveling thousands of blocks. This is already a huge problem with Elytra, and to a lesser extent, Shulker boxes. Now, essentially, all the end-game items are exclusive to speedrunners.

Not only that, 1.20 actually finally fixes that annoying damage wobble bug that made it non-functioning in multiplayer ever since the game was released and from v1.3 it became non-functioning in singleplayer as well, because they introduced "Open to LAN" feature that simply made singleplayer into a built-in localhost server, which obviously inherited all multiplayer bugs, including this damage wobble bug and also the annoying desync bug. So from 1.20 onwards, not only in singleplayer, but also for the first time in multiplayer as well, you will be able to tell from which direction you've been just hit!

I'd be happy with this if they added different armour upgrades with this one So not just Netherite upgrade to get knockback resistance, you can use upgrades found in end cities that only have ships to attach the Elytra to your chestplate, upgrades from ancient cities that gives you a noise resistance type of thing that silences your movement and gives you less restrictions or just another end one that makes it so when you have full "enderite" your swords attack is increased by 3 and your mining speed is also increased But no, they just made the game more time consuming (not like people are just going to mass duplicate them though)

Honestly seems like a good idea and it gives more motive and reason to get it so instead of just using old diamond armour for the smithing table you have to gather much more diamonds to use to make more templates to work for making a complete set of armour

Unless it’s in public servers, they already have issues with items like the elytra and even shulker boxes to a degree. The same will probably happen to netherite, where players will try to raid bastions as fast as possible, making it so most players would have to travel a long distance in the nether to get the upgrade. Not to mention the possibility of them dying.

Netherite armor really isn’t that much better than diamond for 80% of situations. It has the exact same protection as diamond, just with more durability and knock back resistance. If they buffed the protection by a little bit or maybe gave you some passive fire protection I could see this being a good rework.

​​​@@holocoaster7205 nah, since bronze is made out of copper I think they should make bronze ingots made from 8 copper ingots, and the bronze ingots can make armor and stuff, but instead of a sword it's a spear or glaive. and to make it worth it, the armor can be in between Iron and Diamond in terms of durability and a slightly less than diamond in armor points. Also yes, I did just make a whole idea out of what you said

The main thing I will say about this is that in the first world I started up for 1.20, trying to find a bastion not only took 6 hours, but it didn't even have a trim in it. Out of frustration, I duplicated the world and used cheats to find another. But on top of that, it didn't feel accomplishing to have finally obtained netherite gear, as I would spend countless hours mining for diamonds, making it feel more like a tedious chore rather than an accomplishment. All that time I could have been building, I instead spent just to get better gear, which really discouraged me from the idea of wanting netherite again in the future.

Honestly I like the idea, and it's even harder to get armor trims so when you want to find some you'll need to go on an adventure but since getting ancient debris and gold is darn well easy, you'll need to go into a bunch of caves, probably deepslate caves since you can find more diamonds deeper down, and even more that aren't exposed to air. So when you upgrade the armor, get the duplicates, and start adventuring for the trims it will all be worth it in the end because your hard work paid off very well.
