The Library portal and dimension was interesting, because if you dont know- its a reference to the infinite Library of Babel. To sum it up, its an infinite space, comprised of infinite books that are all jumbled up- but people go there to find the perfect book. They usually go insane doing so though

There is now a mod on Modrinth for 1.20.1 called Infinite Dimensions - and replicates exactly this behavior for portals. So no need to get this special version of Minecraft anymore. I am going to add this mod and extend my portal room with portals of really cool dimensions I find. PS: Technically it's not infinite, the maximum number is the 32-bit integer limit - which comes out at approx. 2.167 billion possible dimensions to explore. Should be enough.

The dimensions have biomes and each biome has a different generation. Some sucked while some were good and where you end up depends on where you are in the world when creating a portal with your name also if you see a end gateway and you throw a ender pearl in it then it will teleport you somewhere far in the same dimension. I learned this using the lodestone

The one thing I'm wondering without testing yet (I'm working on a few big projects in my current server) -- If you use the same book (for example, "dirt") on another portal in either the same world or another world/seed, will you get to the same dimension -- or is it completely random?
