Primeau could be claimed on waivers. Unless we find someone to back up Monty, we don’t gamble with Primeau or dobes/Hughes not being able to hack it as a backup.

Like we have other guys that could do a better job and if we absolutely need another 2nd goalie, we can pay a small price to get one who will di the job better. I know he's still young but he just gives 0 confidence to his team. I believed in him for a long time, but not so much anymore sadly.

Another great game by Kovasevic tonight. Led the Devils in ice time in a 5-1 win over the Rangers. Assist on the opening goal, +1 on the night, first pairing PK, 2 hits, 4 blocked shots. What a hugely valuable contributor he would be on this 'hybrid' defense system you guys keep talking about. Or maybe the late 4th-rd pick that HuGo gave him away for would be better?? Naaaahhhh, I don't think so either.

I think we would all do well to remember what Toronto did to James Reimer…leave the players alone. They’re well aware of where their game is at, there’s no need to take down their souls out of frustration. Yeah that Jiricek move is an overpay. You talk about a "huge nhl potential" well no, definitely not so huge anymore. It's his 3rd season in the league, he's not shown the level of progress of a Guhle or a Struble in spite of supposedly having a much higher floor & ceiling to begin with. Only saving grace is he's a rare right shot D with offensive know-how, and yeah ok, he'll turn out alright, but he most likely won't kick anyone out of the 1st pair anytime soon. Plus the 5th round pick this year with him is basically worth nothing as every scout deem this class shallow and they give away picks for next year which is already looking like a better & deeper class. So overpay it is, well done Don, you sly old fox.

Goaltending is the number one issue right now. Primeau is not a number 2 goalie and Montembeault is so inconsistent, I’m not sure if he’s even a number 2.

Jesse!?! When you say "I think that Hughes has given us every reason to really trust him", can you offer some actual reasoned examples of how you think he and Gorton have done that?? Very seriously??? Just run down through the trades they've made, and seriously try to make the case that they've improved this team in any tangible way?? Surprised to hear about Gorton punching a wall after the loss to the Rangers. With all of the absolutely BRUTAL moves that he and Hughes have made from the moment they arrived in Montreal, I've been pondering if maybe they're still on the Rangers' payroll. And just 'plants' by the Rangers to make sure we never get back to competitiveness.
