Last run we played, my gf tried out Wigfrid. It was her first time playing her since the skill tree came out. As soon as she got the charged elding spear and saw what it does, she started giggling maniacally and announced she would be a Wigfrid main now.

Commander's helm is disposable? Nah. You agro a bunch of bees/killer bees, charge into them with an elding spear(charged or not) and both you and the helm are near instantly at full.

6:05 it's not the post-rift gear that outclasses the commander helmet. It's the dreadstone helmet. Does practically the same thing but gives you double the defense. Sure, it doesn't protect against knockback, but how important is that really? Only a handfull of enemies actually knock you back, but these are mostly post-rift mobs, so you should be using post-rift sets against them. Nightmare werepig's knockback isn't even an issue for Wigfrid since it's only really problematic for people fighting it on the beefalo, and you shouldn't fight on a beefalo as Wigfrid, unless you're fighting a punchbag.

Wigfrid's saddle has a hidden stat that allows you to mount the beefalo while it's in combat. The Battle Saddle does it too, but you need to kill 2 Eucuses to get that. It prevents you from losing your beefalo to getting knocked out of it.

Thats something i didn't know However the war saddle is the only one that needs the steel wool though. her saddle just needs winter bird feathers

[Shield] Also, there's actually a really dumb problem with the Rönd. They made a shield that's far too overly absorbant with damage when you're NOT trying to use it to block damage. It has such a high damage reduction that a significant amount of your weapon gets spent by taking damage when you'd much rather that be offloaded to your actual armor, and it's really not a very cheap tool. [Suggestion] I'd be much more impressed with the Rönd if they actually lowered the damage resistance to something like 20% instead, and simply made it more of a forever tool with vampirism (perhaps at the cost of a deerclops eye). If it's too powerful even then, make it lose a durability use on each attack brunted. I'm saying this just because it's so damn offensive that a cool weapon is ruined by being unusable without 8 copies of it in your inventory for a single boss fight.

[Affinities] While on the topic of issues with Wigfrid. By and large, the most frustrating thing with her skilltree is actually her affinity perk songs. They're so awfully useless because the buffs are extremely inconsequential. [Simple Fix] I had a suggestion a long time ago that they should give players a small percent chance to summon shadow tentacles or lesser gestalts on hit, and Wurt's skilltree proved they could implement the idea because that's exactly what the Mudslinger Wands do. I think that would have made the affinity songs a much, much cooler craftable rather than the perk itself being simply so you can have the 10% damage towards shadow monsters. [Better Fixes] if not those ideas (because I'll face it, they added it for Wurt, not Wigfrid), maybe they should take a different approach to adjusting Wigfrid's affinity songs: - My idea for the lunar song is that it creates a small luminant effect around any players with the buff. This would allow players fighting in the dark to not need a magiluminescence or manage their light. - My idea for shadow is that players with the buff could get a chance to increase the enemy's vulnerability much like how the Void Cowl functions. It still decays obviously, and the chance can be very low, however it'd feel so much more consequential than an invisible damage buff. As you can see, I like the idea of non-parallel affinities because they allow for different playstyles/tools for the player. I'd love if my more experimental ideas made it into the game, but that's probably extremely unlikely.

​​​@@sacco5908I might be assuming wrong, but it's the lack of healing from food and not being able to eat the same food? Wormwood can at least still use honey poultice and jellybeans for healing during combat (his compost wraps as a cheap choice), tents and siestas outside of combat, and bat bats if he feels inclined. Gathering wood and relocating plants is a trouble for wormwood, but you could also use deerclops or bearger for mass producing wood later on, and just collect seeds as you gather saplings, grass, and berries, also again sleeping for sanity gain afterwards. Warly's is pretty bad as you can only eat meals once or twice, maybe 3 times if it's like a meaty stew or scotch egg, but again I think he could also just use honey poultices even if it isn't everyone's staple. While you're collecting the papyrus you may as well make some night armor too.

@ghoulishgoober3122 Yea, but honestly there are meat dishes which are the same as other veggie dishes, so i've never had big problems with her. Due to "goodies" type of food being added, her downside became less harsh too.

i feel like people are sleeping on the battle saddle its great alternative considering the other battle saddles need steel wool or post rift items i like it for a rider beffalo since wigfrid is better in combat on her own plus since its a battle saddle it allows you to mount a beffalo while they are fighting something combine this with the damage reduction and youll find getting youll beffalo accidentally killed to be much more rare its not the strongest but for when u get it its incredible

I agree because with Wolfgang (might be ski issue on my part) requires more prep before fights because of mighty meter. Still pick Wolfgang mainly to end fights quicker, but I play mainly on console now so I run more armor to compensate for lag when kiting.
