@Jordan-Ramses2 жыл бұрын
Well that's dumb. The point should be just to make fun of people and make funny videos. What's the point of teaching people to be better? It's not exactly the same thing but I used to play a lot of poker. I made a conscious effort not to give anyone good advice :) Well, what would happen is that you take someone's money and they whine and complain and say that you're bad. Why would I defend myself and explain my strategy? Why would I reward their insults and whining with good advice? But I digress. It's a competitive game. Why teach others to be better. It's unlikely to work but if it does it's not to your advantage :)

@@Jordan-Ramses its pokar, easy money. Here we are sweats and we like to sweat. It makes more fun. We play for sake of playing. And teaching some one so they can entertain us to have good time all together. Without spending too much time by learning all tricks. But to be new is always hard, no matter those fancy league separations. Reality is still that you have a long bloody way to the top, which well, considering many circumstances, just not for everyone achievable. Most of the time it also not worth it, maybe getting some experience, which should be the main goal of all this games. And still, both games. One is silly than other. At the least in our game things cant escalate to some nasty violence. Abusing people, because they not experience, you just abusing trust. But without that trust you are also wont gain anything from them. And we need each other, just abusing trust wont make things good for anyone, just barely for a time, for that one, who thinks he/she is smarter and deserves more than others. But well, im just nerd, you can tell me how is that actually works. Some times we do need to stand up against abuse and unfairness. Your army control and reaction time is dia3 at least. Just your map vision and decision making when to engage is not. Get early obs und fly it directly to T's main ramp area to see whats happening build-order wise, place it a bit outside to know when he moves out. Get at least 1 more obs to cover classic drop path to your main (of course this takes some minimap awareness (which you will almost automatically develop with increased mapvision) to benefit from this). Also a pylon at the "3rd" to cover classic drop path to natural. And most importantly you have to learn when to engage. Expect to kite back quite often with the unit comp you are making here. T is a race that can fortify pretty well (siege tanks, libs, mines, planetaries), dont attack into it unless you really can / have to. Instead move around with your army and poke at different places to find a weak spot. If you dont, just keep map control and expand,expand,expand. And finally, chargelots are pretty gud. I think you wouldve won the game even with your Harakiri engages if you mixed in the right amount. They counter siege tanks heavily and marauders to a good extend. Ideally, dont loose any robo units if you decide to trade in engages (pull back or recall in time). Im confident you can make dia3 soon (tm)

HARSTEM! I got a question: I understand that more infrastructure means less money to build units and I love those piece of advice in terms of optimizing builds/timings. But assuming that at the low levels, we arent constantly even building probes (ergo not optimizing warp units), is there a universe in where if this particular person followed your advice and have done 2 Gateways but build units out of them in a less recurring way (money accumulated), he could be worse off at a moment in the future? (being attacked and not being able to warp more than 2 units at a time). Wouldnt it be better he had more gateways since in those warps he could build more units? The same idea when you play teams and you already have like 4-5 expansions....you build as many gates as you can so you can warp more units at very team fight.
@richardhauer83912 жыл бұрын
Why would you want gatewayunits after you already have 5 expos in a team game? Carriers are pretty strong and in team games they are even better, because with there is no hardcounter. Also, when it comes to the adding more production than necessary, spending money on useless stuff ruins important timings; even in lower leagues it makes a big difference. Just a minute of uninterrupted macro can give your opponent a doubled army size. I am pretty sure Solari could have just a-moved to win at 9:30 if he hadn't invested so much into stuff that is useless if he just wants to basetrade anyway. Or look for example Harstem's TvT here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqmwgKeNn8x_p5Y (the second game) He looses pretty hard, but still makes a comeback because his opponent floats a bit of money.

The problem I see is over infrastructure... without the assets ... so... two warp gates is worth three zealots or about 2 stalkers.... minus the gas... As soon as his enemy had a raven... He could of dropped to star ports which is more forgivable, and build some air ot kill teh tanks or remove the raven/ harrass.. Plus.. Protoss air except observor is so good at scouting nav/path routes... in quick succession. At the 11 minute mark... Terran has isoalted himself in his base... this is where he could use his robitics bay and build some observors for watching if Terran ever expands super cheap.... wit hthree obs... or keep building and army, cycle the north and east lanes otwards center, then patrol and keep the terran boxed in with simpyl a patrol snipe retreat method... and cycle the obs ot the lateral sides ofr possbile sneak medivac,s but at the eleveln minute mark... The opponenet is super turtling and struggling... and half as many probes.... but terran might invest those extra thousand minerals into say, military units.. SO taht is somethign ot be aware of.. if you stop/ force a player not to expand... they potentailly can win if you keep building probes and expand, simpyl becasue they could end up having 2/1 army in whihc yo ucan't build enough units to coutner the force... a 2/1 ratio in a battle typically the player with more units comes out Way ahead... like at most a 1/3 of their army is neutralized... so it stil larger then the later.. becasue colelctive firing is elimianting units at a faster rate... Then he never had blink... when using a stalker.. in my mind if I have x of a certain unit, I jsut upgrade all of that unit, just because.... typcally it all adds a benefit, to somethign I am using as a primary at the moment...

I think he faked a one based all-in knowing that the enemy reaper sees his gates. The 6 units stopped the enemy expo from mining for a long time without over extending, he saved supply to boost econ without building any unit after first 6 that were not warped in. He was so far ahead that he should retreat after forcing out the enemy natural for the THIRD time, It looks like his build was totally fine, but it was the decision making that was at fault. He should have an observer or hallucinated unit to check what was up the ramp, because taking tank shots with the colosi is not the way. That's all I'd asked for. I think you can do a BGMWSS using similar build as his (6 units from gateways, 3 gates fast warpgate, stop the enemy expo and expand after it). It has potential because that looks like a one-base proxy 4 gate all-in while it really isn't. And you can't really die if the enemy move out as two waves of warp is going to save you from a counter attack. After the terran rushing out units to anticipate the onslaught the protoss was so far ahead that he made really bad fight but was still ahead for a long time.

The reason tin league players like me add a lot of production is because we cannot for the life of us constantly produce out of a production building. We can't consistently constantly do anything! "Oh crap I'm not producing out of that building!" we realize, after 20 or 30 or 40 or 60 seconds of wasted potential production time. So the only way to end up with any kind of army while we're young is to make a bunch of production and stick them all on a hotkey then quick queue up a bunch of units all at once when we finally remember to produce units at all.

I played someone yesterday who made a bunch of cannons and shield batteries at his 3rd. I decided to skip his 3rd and went straight to his 2nd and main base to destroy his production lol. It was funny on the reply watching from the guy's prospective when I did that, it was like "why the !@#$ you not attacking my 3rd?!?!!" haha

Part of the reason I stopped playing SC2, I just can't take a good fight to save my life, playing as zerg, it felt like your army had to be perfectly tailored to counter your opponent. Protoss late game felt unbeatable, and Mech felt unbeatable.

I’m actually really surprised the Protoss wasn’t submitting an IODIS form complaining about Terran battlecruisers! Those BC’s absolutely dismantled his economy single-handedly!

I think Harstem was correct, but also wrong at one point. SPOILER: At 10.30 Solari decides to walk his stalkers into 3 auto-turrets, rather than pulling his probes. However, IF he had pulled his probes I bet they would all have died to the mine which shoots just after. Now, this is obviously not something Solari considered, and my point is actually... pointless. ;)

If you lose against a guy who is on the level where he adds random Thors and Battlecruisers to his army because they are cool robots and therefore have to be great, the problem might actually be you and not imbalance. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those people complained that a single thor with 0/0 upgrades in the mix with the terran army is super OP if they lose to it after making 20 mistakes in a row

I think you need to start featuring Toss replays my guy. When's the last time a toss player won a major tournament? You're a toss player. What's more likely? Every toss player sucks? Or the game is slightly imbalanced towards Protoss.

I haven't gotten past the opening email yet and I already see something that drives me nuts. 'I already had a third when he started his natural mining'. that smelled dishonest to me. then a sentence later suddenly he's on '2.5' bases, whatever that means. very curious to see what the actual truth is when the terran starts mining at his natural. edit - here I sit, in utter shock, that the line about when the terran starts mining at his natural is a complete lie.

Is it weird that one my first day of playing Sc2 (the ladder I mean…I’ve beater the first campaign) that I got straight to plat? Idk if that’s common or not…maybe it’s just due to the fact that I watch a lot of casts…
@fdcrat2 жыл бұрын
That can easily happen. In the beginning, the game doesn't know your skill level, so it can match you against quite random opponents. A few wins out of the first 5 games can place you in platinum or maybe gold 1. You will never be placed lower by just playing, but you might be placed lower in the next season if your MMR drops below around 2800. It happened to me too.

It's a statistics problem, even with 5 losses in your placement matches the game won't put you at the lowest level. Plat is kind of in the middle so if you get very low level opponents in placements and beat some, then the game is kinda forced to put you into plat. It's unlikely for you to stay in plat if you play 20 more games and play the placement match for the next season.

I think its a “set”. If a race is imba and have a unit imba, then it must be balanced. Otherwise if a race is not imba but have a unit imba. Let it go!
