As a Dark World player, I'm super stoked you're covering my main deck these past couple of formats! Just to add some tips for players looking into tech for the deck; yes, you can play Lava golem and also Santa Claws as they're both fiends to help break boards this format! Ceruli allows you to activate Triple Tactics Talents/Thrust as he's technically an opponents card once he's on their side of the field... so you can hand rip for more with Tactics or get those EEVs onto your board without having it draw into it. Neko Mane king is a great card still as you can discard it with Grapha (fusion) to end the opponents turn early. Doug doesn't needs to draw you 2 cards and discard 1, you can also bring back dark world names to return them to hand with Grapha and Reign Beaux

In 15:20 you can also ban snoww instead of zalamander, bc zalamander can come back to your hand when a monster is destroyed by battle involving a fiend monster, you always want cards in your hand when you activate dugares and lose your next draw phase

My friend who got into Yugioh with me in Highschool ran the old Dark World Structure deck. Such times, much Grapha, big wow. The Dark Worlds are just the WeatherPainters in their "It'S nOt JuSt A pHaSe MoM!" time of their life. I am a smooth brain boi and would love an explanation of how to use the Live Twins and Spright cards with elf gone. I couldn't bring to play them when they were top tier or when the frog variant was popular so I really fumble through the combos with them in the twin deck. P.S. the editing in this video went hard! Question, is Grapha Fusion effect mandatory? If an effect from your opponent happens and you use the “Your opponent discards 1 card” effect, but let’s say you don’t have any cards in your hand, does Fusion Grapha still resolve or is it ONLY IF you have a card in hand? Cause I’ve been in a few duels where I don’t have anything in hand but I have Fusion Grapha and I don’t activate his effect because I’m not sure if it’ll go through without anything in hand

I think I can explain snoww to a certain degree: Based on how it’s worded, if it’s discarded (regardless of how) the search effect triggers, but if your opponent forced the discard, then you get the summon on top of that But here’s the kicker: the summon’s optional Which means that Snoww can either completely dodge Ghost Belle, or get completely railed by it if you decide to commit to the summon. You end up losing both effects if that happens TL:DR Snoww’s wording makes it a mandatory trigger with an optional effect attached to it (Welcome to 2005 card design)

Great Darkworld vid LoGanG and Young priest Bry 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 !! Love it when they use the spoopy music. Ngl this deck seems cummy AF and making me wanna build it. Ok here’s my take on the Darkworld/Weather Painter connection that I just made up in my head. (Dunno the lores to Weather Painters, Darkworlds, & Witchcrafters) Zure wants to usurp Sillva to become the overlord so along his adventures he meets Witchcrafter Madam Verre. Zure and Madam have all sorts of fun adventures together and eventually grow closer. However during his adventures he also meet another girl named The Weather Painter 🌈. Her power of the 🌈/colors astonishes Zure so much he’s smitten. But during his time with 🌈 someone is watching them in secret. Who you may ask? Why Madam ofc. So she gets super jelly and the next time Zure and her meet she tries to swoon Zure. So Madam knowing that Zure wants to overthrow Sillva she has an idea 💡. She and Zure make a creature to kill Sillva. A beast with overbearing power and that’s how Grapha was born. Then Grapha goes around and beats the breaks of Silva’s kingdom. Then Sillva is defeated (not 💀) and cast out of his kingdom. Then Zure takes the thrown, is corrupted even more with power, and with his dark power and with Weather Painter 🌈’s power Zure becomes Gold Wu-lord. Also at some point Witchcrafter Madam finds out that Zure was just using her for her power to get the thrown so they no longer are together and that’s when Madam transitions to lesbian. (I think Madam has a thing for one or two of the other Witchcrafter ladies from what I remember I dunno 🤷‍♂️) Sillva beaten, cast out, and alone reaches the world of The Weather Painters. Their power over color infatuates him so much Sillva becomes engrossed in their culture. Eventually he meets Weather Painter 🌈 and they get closer and closer. And he tells her how he lost his kingdom to his once most trusted knight. So Weather Painter 🌈 feels so bad for Sillva that they both use their powers to take back the Darkworld kingdom. And with Weather Painter 🌈’s color power and Silva’s dark courrpt powers they make: Beige, Megenta, Ceruli, Snoww, Renge, Lucent, Scarr, and Kahhki to take back the kingdom from Gold/Zure.

4:55 OK so I’ve noticed a couple of dark with cards have that messed up description as you know it’s my favorite deck and the only explanation I have for us to why so many cars have that weird description is because whoever economy was writing the descriptions for these cards must’ve had a stroke and making them and they never felt like fixing it because they didn’t really care about those cards. As far as I know the only cards that did get their text fixed to be less silly we’re Broww and reign beaux overlord. Even still the only reason why I think Reign Beaux doesn’t have the annoying unnecessary “if discarded by card effect: If it was an OPPONENT effect only” is because he’s the main boss monster of the deck so when they made the structure deck for dark world they changed it so it wouldn’t look as silly because he’s the main guy. However all the other cards in that pack were unchanged and still have that stupid text that doesn’t help anything. The only exception I know of for certain being brow huntsman of dark world and I only know that he got fixed because I have a version of that card from back when it first came out. And his description didn’t even need to be fixed because it was easy to understand both times they wrote it. One more thing how do you feel that Broww Huntsman of dark world if he was discarded by the opponent is pretty much a pot of greed?

I ran DDW in my last locals and got 4th place , we dont have zalamander catalizer here in ocg yet but fairy tail snow is a really great tech thats not banned here( pretty disgusting I would say) as its not once per chain, jackalope is also not limited here so I ran 3. deck is pretty solid going first specially when you dont get shiftered or drolled, going 2nd is fine as this deck clears boards pretty well and grapha/reign beaux can still summon themselves from the gy even under your opponent's abyss dweller as it's not an effect but an inherent summoning condition

Fun fact, you can utilize the the dark barrier statue. It's a fiend, so basically go full combo and then end with using mucracker of the underworld to bring it back from grave if said card was discarded during combo. Also keeping the dragon on the field and having the field spell on board, you have a 1600 attack statue and will be protected by mucracker. The more you know. Recommend at 2 for the deck for higher chances to draw it and hopefully discard it. Or just use the dragon to special summon it. End result, opponent has no hand, and they are locked out from everything with only having 1 card in hand. Gg

Grapha and Reign-Beaux's effects to Special Summon themselves do not start a chain link, but are still card effects. Therefore, under Necrovalley, you cannot Special Summon Grapha or Reign-Beaux from the graveyard. This is different from cards like the Infernoids, which can still be Special Summoned from the graveyard under Necrovalley, and Bystial Lubellion, which can also be Special Summoned from the graveyard under Necrovalley. This is important to know. Snoww's text is actually the updated PSCT card text. It's not difficult to understand at all: If it's discarded to the graveyard by a card effect (activation requirement), then you can activate its effect. After the colon, there is additional text which specifies that if it was discarded by an opponent's card effect, you can target one monster in your opponent's graveyard. The reason this is necessary is because the format of PSCT is: Activation requirement: Cost and targeting; Effect. That means that targets need to be specified before you put the effect on the chain, so the text of Snoww needs to mention this before the actual effect text. If you activate Change of Heart, you need to specify its target before you put Change of Heart on the chain, as an example. The effect of Snoww will add 1 Dark World monster from your deck to your hand, then if you discarded Snoww because of an opponent's card effect, the monster you targeted in the graveyard will be Special Summoned to your field, then the effect finishes resolving. The Dark World cards have no connection to Weather Painters; they were used by one of the villains in Yui-Gi-Oh! GX and are basically an anime archetype. Weather Painters have no connection with the anime and no connection with any other archetype...

Dark World, the ole classic of the Demons of Discards. Very fun deck & contrary to popular belief, it can do more than handrip. As for Snoww, it's a card text nightmare, but I believe the effect is as follows >if discarded by a card effect, it searches for a Dark World Card >If the Opponent does the discard, You are allowed to target a monster in the opponent's grave. After targeting it, you do your Dark World Search, then if that resolves, you can revive the targeted monster in defense position

Honestly if you guys bounced the ceruli with akashik you could have easily gotten the full board on top of the hand-loop for 4, it's not that the deck needs to try and be built around the handloop, as long as yoi are playing silva it just happens naturally

If you guys want to try other flavors of the list you could also look into the deep draw version with 3 Allure and 3 Trade-Ins over the dangers, it uses the Ceruili+Lucent(the new level 6) interaction to end on simarly impressive boards without relying on the dangers to hit

If Firewall Dragon didn't get an Errata, Danger Darkworld FTK would still ruin everything. so that's a 'soft' once per turn as people say--it means you can activate that COPY once per turn--so if you have multiple copies, you can activate EACH one. Hard once per turns are things that say 'you can only use the effect of _____ once per turn' but because it just says 'once per turn' it doesn't indicate the card name, but the copy of the card. that's why we emphasize how this deck is older and therefore doesn't have 'hard' once per turns like modern decks often do. :) hope this helps! If you're looking for a comparison, look at a modern field spell like perlereino or pressured planet wraitsoth! :D

Something is off. Gates of the dark world. Text: All Fiend-Type monsters gain 300 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Fiend-Type monster from your Graveyard, discard 1 Fiend-Type monster, then draw 1 card. it says once per turn. Are you sure?

It’s once per copy, meaning it’s a ‘soft’ once per turn. Which is why you keep activating new copies of it! If it was a ‘hard’ once per turn it would say ‘you can only use this effect of Gates Of The Dark World once per turn’. Yes, the card is truly just whack. 🤣 soft once per turns are broken! Especially in this deck. Where uh, everything goes brr 🤣

It’s a level 3 & honestly it isn’t needed. You want the danger count a bit high to be able to continue playing & the dark worlds on their own don’t allow you to do that. We cut the ones we didn’t feel necessary so that we could play more extenders. :)

Broww allows you an extra draw off of danger discard which is very necessary for the deck. It can turn a danger into a no cost to hand. It should be ran at 2-3

Luckily Bryan has loved this deck for a while, so the new combos definitely took a few days to get used to but once you start going it doesn’t take too much time to figure it out again!!

This is a great question. So if you played trade in. You’d more than likely also have to include the level 8 dangers & we were not fans of them. They don’t net you any value going first & can also be bricks half the time. They are great options but we wanted to focus more on the powerful board states instead of the rank/level 8s
