Pete, thanks for bringing this “heads up” information, as we’ve come to expect and look forward from you and your channel another great and extremely informative and pertinent piece of information because as I’m sure you know no matter who’s drive belt an individual chooses to use (weather it the OEM belt made by MBL, or any belt from Dayco, Gates, Timken or a private brand offering) NO belt is a “cure all” for a misaligned CVT

Few tips n tricks . Use factory clutch bolt and bigger socket and use like a slide hammer . And separate stub from bearing , clean off area and apply green lock tight(bearing retainer)will create a better bond

Great video ! Tappp it in 😂😎. For what it’s worth I know KZbin says 10-15 min videos are best but I prefer 30-45 mins the best ! Sometimes longer than that and I lose interest or just don’t click to watch on that night because I know I’ve gotta go do… fill in the blank and KZbin doesn’t put it back on my feed. Again just me for what it’s worth. Take care Pete 🍺🍺

If you loc tite the shaft, to get it apart easy is use heat. Even on red loc tite. Lots of people have the shifters come loose on harleys and I use red loc tite on mine, and use a large soldering iron to take it off easy.

Pete, did Yamaha design motor for motorcycle application. then when they decide use for snowmobile application. Yamaha had to design hub for snowmobile clutch ?

Does Yamaha not have some different size shims available?
@rednecksdirtyhands20 сағат бұрын
I'm not sure..
@MrATOMBOMB42020 сағат бұрын
That bearing has no effect as to where the shaft sits because when you put the bolt in the clutch the bolt goes all the way through into the crankshaft and pulls that whole thing together so there's no way that the shaft can sit in farther unless the shaft coupler is damaged or where the clutch bolts on the hub is damaged and getting that rope tangled behind the clutch could have pushed that bearing in I've seen it in two stroke motors

Is it possible that the Kevlar strands from the belt forced the bearing back.
@rednecksdirtyhands20 сағат бұрын
it's possible I suppose but I think it's the shock and force of the clutch slamming together that knocks it in.. 🍻
@craigaustin477919 сағат бұрын
@rednecksdirtyhands it makes a high tension Kevlar spacer and the clutch pushes the bearing in. How about removing a shim from secondary?
@larryw542919 сағат бұрын
Why not put a shim type washer between stub and crank so it cant slide in? Seems it will just happen again!

Btw if you want that last bit of mph ceramic bearings in the whole sled. I pick up a 4 to 5 mph increase. My 350hp sidewinder does 151 in the 1/4. Hp doesn’t do chit to you make that sled slippery smooth.

28 thou out of alignment on a belt? On that distance, thats less than a 1/8 a degree. If the belt can't take that deflection, time to change brands
@dubiousf00d18 сағат бұрын
At those speeds, the smallest things are what make the difference.
@LawLow8621 сағат бұрын
I'm sure if their was a good c clip behind that bearing maybe it would stay put? But for how easy of a fix it is realistically, just something to keep an eye on that's all 👍
