Maybe just me but I'd try and resolve the bonnet cable issue as well as talking to the dealer because it clearly worked when I bought it . Ain't that what fair wear and tear means
@CTR_198614 сағат бұрын
I know Golf mk6 you can get to that cable through the wheel arch liner and pull the cable in some instances. Not sure if it would apply to the mk7 or also not work because it was separated where they join
@idefeczx11 сағат бұрын
You can get to the mk7s with some of them little squeezy airbags to lift the bonnet slightly on the corner

Get jiggy with doing discs and pads on your ramp bud, you'll do each side in 15 mins and save loads, mini pre mot as well, loads of things, tbh first thing you need to do is up on your ramp and a look round, shake the suspension, you'll save loads bud.

when painting wheels, always put spacesavers on as temp replacments to move car , and let wheels dry separate

The grille on the Golf, complete with radar sensor, is around £1600 James. My local garage repaired one a few Months back, and I recall him saying how much the new grille cost.... The i20 won't hang about. Yours looks tidy....nice colour too.

Solution for water marks on fresh 2k,if it doesn't clear when lacquer is dry,a heat gun usually fixes the problem.had same issue in the 90s on a golf I painted.ex gaffer took it out of the workshop too soon and it rained.i had visions of having to repaint it but fortunately a quick 1200 and machine with G3 sorted it.

have you considered buying a small compressor and a tripple filter and air fed half mask and a cheap spray gun for doing wheels with, You will save a fortune on paint and clear coat plus you can get 7.5 litre 2k clear coat kits with rapid air drying hardeners, I have 2k clear coats on my shelve that have 10 to 15 minute hardeners so the clear coat goes off very fast, The clear coats in aerosol tins take absolutely ages to dry
@roystonvehicles912913 сағат бұрын
I keep telling him that, I think he fears spray guns, ha, ha, I buy 2k in gallons and lasts ages.
@glitchtheory660911 сағат бұрын
@roystonvehicles9129 yea a 7.5 litre kit will last absolutely ages if just doing wheels with it and so much more cost effective too

@@glitchtheory6609 yes bud, I don't mess around with rattle cans, James does well to get the finish he does.
@glitchtheory66095 сағат бұрын
@@roystonvehicles9129 the only rattle can I do actually still use is grey primer if doing a smart repair as dont have the clean up with my primer gun which I prefer, if using 2k clear rattle can you can get great finishes with it,,, its just the drying time is my issue with them. about 15 years ago when I first got good at painting I used to carbon dip and custom spray paint the center consoles and interior trim of civic type R ep3's and ended up being the go to guy on the national forum for custom interior parts lol used to do 30 to 40 interior trims every month and used to use rattle cans but I like buying in bulk and saving on materials to maximise profits and ended up buying compressors and spray guns, Thats where I started with spraying and where I have ended up is after getting paid off from the oil industry offshore during the pandemic I built a mobile spraybooth van and was going around doing wheel refurbs mobile at peoples houses and doing some smart repairs too but wanted to up my game and went into powder coating wheel refurbs and opened that up about 18 months ago and absolutelt been out the door with work ever since, And now starting to buy and sell cars as can do alot of the work myself so can keep prep costs lower to max the profits which led me to start watching chops garage :)
@phil250516 сағат бұрын
Stop been tight and get the wheels refurbed properly for a few hundred £££. It looked like you had dead fly's and all sorts in your rattle can finish. COME ON !!!
