Thank you Mr. Scientific. Your KZbin career is going really well! The subscriber-count-curve is rising steadily - soon it's time for your first Lamborghini (that is not paid by your dad!)

Do you know what kind of power cables I could buy instead of getting a Lamborghini? I’ll continue to let my Dad push me in the wheelbarrow.

100%. I demand to know when I'm wasting my money playing in MQA lol
@wahid-lg1kk5 ай бұрын
Most of the varying quality in Mqa is stupidity on the part of the patent holders, as the manufacturers of Mqa devices often fail to say how many times unfolding the device supports, or they will say full unfolding and it's actually 2x..so of course it sounds awful. A proper mqa made properly sounds great on a machine that supports 16x unfolding (rare). This is also three different factors that need to be properly implemented to get you that sound. The patent holders have never made any attempt to enforce this on liscencees. I will give an example. Shanling m1s dap.. Mqa in big letters on the back.. It actually only supports 2x unfolding, which is worse then a VBR MP3.

I saw Z Reviews rave review of the FX Audio DR07 & ordered one from Amazon. I agree for $169 it sounds fantastic. I only use the optical input. However there is an issue getting the unit to come on. It takes 10 to 20 attempts using the remote or the physical power button on the unit to get it to come on. It will come on & go off in about 1 second 10 to 20 times before it finally comes on & stays on. My solution is to never turn it off.

I didn't have that problem. Are you within the 30 day return window?

Ask Audio GD if they will send you an all in one device, you could start with the D-28 (delta sigma) (USD780-850) 0r the R-28 NOS (R2R) (USD1150) it starts to get a bit more pricey after those. Take a look.

Well thanks a lot for reminding me of that abomination from Rose Technics. I had just about scoured it from my mind with mento-bleach and you go and bring all the trauma back again. Also those crappy remotes are slowly taking over my house. I think I am changing the volume of Diane Bish's classic Drain Salad Surgery, and instead the curtains open and the toilet flushes.
@jimfarrell46355 ай бұрын
BTW, we're you aware Drain Salad Surgery was voted album of the decade (1970s, of course) by Waste Management Monthly magazine? It was, however, only given one star by The Vegan Society of America.

None of these desktops show the kbps figure.. Doesn't nt show the bit depth either.. But my phone does, with Hiby player.. Higher kbps rate means better sound, it's more important then 48khz vs 96khz

What amplifier around $300 do you recommend for the Aeon Open X? I have the Topping L30II, but it clips in the bass at high volume, and I would definitely prefer some more headroom. Topping states that the amp outputs 3.7 watts per channel, but if it does, then it should be able to make my headphones reach instant hearing damage volumes, but it doesn’t. Not like I’d want to listen to that loud, but the L30II is not sufficient, unfortunately.
@scientificaudiophile5 ай бұрын
The Schit Midgard - 5.5 watts into 16 ohms. I haven’t tried it with the Aeon’s but there’s zero chance it will clip before hitting 4 watts.

It 100% won't be replacing my ADI-2, but it's not junk. They definitely cut corners - especially with the remote.
