Love them sheepshead even though I have never caught one. So, you charter out dauphin island? I will be there around the beginning of June on my way to Florida, I will hopefully be booking a trip with you for some inshore action. Do you think they will be biting then? My wife has a friend that manages some rental properties there and we will be there for a day or two.
@CaptCollier11 ай бұрын
I do run trips out of dauphin island however I don’t usually target sheep in the summer time. That’s usually from October-April, but I’m sure we can make something happen

Sorry to whine, but it's cool that you can still do that there. The nanny's have taken over in Florida. There would be a sign every 6" telling you not to walk on the structure. Ninety plus percent of the things we did at Ft. DeSoto as youngsters is now forbidden. Love the content that the new kayak adds to the channel. I still get back on mine in the winter here to fish the lows.

There's a guy who is nuts over sheepshead and he only uses the stuff that grows on the pillars and piers. He shaves them off into a net, throws some out for chum and puts some on his hook and catches monsters.
@CaptCollier10 ай бұрын
Yes he’s using barnacles. That’s probably the best bait to use because that’s what they eat most of the time, however they can be difficult to keep on the hook and are very messy lol

Invest in some korkers if you plan on doing that often.
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
What is that
@aimfendi Жыл бұрын
@@CaptCollierstudded shoes I believe like a soccer cleat or football cleats essentially, they call them corkers, guys use em on the jetty’s in Texas, and the Australian guys use em as well. Don’t see many people wearing em here in Florida though.

Invest in time on the water, after all it is fishing, not catching, captain is probably out on the water 5 days a week, and is in tune with the water, fish, tide and elements. If you can’t find spots in shore, good luck offshore!😅
