I am a middle aged female who loves watching fishing videos and I love to fish. Unfortunately I did not have a father to teach me to fish so husband and I are having fun teaching ourselves. We enjoy watching your videos! Thank you!

Another great video. I got started watching your videos while I was in the hospital for 3 months and I continued watching them while I was getting my strength up to go home a year later. It was the next best thing to going myself. Now that I’m back home and able to get in some fishing myself I am still a loyal fan. You sure helped me get through a dark place and I want to thank you for it

@@VernBigDaddy Thank you very much. And the same thing for you. Tight lines and good health. And make sure to use tick spray. Encephalitis and Lyme disease and Alphagal from a tick bite just about ended everything.

What rod/reel combo and line are you using for the slick lure? I get a lot of bites just have trouble with getting a commitment. I use spinners as well
@CaptCollier
@CaptCollier 5 ай бұрын
You’ll want a medium heavy fast action rod. That’s what I prefer anyways. Something with some good back bone but enough tip action to make that lure work like it should. Hope this helps!

The bite has been really fun here on the gulf coast …. I tried to buy some croakers (short on time) and ended up catching 4 good 20”ers before the sharks showed up. Have you ever caught a shark on a slick lure ? I may swap when I’m getting sharked 🤣
@CaptCollier
@CaptCollier 5 ай бұрын
Yea the sharks are definitely a problem. I have before but you definitely won’t hook as many throwing a slick that’s for sure

I don't eat trout either brother. there's better tasting fish to catch and trout are so cool looking I let em all go. my biggest is 28 and a half inches. still hunting for that 30"er here in Tampa Bay.

That is your opinion…..I personally prefer speckle trout over any fish. Im glad you don’t like them….leaves more for me to catch. You will never catch me in Tampa bay! 🤮 I fish the Clearwater area and Louisiana. 👍🇺🇸

PLEASE! Wet your hands before handling these breeders. These fish have a really high mortality rate after they are caught and released especially when the slime coat is taken away.

My man don’t ever think that is cheating because before artificial baits were invented that’s the way FISH was caught so if anything you’re just going back to the roots of fishing, not cheating tight lines and have fun
