@@kerriewithpurpose5722 plant based whole foods has shown to be a great way to lose weight. BUT if you (royal you, not you specifically) are not ready for it, just slowly start incorporating more and more vegetables to your meals and fruits to your snacks. Eventually you might get to a totally plant based whole food diet if that’s what you want, or you’ll find a diet that works for you somewhere on the way. I’ve also found mindful eating has helped me figure out what I really like and what keeps me feeling good all the way through my system. Maybe even journaling what you eat and how your meals make you feel. I tried journaling and it only lasted like a week, but that “failed” attempt has made me mentally take note of how foods make me feel, even if I’m too lazy to actually write it down. That helps me eat healthy, and control portions when I’m eating unhealthy, cuz I’m familiar with the amount of Nutella I can eat without getting a stomach ache later

This confirms my reality. Lo mein is one of my comfort foods -- it's cheap, and uses lots of veggies -- at least 2 cups of sliced onion, cabbage, and carrots, I add eggs for protein, and I switch between rice noodles (pad thai), semolina spaghetti, and whole wheat spaghetti depending on what I have. I mix up a sauce with soy sauce, oyster sauce, red chili flakes, sesame oil, and some tahini or peanut butter. make a big batch and eat it over three days. I don;t know if I lose weight but I feel less bloated and it is a very satisfying meal.

You literally changed my whole perspective and relationship with food. I love that now instead of feeling like I'm eating too much and that i should eat less, now when I'm unsatisfied i just check what am I not eating enough of. Now i feel like i eat so balanced and just stay satisfied for so much longer, reducing a lot on those random cravings.

I love this. I’ve been recently adding more protein and fiber to my meals. More chicken or tofu, more of the healthier seeds/nuts, low fat Greek yogurt (also use this to Make my own sauces), and more high fiber veggies. It’s so much easier than aiming for goals such as “less carbs or less calories”.

Honestly, as someone who’s studied nutrition for 3 years and compete in advanced submission wrestling. All nuts are pretty healthy. - But just be wary how much you eat is all. Anything can be unhealthy if you consume too much. - Personally for me and my body I aim for a handful per serving size. Combine this with some vegetables or fruits and you’re getting a lot of micronutrients. - Some examples are magnesium, nuts are amazing at this, reducing the spasms we sometimes get after working out. My mother used to have a lot of pain in her leg, now it’s all gone.

Reversing diabetes is all about reducing inflammation in the body. Any type of restrictive diet only exacerbates stress/inflammation and as a result, diabetes. Walking, meditation, high water intake… think more in terms of adding rather than subtracting, and you will reverse diabetes. And get tested for sleep apnea!
@Love-eg2vf
@Love-eg2vf Жыл бұрын
@@eatwhatukiii2532 There is a 1 diabetic on here who actually did an experiment where he increased his carb intake dramatically, and found that he needed way less insulin as a result. Meaning, his diabetes improved. He was eating only high quality carbs though, such as fruit, oatmeal, etc. His channel is “Type one talks”. The idea that carbs cause diabetes or make it worse is nonsense. The blue zones, where people regularly live past 100, are 80% plus carb diets. Carbs are not the enemy, and low carb diets have been shown to backfire over the long term; when they reintroduced carbs, their blood sugar would go crazy because they couldn’t metabolize it properly. They key to diabetes reversal is reducing inflammation; a lot more walking and movement, a lot more water, better sleep (getting checked for sleep apnea is a big one), and adding foods (fermented foods especially) actually works wonders to reverse diabetes. It doesn’t work as fast as restrictive fad diets do, but it actually works in the long term. Any type of restrictive diet imposes a lot of stress on a physical level, but especially a psychological level. This could be a reason that people on those diets constantly preach about it and argue about it online. The ideal “diet” is one in which you just eat and don’t have to constantly think about what you’re eating. Flexibility is key, but it starts with implementing a lot of small habits.

I'm 4'10" and 205lbs, but I 100% improved my health (even if I didn't drop much weight) when I focused on balancing my diet and making sure I was getting enough variety. Like, my cholesterol improved, my liver improved, my blood sugar and blood pressure and heart rate - literally everything any of my doctors were worried about improved just because I cut out the one thing that was really hurting me (gluten) and made sure I was eating a tasty variety of foods I liked and that made me feel good, like dried fruits and homemade meatballs, or tuna pasta salad made with gluten free rotini, tomatoes, olives, and flavored white balsamic vinegar! Nutrition is sooooo important and it's really important to disentangle it from this fear people have, socially, of looking like me, because if you (general you) don't, it'll hurt both you and me. I worry a lot about people less fat than me hurting themselves to avoid looking like me, when I'm fine! Fat, yes; disabled, yes; but I'm fine, I'm happier than I've ever been with my body before, and if anything, that makes me more aesthetically pleasing than being skinny and miserable could ever be.

Not only does increasing your protein and healthy fats keep you feeling satisfied for longer, it especially helps with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. I had a poor diet and found out I was vitamin-deficient even though I had been taking a daily supplement. I increased my protein and healthy fats and it has made a huge difference. Always talk to your doctor and see what you can do.

While not for a lot of people, using a calorie counter helped me a lot for this. Not because I needed to have a caloric budget but because it helped me realize when I need more food and more protein. I was so worried about my weight that I underate breakfast and lunch and binged later. I also didn’t have enough nutrient diversity. Now every week I get individualized feedback on whether I should incorporate some more berries or if I didn’t lift many weights that week and that helps me remember to eat a wide variety of foods. Eating a lot of every macro and micro helped me so much in staying satisfied and happy. Good luck to everyone on their journey!

As someone who studied dietetics it’s a shame they don’t put more biochem into dietetics, the sad truth is a lot of physique, fitness, weight loss has to do with hormones vs diet. When my hormones are normal I can eat typically anything and stay lean. Once my hormones are low I will gain weight eating very little. I am going to study biochem instead of dietetics now because that is what’s going to help the most people

I failed and gave up and end up eating again and gained so much weight. Right now, I don’t even care about cal, I care about the protein and good carb content and eat something I want in moderation. I am so so so consistent I’m not kidding and when I exercise, I don’t feel tired . Throughout my journey so far have been so much better and not restrictive. It's just the way you stop thinking of "oh I need to diet for x months loose weight" to "oh I can slightly change my meals, get used to those changes, make them a routine, so I can enjoy my meals without the thought of a diet and restrictions". I think it’s important to note that weight loss occurs when you’re restricting your caloric intake. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. Also, the ingredients we put in our bodies matter because things can build up in the gut, cell membranes, fatty tissue etc. These foods can cause inflammation, chronic illness, and deteriorate the healthy bacteria your body needs

Adding fiber to my diet was kind of a life changer. I hadn't realized I wasn't getting enough and adding more protein and veggies helped balance things out. Life Stress left me with an eating disorder because food tasted like sandpaper and if throw up thinking about eating. I was living on whole fat milk and fries alone just to avoid weight loss. So I got into nutrition Smoothies. And then had dental surgery and thankfully not being physically able to eat helped combat some of the sandpaper-nausea and left me wanting to chew. But I still struggled with what and how to eat. So I started to take the smoothies as an example of balancing my nutrition. If I'm hungry and have had a fiber snack/drink, and am still hungry, I can have something off my craving list like some cookies or popcorn. But most often, I have found my body is asking me for something on the nutrition spectrum that I haven't been listening to.

So I just ended up having a lot more meat than usual especially because its a polite convention here to keep serving more and more food into a guest's plate.

Thank you for sharing. It took me years to realize this. Back in high school and early years of college I deprived myself of so much because I didn't know. And the media always made carbs the enemy. I have no problem with eating carbs now.

I always count calories to lose weight. I eat plenty of lean protein and pair it with plenty veggies. I'm not afraid of carbs I just make sure to have protein and veggies with them. My favorite carbs are lean 40 calorie bread and brown rice 🌾🍚🌾 I heard shrimp cocktail sauce has carbs (who would've thought?) But shrimp cocktail is also a big part of my diet. I was 176 lbs last year, this year I'm 114 lbs!

I realized this was the reason I didn't feel healthy despite being a good weight when I tried a machine that measures your antioxidant levels. My score was sooo low! No wonder I got sick all the time. I started eating fruit with breakfast each day since it was the meal I had the most control of. The more consistent I was, the more I craved fruits and veggies and the less I craved junk food. Feeling much healthier now!

Balance (no restrictions) eat what you need. -fruit and veggies, whole grains(oats, whole wheat,pasta,brown rice), healthy protein (legumes and quinoa) Healthy fats(nuts and seeds) Eating whole foods= GREAT! Process foods & refined food=Meh, eat it with moderation

Mid-year, I gave up sugar, alcohol and carbs for six months, ate one meal a day at dinner, at a calorie deficit (although I did not aggressively track my calories), and I shed 35 pounds. We do what is necessary to succeed.

I used to avoid carbs; not only I felt tired and agitated all the time but also I barely lost any weight. Now I eat a balanced diet with varieties of plant-based food, I feel energetic, and I don’t gain any weight!

I started eating better for my skin, I was eating too many processed foods and wasn’t thinking about what I was putting into my body. The only thing I’ve cut out experimentally for my acne is dairy. I still eat fat, sugar, carbs, even the occasional fast food but because I’ve started consciously adding more fresh whole foods and eating way more vegetables and drinking unsweetened teas instead of soda or milk, I keep losing weight! I keep having to buy new pants and I am loving it 😂😍

Well it has been proven that the only way to loose weight is a calorie deficit meaning you’re still supposed to eat enough but cut down a few calories by for example working out and getting enough sleep etc. or even eating less if you do not workout (make sure you know whats best for your body and don’t fall into unhealthy patterns just because you feel like you should exceed that line)
