Also, I've been finding that Dinotomaton puts in a HUGE amount of work in my red aggro decks. I've ended up picking it way higher than most other 4 drops when I'm building aggro, and i've found that it's been the right choice pretty much every time. Had an incredible RB aggro list that I snagged a couple of Dinotomatons for fairly highly, and they just ruined my opponents every time I played them on curve.

Think the issue for you playing in Mythic is all the top players are heavily drafting the 1 drops and other aggressive cards which are undervalued by the lesser players in the pods and as you don't play against your pod, you're playing against a disproportionate amount of the same cards.

I dunno if it just happens to be the last few pods that I've been in, but in my last 3 or 4 drafts ,I've felt like I've been totally bullied into certain colors during drafting, and then I randomly don't even find ANY good cards for the colors that I'm forced into in the first place. I'll start with (for example) a really good green pick, then have no good green cards in the next pack, so I'll pick the next best card which happens to be in, say, red, then the NEXT pack I get, I see neither green *nor* red, and so on and so forth until I'm picking the absolute dredges of the set out of packs and getting a pack with 5 extremely shit black cards by pick 6 or 7. I just don't get it.

Tunnel grinder is such a bomb and I'm pretty sure has one of the highest win rates on 17lands. It's slower but being able to discover every turn once it flips is nuts.

no, its winrate is mediocre because doing effectively nothing to the board state on turn 3 in this format is kinda a death sentence. this format is just bad and too fast for that kind of card tbh. its not a bad card but its not a priority pick at all even though it will feel disgusting in games you win with it.

Looking through the draft,, I think Kenji would've been better off going into black instead of red. I know black's the worst color in the set, but it's still plenty playable, and some of the best black commons like Titihing Blade and Deathcap Marionette were coming around SUPER late - I think I saw a deathcap 14th pick!

I think these synergy sets are a little rough drafting because staying open sometimes isn’t rewarded because half your deck doesn’t mesh with the other half. Like blue, either it’s artifacts or descend, you can’t really pivot from blue artifacts to blue black descend so great. It’s almost more rewarding to just force a deck right off the bat

Yeah, I think the real problem is that wizards is so reticent to make good pivot cards. There are a few (dinotomaton for r/u and r/g, since it's both an artifact and a dino, lodestone needle arguably because it's an artifact and a repeatable explore source), but there are only a very small pool of them, which makes it very hard to pivot effectively. It also doesn't help that many of the synergies have really REALLY anemic card pools (ub descend seems to get nothing that incentivizes it over gb descend, and most of the gb descend cards are far easier to get the effect off of), or their best cards are just better somewhere else (looking at you, gu explore), or their viable card pools is miniscule (looking at you AGAIN, gu explore)

you made a lot of bad picks. look at 17 lands for the proper ones. waylaid is higher winrate than dinaton. cogwork is massively high winrate. eaten by piranhas sucks , pirates hat is mediocre & hermitic is a defensive card in an aggressive archetype, mine cart is too slow as well.

if you want to play this way, go look at 17 lands and search for all-time draft leaders for trophies and winrates following cards based on the stats you referenced is a great place for introductory level but at some point you need to make your own decisions
