This was my disaster battle; I was doing a thematic campaign using only Stormvermin. So what happened was I started a push with Queek with a Stormvermin stack into the Silver Road after Karaz A Karak declared war on Clan Venus. I took the High Place killing 2 full stacks but losing a higher-level hero who had the Skalm. Then the turn after I pushed into Mt Squighorn killing another army which caused some damage to my army. I took The Pillars of Grungni and during the endturn Karaz A Karak marched two full stacks next to their capital. I was able to beat the first army, but Queek took massive damage against the lord and after I won, I was stuck in their zone of control, so I had to attack and retreat from that battle to not get sandwiched by the garrison in Karaz A Karak. After reading some comments I would like to note that I thought Sword and Shield would be better since they had more melee defense and slightly lower upkeep. Also, I got a defensive alliance with the Last defenders after giving them a t1 Lahmia in an effort to not get into a multi front war.

Sorry but isn't the halberd version cheaper with 250? And the difference of 262 for shielded, 250 from halberd is neglectable. Also the true cause that puts you in a pinch is you splitting 3 armies. It is good that you are focusing all your force on one enemy, not fighting 2 wars at the same time, but they are all so far apart, you let yourself be divided and conquered. It's always better to have 2 half armies support each other than 2 full armies doing each of their own things.

The most noteworthy thing about this campaign is that the player somehow had an alliance with a lizardmen faction when playing as skaven. Must have taken a lot of gifts to make that possible.

In my mind, this is one of three scenarios. 1: He's new and fell into a player trap like you've said. 2: He's doing this on purpose to see if you can win an impossible scenario. 3: This is a challenge, a Stormvurmin only challenge with some Chieftains supplementing them. Either of those can be why he's only using those units by themselves.

You can totally praise Legend's strategic prowess while recognizing that the AI is so fucking dumb that it manages to lose to a damaged stormvermin stack. Seriously, all it needed to do was move while keeping a decent formation and using its ranged advantage. But by 6:40 it already becomes braindead

This is the problem: the AI doesn't control an army, it controls a bunch of units individually. At the start of the battle it marches in a line and LOOKS like it's controlling an army, but once fighting starts, each unit basically acts independently with no consideration of the army as a whole.

But the issue is the player can achieve that with this above all pov while the IA run its unit with the same efficiency as a general on foot.

@@SittingOnEdgeman its a benefit and detriment of the army because the ai is so stupid that it will go ahead and send one unit of like valuable melee infantry to the other side of the map that would do so much better with the main army, and the moment you look away it teleports behind you and eats your ranged units when you weren't paying attention. I'd stop 100 Calvary charges or routing units into my backline but I'd still forget to deal those fuckers because *why* would they be there.

@@antisaltknight887 a general at least has a plan before batte that is shared between the regiments. Of course its not followed perfectly most of the time, but there should be cohesion until the frontlines colide, and sometimes even a retreat path. The AI starts losing cohesion the moment the battle starts, like when it reforms the whole army just because there is a new reinforcing unit, or you move your lord a bit and tries to mirror your balance of power "frontline". It needs to be redesign from scratch, because the way it handles the complexity of the game cant be improved much more with its current script system. And I doubt CA has the resources to do it.

I mean why all sword and shield version? In Warhammer 3 armor piercing is literally the most important stat and the sword and shield Bois barely got any. If anyone wanna do Storm vermin stack shouldn't they do two handed? Better yet, how about some teamwork, like 20%shield and 80% two handed? Rats together strong after all.

@@minmean3016 it definitely looks like a challenge campaign. And about de AP, if I recall correctly, a unit with 100 armor only blocks half of the non AP damage. It needs 200 armor to block all of it.

@@juanfp ask cathay and high elf how their seemingly invincible tier 1 army gets mopped by some random chaos/dwarf tin-cans, while armor isn't important for player to stack, armor piercing is an essential part of any army. Also if it's a challenge run then they woefully overestimated shielded-storm vermin strength, and they shouldn't split the army into 3.

I always found Stormvermin to be pretty decent, they punch well above their weight and can hold points quite nicely dealing good DMG, I get them and replace my inf as soon as I can with them because they perform so good. They work really well in conjunction with the Skaven specialists.

Unstoppable one rat doomstack Queek single-pawedly murder-kills entire Dwarf-thing army without taking a scratch! Some clanrats disguised as stormvermin may have perished at the scene. 13/13 warpstone tokens for the execution of the battle. However, the visual representation of the battle is a 1/13. Everything was centered around the mangy-furred, worthless assistant Gottri, a rat of no consequence, and there was a distinct lack of cinematic shots of Mighty Queek majestically beholding the outcome of his brilliant planning-scheming. Clearly the outcome of twisted propaganda from Clan Skryre!!

Basic Skaven rule: against Dwarfs, use POISON WIND GLOBADIERS and the DEATH GLOBE BOMBARDIERS! Mortar weapon teams work too, but they are less accurate. Jezzails against Lords and Heroes, Ratling guns against Gyrocopters, but not against infantry, their hit box is just too small for the inaccurate Ratling guns. When playing Clan Eshin, the Gutter Runners can be good too thanks to their additional armor piercing damage. But Stormrats are just the wrong kind of troops for going against an enemy like Dwarfs. Way too tough and armor-crusted.
