Surprisingly, I spent my first 100 hours in HOI4 with console commands. 900 hours later and I am now able to defeat the US and russia by 1941. While it may seem unhelpful, CC's can definetly give you experience in managing with the game's UI and stuff

Somethings about this game really frustrate me. Like transport planes being completely useless unless you have the dlc that lets you air supply, or that supply hubs are the most expensive things to build, it's so dumb, makes fighting anywhere other than western Europe a nightmare. Bad supply should just mean that it takes time to build up supply for an attack, not that you just can't have any organisation

quick tip use ( IC )command only when you paused the game and thin use The same command to disable it and for Ships use ( IT )

I started playing HoI4 by using the console. It's absolutely fine for new players to get used to the game without getting destroyed as easily! Even nowadays, when I don't feel like playing seriously, I use the console to autocomplete focuses and add factories. It's a game! I want to have fun!

My first game was a co op with a friend who introduced me to the game, but it was the WWI mod, and he added a x1000 mod and I still managed to get the majority of our forces trapped in Brazil.

its mostly about knowing which equipment to build rather than how many factories you have. if you only build tanks and heavy fighter or whichever underpowered units you are gonna have a hard time. iv been playing for years and only just found out that inf art and cas is all you need. i used to make mental templates with all kinds of crazy shit in it thinking i was smart. its a very poorly balanced game. hard attack is completely irrelevent on single player

CAS is useful in singleplayer because enemy ai never put AA in their template, in mp ppl build anti-air tanks

Vortex forgot to do "add_latest_equipment 2000000" and delete all production lines and should've mass built civies + naval dockyards and exploited the naval production continuous focus in the focus tree. Also, he should've just done "research all" because if that was the case his navy would just literally delete the Royal Navy because apparently in the base game you get more attack. By the way, he should've just done "manpower 2000000000" to give himself 2 billion mp which is, in a way, unlimited mp. That or in the base game, he should've just maxed out tactics by using "Research_on_icon_click" tbf, if he wanted to make it harder on himself.

the problem with this game is it is counter intuitive. one would assume a balanced army with all types of armaments would be the best but in reality you want to spam infantry soft attack artillery and cas. its basically impossible to assume such an unvaried roster could be succesful. "surely I will need fighters to protect my cas" is no doubt a common thought amongst noobs. personally i built fighters for about 3 year irl before realising they are waste of production because i watched a youtube video. i didnt come to this realisation myself cuz its downright stupid and counter intuitive

Your a little harsh there. In my first game I lost to the Czechs because I didnt know how to do a frontline. Now I have 2500h and all achivements but everyone starts out with some cheating and those mistakes
