most smelly bacteria is developed from feet sweat that gets into your shoes and creates bacteria in the shoes themselves.. so the smell only barely originates from the feet basically, it just brings sweat into shoes. you might just be used to the smell from your shoes and dont notice it very often. you just need to clean your shoes more often, use isopropyl alcohol, spray bottle throughout the shoe, will kill all that bacteria. if you wear the same shoes everyday this isn’t ideal, so be sure to at least have an additional pair, and don’t reuse socks. that should be all it takes

Your body does clean itself though. Cleaning it manually diminishes your body’s ability to do it. If you smell and you don’t have something nasty on you you’re pretty much definitely not in good health. Often people end up smelling bad after not washing because you don’t have a natural biome on your skin. Often people have fungal and bacterial breakouts if they don’t incessantly clean themselves. Years ago I had severe dry skin. I work get rashes from it and they weren’t painful, but annoyingly itchy. My mother worked for a Dermatologist at the time so I made an appointment. The Doc told me not to use soap everywhere, just in certain areas where the skin rubbed on other skin and places like armpits which would stink. I did just that, but if I worked outside in a dirty environment I would was everything with soap. So I believe this guy.
@thetechlibrarian11 ай бұрын
I can absolutely confirm this. One time about 12 years ago I was homeless in the summer time for about 7-8 months, I couldn’t shower every day and spent a lot of time outside, let me tell you I never felt so physically well as I did then. I had tons of energy and was awake at sunrise every morning. If I needed to walk 2 miles to something I didn’t think twice , fast forward today and I have a pretty cushy Job and house and I can hardly get out of bed. I always said the sunlight and not putting the chemicals on my skin every day, heck maybe even the tap water significantly contributed to my physical feeling.

I had a similar experience but wasn't really homeless per se. I used to work seasonally on a farm which provided very primitive living(is that a haybale in the mud?! No, it's a matress!😅) and I always had energy, strength, good sleep, thick hair, no pain, clear skin and mind and lots of motivation. "Showers" meant using a hose once in a while and if you got really lucky on a sunny day where nobody else wanted a shower, you could coil up a long black hose in the sun and get 2 whole minutes of warm water in a few hours! lol of course it's also been 10 years, so that's a factor too, but now that I own a house and have all the creature comforts I want, I'm more unwell than ever lol I'm such a sucker for comfort that I'll kill myself with it if I'm not forced into discomfort regularly. I struggle to even take a cold shower anymore, even though I know I'll feel better, it's just so hard to willingly choose discomfort sometimes!😅 being young and broke was seriously one of the best eras of my life lol

Remember folks, not using soap & not having any personal hygiene are two different things. You can still clean the sweat & dirt off without soap, & if you don’t you’ll smell horrible & be way more prone to infection. Edit for clarity: People are so stuck in the idea that soap=cleaning, that they assume no soap=no cleaning at all. This is a very dangerous mindset if something like this situation happens, because that kind of black & white thinking lets individuals like this slip through the cracks, & they often end up diving off the deep end, radicalized against all mainstream health advice. “Some” is better than “none”, especially in matters like hygiene, nutrition, exercise, & other heath impacting issues.

So there is nothing wrong with admitting to not seeing a problem that is being claimed - otherwise how else would you build a statistic to disprove such claims? @timurthejerk9270 For me, it is wrong. Unless you're from some remote island where you've never been around, other people accept those in your tribe or village. I don't see how showering on a regular basis would make you sick. Yes, I know some people have sensitive skin and allergies, but they also make soaps for those people, too. Not to mention, you don't have to use the big name brand soaps. You can use black soap, oatmeal soap, or hell, make it yourself. Lol, how did my opinion bother you, but someone telling people it's okay to not wash their ass for 5yrs doesn't? LOL
@timurthejerk9270 Жыл бұрын
@@kitaboo206 your genuinely an idiot, or just hard of hearing nobody said to not shower for 5 years the main point being reached here is to don’t overuse or use in excess, because your body’s job is to naturally fought off bacteria, to supplement rather than supplant. Showering everyday isn’t even necessary as a constant shower of water just leaves the skin dry and humid as it strips away natural oils.

My husband and I couldn’t find any soap or body wash that wasn’t full of a billion artificial chemicals, so I decided to make my own soap. Only 6 ingredient; unrefined extra virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, raw shea butter, essential oil for scent and lye. Amazingly soft and natural soap that smells amazing. And it’s so fun using different moulds.

I haven't used soap on my face in a decade, it's how I got rid of my cystic acne. I stopped using deodorant in 2014. I noticed that the only time I have body odor is when I stress about things. If I stop stressing, I stop stinking. I wash my hair once or twice a month and bathe every 3-4 months. I went from super oily flaky skin and hair to clear "normal" skin and hair. Twice a week is reasonable. That’s every 3-4 days, so unless u work outside in the heat, u will likely not smell… After reading the comments here, I saw that some ppl are only showering with water and no soap or anything else to get the stink off🤢, so I think we are good lol. It’s funny tho, cuz if u dare admit that u skipped one single day they’ll tell u how gross and disgusting you are; yet they have old dirty couches they lay on every single day that don’t ever get washed, old dirty carpets that have never been shampooed, they never clean/sanitize their phone, door handles, etc. But WERE the gross ones lmao. I just find it funny that they keep washing something that isn’t dirty over and over (ie their body), yet completely ignore things that are ACTUALLY dirty 🙄
@Sarahopal10 ай бұрын
@kayleigh3648 for real! I use natural soaps but I use soap. I had to go to a Dr once for a skin thing and she said "you have the softest skin I've ever seen, you must not use lotions". The beauty industry is not doing us any favors. They give us lotions that dry our skin (if you use it your body stops making its own) lip balm that dries our lips, soaps that kill our good bacteria.... getting customers for life. I had a roommate that said using my towel more than once was disgusting (I just dried my clean body with it and hung it to dry) but he hadn't washed his sheets in weeks (that his dirty body had laid in lol).
@ADreamingTraveler Жыл бұрын
I learned that washing your hair less actually keeps it cleaner and less greasy. Unless you're getting it dirty somehow it's a better idea to shampoo your hair once every few days at least. Do not do it every day. I used to wash mine 1 or 2 days later and it would always get really greasy and bad within 2 days. When I stopped washing it so much it actually stayed healthier and less greasy looking for longer.
@zorkmid1083 Жыл бұрын
Also, you might be able to reduce the amount of shampoo you use. Find out how much gets your hair really clean, then use about half or a bit more. By removing the dirt but not all the oil, your glands won't be encouraged to dump a load of oil back into your hair.

I use soap after I use the bathroom, have been working in the yard, working with something oily and when I cook. I only use soap on my hair three or four times a year. In the summer when my body gets very oily I will use the shower and minimal amounts of soap, but it’s rarely more than once every week or two. Otherwise, I wear natural fibers to wick moisture and oils off my skin, dry brush to exfoliate and use a warm wet wash cloth with no soap daily for places that are most known for getting stinky. My hair is very long and I wear it in protective styles and cover it then I’m working outside, cleaning and cooking to keep it clean. I use deodorant every day and I do like to wear perfume when I’m feeling fancy. I’ve never had anyone tell me I smell, laugh at me, avoid coming too close or try to stay very far away. So many people don’t realize that staying clean and odor free and being presentable in the world doesn’t require tons of soap and gobs of products.

Why not use soap once a week or once a month? How is that going to harm you? You don't need to use soap on the majority of your skin on a regular basis. Body odor is only produced in the armpits and pubic area (since they contain special apocrine sweat glands). Wash THOSE areas daily with soap, but the rest of your skin is fine with just water (unless you're particularly dirty for whatever reason)
