Go play tank in quickplay win 1 fight with you doing something and you are countered. Roll out on ball or winston and kill a dps and play against bastion or mei or reaper instantly. Roll the mercy one to many times and have fun playing against zen. Thats the life of tank. Get instantly countered after 1 good or decent play in quickplay. Pre sombra nerf, you know how I played winston for a total of 3 fights? By starting on wrecking ball, making 1 of the dps go sombra and then when I died go winston. They wouldn't swap instantly because they already had 40% emp. So I could get 2 or 3 fights of winston before they went reaper or bastion. And the other dps was mostly likely already on 80% ult by the time I swapped to winston so he wouldn't go reaper or bastion. Hell, I played with a friend of mine on a new account we played against AI. I swear to god the moment our dva killed both AI dps they instantly swapped to Sym and Mei. Even the AI bots instantly hardcounter...

To be fair, that reaper ult on second point was definitely very avoidable by his teammates.

But counter point as the doom it was very easy to tell what the reaper was up to. I audibly said "he's 100 percent going to ult" then it happened 2 seconds later. We don't have the chat so maybe he vocalized it but he didn't ping where the reaper was going to warn his team. So from there perspective reaper jumped out of the sky ulting. Avoidable with better positioning 100 percent unreasonable to expect it because silver also yes

@ignisx3791 I don't have tiktok, I solved one of those problems. Also I don't believe in that at all. I have proven it myself time after time that I can climb if I put some time and effort into it. I don't feel like I need to climb at all at the moment. I'm fine with the ranks I'm playing in now. Gameplay is enjoyable, don't have to think as much during the game and can basically just autopilot and stay in the ranks. And if I do lose a bunch I can stop autopiloting, turn my brain on and focus and rank up again. Yes sometimes I have the most braindead teammates ever. But if I focus I can still win those. I am diamond on tank and support and high/mid plat on dps. I don't want to play orisa for example nor bastion nor mei or sym like ever. I don't like playing against those heroes nor do I like playing them. But yes, when I start counterswapping people it's very easy, but not fun at all. I still swap heroes but I won't go bastion against a rein for example, I'll go hanzo instead, find that more enjoyable.

This reminded me of the "all in" Winston that was on my team once. Only he went straight to the backline every time, was almost never able to get back out, and almost never got a kill while he was there. After we got pushed back to 3rd point on Circuit Royale he started complaining that our supports (one of them was me on Mercy) weren't healing him and no one was following him in, to which everyone responded "please Mr. Frodo, don't go where I can't follow" and he responded with "that's how you play Winston, I'm diving and you guys just don't get it." I did point out that I used my Valk just to try to keep up with him and keep him alive when he went shoulder deep in the enemy team with his Primal and I couldn't survive while flying 30 feet above the enemy at Mach 10, told him I had to back out, and he stayed there and died. I activated my final form to keep him alive in his final form and it was literally impossible.

A tip I can give you in these situations when its clear they are not going to swap or adjust their playstyle, is to make the adjustment to help them out and dive with them. That way he doesn't have to peel as much as he may even secure elims and get value. What I mean by that is that you as a team make the desicion to go full dive comp. So go reddit lucio and kiriko tp or moira fade with him and assisinate the targets, go tracer/sombra and genji or kiriko/moira mercy phara and help him with follow up. Otherwise all he does is feed and get 0 value while you as a team get rolled. Yes it may still not work at all, however you know you have tried all you could. Even if you are god awful at those heroes, if you are certain what you are doing is impossible make the desicion to as a team do something stupid. As jayne used to say, if 1 person does something stupid its just stupid, if an entire team does something stupid its a strategy.

@Siks7Ate9 You have to be really careful diving with Kiriko as following someone like a Winston or Sombra in can get you insta-dead if they are surrounded. 5 vs. 2 is still really bad odds ,and shadow step's cooldown is far longer than Winston's leap or Sombra's translocator.

@LadyVineXIII yes, however if you time it as the enemy uses cooldowns to engage upon you they suddenly don't have those to even close that distance. And if your dead either way because you are the only none mobile hero then it doesn't matter. You may just deal enough damage to help the winston secure the elims on the enemy backline allowing the rest of the team together with the other support to clean up the kills. If you trade for a ana for example you get back to your team faster and the ana won't be outhealing the damage the winston is doing together with the other support. This can then cause a snowball effect pretty rapidly. It's basically a tank mentality when you are completely out of resources and out of position and you know you are dead. Get as much resources and focus from the enemy team as you can for the remainder of your life.

If you're plat then you have been playing for long enough to know that his gameplay is gimmicky at best, his set up on game start was impressive but not 30 seconds later you can tell it's something he saw and copied and it doesn't reflect his skill level, he missed his shift when going for high ground a few times, multiple times he would slam punch in and then keep flicking up meaning that he was unaware of his Slam's cooldown he was unaware that he just used it, on first and second point he tried punching the tank off the map not taking into consideration the knock back reduction, his block was always used as an afterthought not used against a particular ability or as a part of a play but as something he uses when he is taking damage and it's the remaining ability that is off cooldown which was inferred by his delayed use of the ability , not to mention that there was very little in terms of target priority. Make no mistake I am not here to call a silver player bad or pick on someone who is having fun playing doom (who is a lot of fun), I am here to argue why you, my fellow player think that he's mechanically on the same level as you (Plat)

I have noticed that a major differentiator between the ranks when it comes to dive tanks is knowing how and when to disengage. Another one is their awareness of their supports. I don't hate dive tanks, but I definitely keep in mind if I have a Ball or a Doom on my team that they will always instantly LoS me, demand heals and then die when they don't get them. I also can't risk diving with these tanks because I know that they will leave me behind. Zen and Ana seem to be the answer a lot on support at my rank (silver/gold) because I can just chuck out the heals at range without having to dive myself. I also know that Dooms and Balls will never swap and rarely peel so I look to my DPS and my fellow support for help when I need it. EDIT: I am shocked. This guy did not bounce off to Narnia near as much as I was expecting. He even peeled a couple of times.

Doom is either feast or famine but no matter which one it is, the Doom usually thinks they're doing great. Watch Guxue play Doom, he perfectly knows how to engage, get some damage in or maybe even a kill and disengage before you get punished. That's what Doom is all about.

I wish every "dive" tank would watch this video and listen to the part about constantly diving the enemy backline and letting your team get wrecked. A single brawler tank with a pocket healer can easily take out your entire team when you open the door for that to happen by removing yourself from the frontline. There's a reason tanks kept their cc abilities when ow1 became ow2 while almost everyone else lost their cc abilities, tanks control the battlefield.
