Cockatrice have always been some of my favorite designs and I'm glad that Monster Hunter has one now. I think it also adds to the grounded realsim of the game instead of over the top fantastical magic creatures

I feel like Arkvelds design is not very monster huntery? It looks cool but I cant help but feel it looks like something from halo lol. Maybe i just need to see it in game for it to look more like a monster hunter monster.

Well they did say it was thought to be extinct. Extinct life on our world can look like an alien planet sometime so that logic could and most likely does apply to the monster hunter world as well

@@athos9293 It’s not really a concern. they’ve done this in the past. Often they’ll make weird looking and standout designs diverging from the norm to create a sense of something that isn’t quite where it’s supposed to be. Take a look at Xeno’jiva for example. Alien looking mf shooting lasers at the end of a game where a lot of the monsters are very intertwined within the ecology of the world. Xeno is very much not part of the ecosystem and therefore looks alien to reflect that. The thing that makes this specific new monster interesting is the fact we don’t know what it is. Could be a brute or flying wyvern, could be an elder dragon and it could just be an outlier. Still looks like a halo design tho lol
