Years ago I waited on him in a restaurant. He had about 6 people with him. Everything went well and at the end the bill was handled by someone with him. He gave me a pretty good tip. All of a sudden, Rodney came back in and gave me $50, which in those days was a lot! He said, " Have a good life kid!

I know right! My son fell in love with 80's Billy Cosby stand up. And good lord, Mel Brooks movies from the 70's & 80's are some of his favorites ever. Andrew Dice Clay stand up & movie from the 80's made him laugh so hard his bodily function kinda got weak laughing so hard. All this started around the age 6. He's 18 now, & tries to show it to his friends. A good bit of them can't keep their attention on it long enough to watch it. Others love it, & never heard of any of it. And some just can't get it at all. But younger ppl will really love these comedians. 🇺🇸

Comedy is timeless and comedians try not to steal so that’s why you have to go back in time to see some content. I remember listening to Redd Foxx album my dad had and I had never heard anyone talk like that. Also, comedy is subjective. If you’re the only one laughing then that’s funny. I can’t tell you how many times I busted up laughing out loud before realizing I was the only one laughing. Then I’m laughing at that too 🤣🤣🤣

Van, I 100% agree with you about how people need to laugh at comedy shows. It's a proven fact that laughing, even when it isn't genuine, raises the good hornome levels in your body and improves stress levels. Thats why we have "laugh therapy" and "laugh yoga" and I believer there are laugh parties too, but don't quote me on it. If you're paying to go see a funny human, you should be healthier when you left - because of all that good laughing you did inside. Don't be a hater, just enjoy the show! 🤪

This was the heyday of comedy in the 1960-70's, before too many people lost their collective minds along with their sense of humor. They weren't self conscious when laughing at the outrageous and ridiculousness of the human condition. The comedian's were equal opportunity offender's of the foibles on both the left and the right political types. Now everyone is so sensitive and easily offended they miss all the fun, and togetherness that used to be the American birthright.

I thought everything was funny. I was laughing throughout the whole video. I didn't realize this done in the 70s. I would have only been 4. I love going to comedy clubs and seeing like George Carlin, Gallagher and Howie Mandel when I was younger. Everyone should be laughing. Laughter is good for the mind and soul

If you do Archie Bunker, you have to do the Jeffersons. The creator of the show was given a chance with a show about a bigot and against all expectations, it worked. Two spinoffs: The Jeffersons, showing bigotry was not just for whites, and Maude -- Archie's sister-in-law One person Archie was nervous (afraid) to be around -- a crowd favorite who got her own show before Golden Girls. People laughed as bigotry was ridiculed on TV and helped, I think, people -- White and Black -- to see their own attitudes in a different light.

This man had a tragic childhood. Very tough! He turned his upbringing into a joke even though it was horrible. Dangerfield was my favorite comedian. Dangerfield's hardships were real and he just decided to laugh at them.

Rodneys always great. I had a record of him called no respect and wore it out when we were kids. You’re a good guy. Love how you try to get positivity, truth and love out there. That’s putting in the good work, Brother. God sees that. We do too

Rodney was the absolute best one liner joke tellers that ever graced the stage. I have seen all of his stuff and never get tired of it. He said his kid brother was so mean he would tape worms to the sidewalk so birds would get a hernia. His movies were off the chain also. I miss him. He was great
