love seeing the videos like this! Been working around with a wugtrio team since its "useless", but the triple dive can actually triple proc Palossand's water compaction giving it instant +6 defense and a weakness policy boost while doing 22-31% barring any crits. Wugtrio then also gets access to some super weird but interesting moves like momento if it stayed alive past turn 1, helping hand if you want to tera grass palossand into giga drain for health, or even a (admittedly weak, but still surprising) final gambit if they didn't target it turn 1 at all. I tested palossand with assault vest instead of weakness policy at first but it just doesn't pack enough punch without the +2 boost. You can also get access to amnesia and shore up at the cost of coverage, but I think realistically you can only pick one.

Johto has been getting evolutions since gen 3. For some reason they decided to load gen 2 without, like, finishing any of the pokemon in it. Whoever thought murkrow, togetic, misdreavous, aipom, etc were fine to leave as single stage mons with less-than baby mon stats was nuts. Poor ledian even evolved and got that treatment

This was a lot of fun. The strat worked really well when it did work, but because it's a bit gimmicky, once people start catching on it will become harder and harder to pull off, so the warning that it can be hard to use is really smart. I can imagine the more games you do the more teams you'll see where the strategy just gets more and more difficult to manage. That said, it still looked like tons of fun. For the QotD, I'm gonna say Jynx.

Wild seeing this combo popping off so much recently, I've been running it since scarlet and violet came out and I thought it'd just be a fun little secret until weedletwinnedle (love you) started showing it off. One thing that I found is actually friend guard full support maushold with beat-up, follow me, helping hand, and protect as a second dudunsparce activator with safety googles to not worry abount amoonguss rage powder redirecting the combo. The helping hand is surprisingly useful in helping dudun reach a couple ko thresholds that they otherwise wouldn't with boomburst and the third slot move (I ended up running earth power). I also ended up running a imprison trick room gardevoir since indeedee armarogue trick room lead was easily the hardest counter. I hope everyone really enjoys the combo and honestly it's way more consistant than you'd think, even when it's expected.

QOTD: Lots of single-stage Pokemon from Gen 3 either need or could use a new Evo. Sableye, Mawile, Absol, and Banette all received Megas and having a new evolution that can copy some of that design would be a great way to preserve Megas, give these Pokemon a much needed buff, and could be interesting lore-wise to boot. Meanwhile you have Pokemon like Kecleon, Tropius, and Castform that could use a much-needed buff to keep them competitive, especially given Pokemon's modern approach to design/balance.

back when intimidate was popular in gen 8 i tried to make dunsparce work with rattled and adrenaline orb to bulldoze ally metagross and provide glare support, was super gimmicky but satisfying, nice to see it evolve and be the powerhouse itself this time. i think crabominable, druddigon, tropius, cacturne would be cool contenders for evolutions as well, possibly ursaluna or kingambit esc dropping the speed a little but making them super strong and bulky

QOTD: I think that Cryogonal should get an evolvution because it's just a single snowflake and they could make it into a giant snowstorm Pokemon with a ton of speed, special attack, and special defense while also giving it snow warning. QOTD: I would have to say the rivals Zangoose and Seviper and I'd go even further and give them both a secondary type that beats the one type they are right now so Zangoose would be Normal/Ground or psychic and Seviper would be Poison/Fighting, and they would also get a signature move of their new dual type. On second thought psychic would make Zangoose 4x strong against seviper so maybe just ground Zangoose is fine.

Outlandish strats like this are what I imagined Doubles as before playing it. Shame they are *usually* risky and not really worth it. ESPECIALLY because Follow Me is so common. I'm honestly shocked they haven't introduced a Trueshot item yet that simulates abilities like Propeller Tail. Then I'd maybe consider self-target strats more often. When it comes to evolutions for old pokemon, I'd love to see, I'm always in the dilemma of "I want this favorite of mine to be stronger, but the evolution might lose what I like about the design". Sirfetch'd was a good example of that - I just never saw Farfetch'd as particularly knightly or elegant, much less the awesome Galar Farfetch'd. Meanwhile, Farigiraf kept everything I like about Girafarig and built on it, right down to the nice color scheme being expanded on. I'm willing to risk it for Dedenne though. Dedenne was my favorite Pika clone before the Pawmi line and I still think it has some unique things going for it. I'd love to see it become bulkier (stat-wise) so it can be a slightly tanky Fairy/Electric user of Cheek Pouch - an ability that I think is really cool but also really under-utilized.

Grumpig needs an evolution so badly! I used one on my playthrough and it definitely felt super weak the whole time. Spoink is one of my favorite Pokémon and so seeing it evolve into a true competitive beast would be awesome.

I started using loaded dice fury attack barraskewda with choice scarf tera steel annihilape for super strong and fast rage fists a couple days ago lol. Propeller tail helps u ignore redirection which is huge, and it’s speed allows u to be faster than annihilape and annihilape can be faster than meowscarada as well while retaining max attack adamant and a lot of HP. Obviously the strategy has some trouble with normal types, but barraskewda close combat with max attack (which is can retain without hurting ape too much) works well. Fake out and tailwind in their face also rly hurts the strategy. It’s definitely more of a fun goofy gimmick than anything but I won more games than expected, probably because of the surprise factor and BO1 format of ladder games The biggest issue is fury attacks 85% accuracy, but pin missle also has less than 100% accuracy, so I think that it balanced out with barraskewdas redirection immunity. Literally earlier today a friend of mine mentioned trying loaded dice pin missile jolteon, it’s crazy it was used in a real strategy!

QOTD: I'd really like to see Solrock and Lunatone get some love in some way. I held out for megas for them in ORAS, but that never came true. I especially like Solrock's design. Obviously Rock/Psychic is far from an ideal typing, but giving them some extra power with that ground immunity in levitate could make them stand out a bit.

Even though this is a special dudunsparce set i actually think an argument can be made for running Hyper Drill. It seemed like one of the ways to play around the Dudunsparce sweep was to protect with the mon being targeted by Stored Power and hopefully ko'ing it with your other mon, but if you run Hyper Drill, even with no attack investment, with regular stab + weakness policy i think it should still do decent damage and Hyper Drill disabling protect similarly to Feint (i believe) means your second mon can follow up on the protect slot if you need the extra damage.

Like, I knew about Tailwind Boomburst, but STORED POWER??! 2:10 QOTD: Considering Chatot and Squawkabilly are the best Pokemon designs are all time and they're both single stage, they definitely both deserve evolutions so we can get even more epic designs. Maybe Squawkabilly could get some sort of fusion evolution where they take the ability of 4 different-coloured Squawkabilly (or just one of each of Squawkabilly's abilities since they get 4 different abilities total) and become a big greaser parrot with all Green, Yellow, White, and Aqua represented? Maybe they could have some sort of evolution involving Chatot (such as a fusion, or a trade-between like Karrablast and Shelmet, or maybe just being in the same party, or something) where they get a jukebox or something? And for Chatot the sky's the limit, really. This strategy's cool to see. I personally went for a similar thing, except I didn't know about Stored Power and also wanted them physical so instead I have a Weavile fling a Liechi Berry at Ghost Tera Type Dudunsparce, Ghost because suddenly completely immune to Fighting and also gives Tera Blast good coverage. Also gives free Dragon Dance without Tera, not that this +4/5 speed setup is to be disregarded. Very cool to see a special set though, cuz Boomburst. Also considered Beat Up but I just wanted less hurtage more damage, especially since if I'm worried about speed Dudunsparce is likely to have a turn to set up Tailwind. 8:40 Well, I mean, without Weakness Policy yes. Though to be fair this is usually balanced out by Hyper Drill breaking Protect, which is fun vs. stally Dondozo. But yeah it's the same weakness, definitely don't want Fling to get Follow Me'd, though having Fake Out to stall out the other Pokemon while taking out the Follow Me-er (or Faking Out Follow Me to take out a threatening Pokemon, iirc that works) is nice.

QOTD: I wish they'd give an evolution to Murcrow, given how much it sees play in competitive just imagine how good an evolution would be! /s okay serious now: Zangoose/Seviper, maybe some kind of "fusion" evolution even where you need to have both in your party and they each evolve into a form with some elements of the other Pokemon, for example Seviper gains Zangoose claws as extra teeth or Zangoose gains Sevipers hide as like a cape, to symbolize the Pokemon won the fight against the other.

This is not the first time I've seen Psychic used with this strategy as a tera type, and it actually has me very curious... why? I suppose more Rattled boosts with Stored Power is pretty interesting, but I used it much like how people used Slaking, except with Coil. Coil, Rock Slide, Hyper Drill, Protect - ghost Tera, with Beat Up Maushold as my enabler. Maushold doubles as a good Follow Me support assuming it lives + Friend Guard for anything else on the team.

Waiting to see the "2-mon Monty Pile" meme team. Dudunsparse and Jolteon, Tatsugiri and Dodonzo, and some other 2-pokemon pair. Your opponent will have an aneurism trying to figure out what to lead, since you have multiple "If you don't answer this, I win" gimmicks. EDIT: Tyranitar Lycanroc would be a good third pair as far as gimmicks go

QOTD: Cyclizar. Not only would it then be able to use Eviolite in a supportive role, but the Evolution could be more offensive, basically like a pseudo-legendary version of Koraidon/Miraidon set in present day. It feels strange that it is super strong in the past, even stronger in the future, but a weak Pokemon just now, so it only makes sense that it should evolve. It should also have equally high attack and special attack, exactly base 110 which is less than Koraidon/Miraidon, but more than those have in their weak stat, to be precise, it is the average of the high and weak stat and therefore captures the transition stage between special and physical attacker. Base 110 is not overly strong, but decent, basically Meowscarada/Lucario. Speed should be base 130, like Jolteon, so it can reach 200 speed, not quite as fast as the big guys, but fast enough to be worth it compared to basic Cyclizar, so you have a worthwhile tradeoff between speed/attack and bulk with Eviolite. The remaining 50 points go into bulk +25 for each, giving it a decent base 90, meaning it ends up at 110 like Hydreigon vs 127,5 with Eviolite on Cyclizar (average between the high and low stat of Miraidon/Koraidon, though that is a weird coincidence). Not sure about the ability, I would like to see something more offensive than Regenerator, but Koraidon and Miraidon are kinda overkill, so recreating something like that is probably a bit too much. Maybe a 1,2x boost to attack and special attack while there is no weather and terrain, that sounds pretty decent actually. This really sounds like a huge missed opportunity.

QOTD: I think clawitzer is definitely a candidate for getting an evolution. The pokemon feels kinda incomplete, like it has a unique ability, and looks quite cool, but it feels like it could get an evo and just pump it up a notch.

Quick question- would this strategy work with a beat up Pokémon instead of pin missile loaded dice? The only downside I see is that it’ll hit 4 times instead of 4-5 times, but your beat up user will have an item, maybe even focus sash if you’re concerned about it’s speed. If anyone sees a reason why this wouldn’t work, I’d love to hear.

I would love an evolution of Mimikyu. Something of it getting fed up of its disguise getting broken and so it picks a new pokemon to IMPersonate upon evolution or we get one where it ditches the disguise and we see or get a glimpse of its cursed form.

I tried this with scarf annihilape’s rage fist, just had to make sure annihilape was slower than jolteon. Pretty fun when I got it to work. Took almost no damage for an instant 300 bp rage fist

Qotd- would love to see tropius get an evo. It has very mid stats and typing, but the design is rad as fuck. Maybe they could make it into a massive sauropod Pokémon, rendering it incapable of flight and changing the secondary type from flying to dragon or ground.

Another thing with pin missile is that you can use it to really amp rage fist on annihilape! Qotd: tropius please! Another one that would be interesting for competitive is sableye, enabling sableye to use eviolite.

I think Pinsir is a prime candidate for getting an evolution. They could also do cool things with Furfrou. Slightly off topic, I think Turtonator and Duralodon should have prevos.

QOTD: I want to see Spinda get an evo whose typing/stats/moveset/ability/etc. depends on the Spinda's dot pattern. Would make Spinda hunting super funny and infuriating while giving Spinda's dots some actual meaning.
