@@ZapSnap you're going to need some luck and a party of two. Chances are you aren't one of the maniacs who run perks to increase your totem cleansing speed, so you'll just need one of the survivors to step on the trap far enough away that there's still room for the other to cleanse the hex (traps tend to teleport directly under the feet of survivors who step in them if they would have been off-center). It's _really_ hard, but I've seen it done before (the other problem is getting them to understand that they need to cleanse and not free you). In most cases, it's a lose-lose scenario. The only other thing you can do is slam gens and hope that you outrun the killer long enough that he doesn't get hooks to fuel Devour Hope.

Like most people who don't care about others I don't understand the people who DC when they fail a chase while on death hook. "Let me not waste the Killer's time or remove a hook from the game! Yeah, that'll be real great for my team!" They only care about saving a little bit of time which is then wasted by having to wait for the timeout to expire. Maybe they just go play another game or something. I just don't understand the mindset for that. Fun little build, I do love the reset add-on a lot, it can lead to some fun moments like we saw here. Sometimes I want to DC as Killer, once I realize the game is 100% un-winnable. But the literal only thing discouraging me from is the penalty. I don't really see why it's as necessary for Killers to have one as it is Survivors. Doesn't make much sense

@@soloh8r I give up as Killer pretty often when it's obvious the only way I can 4k is if I tunnel or camp someone, which are things I refuse to do as Killer because of how much I hate them happening to me as a Survivor. When I give up I'll still patrol gens but not chase anyone I find, hoping they look behind them seeing me attacking the gen. Most of the time people will understand, come back and just finish off gens and then once they are done I'll open the gate. Other times when I give up because someone is toxic or it's unwinnable and people don't look I'll just go stand in a corner near a gate and do something on my phone or another window while I wait. Both sides need the D.C .penalty, if Killer didn't have it you'd get people instantly D.C.ing right at the start of the game after the Survivors have sat in the lobby for however long. What the game really needs is a "Concede" option. As Killer if three gens have been completed and your hook total is less than lets say seven you have the option to "Concede" which gives every Survivor Objective points equal to a full gen repair and half an exit gate opening as well as the normal Survival BP for escaping alive and ends the game with no loss of points for the Killer like when you D.C.. As Survivor if someone dies at five or four gens you can "Offer Concession" which will then ask the other two Survivors if they are willing to concede. If at least one other says "Yes" then it is an instant E.C.G. ending, with The Entity taking all living Survivors and the Killer getting B.P. as normal as well as counting as one hook stage per Survivor for Emblems. Survivor should also have other cases where Concession becomes an option such as a four person slug or being slugged with only one other person alive as the Killer tries for the 4k. Maybe in those cases a "Bleed out faster" option instead of out right "Leave the game with no penalty" one. The D.C. penalty has its place, it is not perfect but as I have seen time and time again when it is disabled for whatever reason that it is needed. It's something like seven or right out ten of my games when it is off the first person downed D.C.s right away or the Killer will D.C. on a bad map or D.C. if the first chase takes too long even if no gens have been finished yet or because they actually don't like the Dwight skin after all. (I wish that last one was a joke. Had a Killer D.C. after a game started and their stated reason was "I don't like the way the elf Dwight looks in the game." then nothing else in chat so I assumed they left and so did I.)

On that map, trap-based killers can really benefit from putting a least one trap in that one narrow hallway with the wooden walls. It's a decent bottleneck, and Putting a trap in just the right spot there could be unavoidable.

Love seeing weird strats and builds from you. I did have one idea I dont know how viable itd be (almost guaranteed not viable) but with floods of rage coming with Sadako, I wondered how hard itd be to get a 4k using only survivor tracking aura perks. Bbq, Floods of rage, nurses, and bitter murmur. Or any other aura reading perk, plus a killer addon that shows auras. No gen aura perks though aside from discordance or something that only gives you the aura of the gen when theres a survivor on it. Again, not viable I'm sure, but maybe an interesting challenge

So the news of the upcoming Legion changes actually convinced me to try playing DbD for the first time in a very long time. I figured I could probably rack up some bloodpoints since I was already on the verge of prestige 1 for Legion anyway, and I had some fifth anniversary cakes left. And then I got sent to nothing but Coldwind Farm and the swamp map with toxic survivors all running meta perks, as well as a few very sus players who may have been subtle cheaters, always using dead hard exactly when I swung no matter how much I baited it. That made me remember why I haven’t played this game in forever. At least I can vicariously enjoy it through Otz.

Is corrupt good on trap based killers? I always thought it would be better to not have it that way while survivors do distant gens you could set up traps/phantasm traps

It's pretty good on them, because it helps not lose a Generator or two just to set-up your territory. The only real problem is similar to what you mentioned, where they basically come running at you if you're setting near the middle of the map.

You might be disillusioned that survivors being pushed towards your side of the map defeats the purpose of being a trap-based killer, but the time you buy by using Corrupt will lead to more effective use of your power since you would lessen the area survivors would be in, unless they hide on blocked gens which is still good for you.

Hey, what do you guys think of this concept for Pennywise (The Fear). His powers: Hallucination: You can create up to 4 Balloons. Every Ballon has an spheres of action of 32m. The Balloons causes Hallucinations. When the survivors suffer from Hallucinations, Pennywise appear as another killer, or a survivor. Within the effective range, survivors will hear the screams of the flying children. Furthermore, the survivors are haunted from jumpscares. Survivors can burst the balloons. By doing it, the killer can see your position. Pennywise can burst a ballon from every from the map. When a survivor is close to a bursting balloon, he become deaf for 5 seconds. His field of view is traversed by a reddish gleam. Locker Journey: Every 120 seconds, you can travel from locker to every other locker of the map. You can't travel to a locker where a survivor is inside. Feeding Frenzy: you can charge an attack where you start an attack with 150% movement speed for 3 seconds. Fear therapy: whenever a survivor takes a safety hit, he will suffer from the "brave" status. When you put this survivor in Dying State, you do not have to hook this survivor. You show him your dead lights and the survivor will start levitating. He is in a fear coma. True Form: when the survivors repaires the last gen, pennywise get desperated and is shapeshifting into a spider. Survivors have to collect their artefacts and burn them to stop pennywise. When the artefacts are burned, pennywise will became vulnerable. The stage of vulnerability belongs to the amount of the survivors inside the killers terror radius. 1 suv = normal killer strength 2 suv = 20% lower movement speed 3 suv = 30% lower movement speed, 50% lower terror radius, survivors can punch you 4 suv = you shrink half of your size, no terror radius, survivlrs can kill you. the trial counts as "survived". once in a trial, pennywise can take a survivor as scourge. The survivor can't flee with pennywise at the back. Other survivors can free him, But: when the other survivors escape, pennywise can kill the scourge. In the spider form, pennywise has a 120% movement speed and sees the aura of all survivors.
