Even as someone that is bad at Dva, the thing that stood out to me (other than the complete devotion to standing still on the low ground andabsorbing damage) is how little they're taking advantage of good opportunities to punish the enemy. To OP, here's a few timestamps to help show you what I mean: 2:15 you did well. One of the rare times you took high ground. They force Widow around the corner, and then when the Widow doesn't grapple away, punish them by getting in close and confirm the kill. Staying there after was poor and got you demeched, but this was good. 4:33 you remech, and immediately get a 2k. Venture has just popped out of Burrow in front of them, and Hazard is very low using Spike Guard. It wasn't through good play you got these kills really, they were kind of handed to you, but it's a good example of the value of getting in close with enemies on Dva. Venture especially got burst down from over half health to 0 in an instant, because you were in the right effective range to do so. 4:52 not continuing to chase the Ana is understandable. You don't have Boosters up because you just used them, and now you have a Genji in your face. However, not then chasing the Genji at 5:08 is less so. They've used Deflect, they've Dashed away, they have nothing left, and they're low. You however have all both Boost and Missiles back up. That should have been an easy kill. Don't worry about the Ana that didn't take the opportunity to retreat, your team should be able to kill a wildly out of position lone Ana by themselves. Take the kill you've set up for yourself, stagger the Genji. Instead what happens is Genji heals back up, peels for their Ana, and instead it's your Ana that goes down. As Emongg said at 7:13, Genji is an easy kill there. You're at nearly full health, you have DM, and they're retreating at low health. You know they don't have Moira or the other DPS, as they're still respawning. Even if you trade killing the Genji for getting Hooked, it would take a lot to demech you. Something like a Hook + Sleep + Anti combo. And if that happens that's 3 important cooldowns used by the enemy, two on a long cooldown. 8:05 good play. Hog is down, the DPS are nowhere to be seen, diving the supports is the right move. And you were rewarded for it by finding a Genji to kill too. 8:41 another good play, again straight after Hog went down. You saw the Junk by himself, you dove him, you killed him. More of this 9:53 whilst you didn't end up killing the Venture, that's 3 plays I'm happy with in a row. Though again bear in mind I'm not good on her either, so someone who knows how to play her may correct me. The Venture got in too close, and you attempted to punish them. Now their team was close enough to try and help, and you took a hefty amount of damage from the Junk which prevented you from feeling safe following them towards the Hog. 10:07 the VOD got paused to discuss your lack of high ground usage, but I'd also like to point out that by this point Mercy has healed you back up to full. The enemy Hog has just been pulled to the rest of their team by the LW. But you know who that leaves by themselves, still low? The Venture. This is a good opportunity to re-dive them, finish the kill you started a few seconds ago, and rebalance the teamfight in your favour. 13:45 you just watched Moira use Fade, you know where she went, and you know she's by herself with no hopes of reinforcements. Go chase her. That should be an easy kill. 15:18 Emongg already said it, but yes, right idea. The Zarya isn't looking at you, they've just used one of their Bubbles, now is the time to push. It didn't end up working out, but you've turned the enemy tankcinto a squishy now. With better focus fire from your team that could have been a big hold. 16:52 that's twice in a row you've targeted Zarya at the right time. On this occasion they've already been forced to use both Bubbles, so even though they're looking at you, it's safe to push. Nice kill. 17:45 here's one that's a lot easier to notice in replay than in game. Your Bastion is ulting, you know the Zarya is in the line of fire, and if you've noticed the piss juice you know the Moira is too. This could be a good opportunity to take them by surprise whilst they're focusing on avoiding the mortar shells. Won't necessarily get them killed, but can certainly force out cooldowns and put them on the back foot. 18:26 it's already been mentioned, go help with the Venture in the backline. They're alone, the enemy has no way to get to them, and you already have teammates on Payload Perry duty. Don't worry about the cart, go get a key stagger kill so that the enemy can't get a 5v5 final fight. Instead, they're able to ult and get the point. 20:10 Killing the Zarya should have been free then. Both Bubbles were used, you started attacking her, got her low, and then stopped. Why did you stop? Fortunately Bap finished her for you, but that could have gone south quite easily, and still almost did because you wouldn't commit in the final fight. There's probably more opportunities I missed. I get the fear about getting too aggressive and getting demeched every 5 seconds. And that's something that better positioning will help with. But putting yourself in close quarters with an enemy is part and parcel of playing Dva. Do you notice how much more effective you were in this game whenever you got close to the enemy? Believe in yourself, and your supports, because getting aggressive will only help you climb

Especially for controller, they need to increase their sens at least a bit. Watching them 180 without aim assist helping was painful, and I'm pretty sure they missed some elims simply because they couldn't turn fast enough to follow. Might also be why they're hesitant to turn for better targets.

I'm nowhere near Emongg's skill level but counter-swap has nothing to do with what happened in this match. This DVA was just a 700 HP turret shooting peas. Before you get concerned about "counter-swap" you must improve your gameplay. 1-. Be more aware of your cooldowns, you DM for anything (sometimes for nothing), and you use missiles as soon as you get them. One thing that helps DVA's damage input (IMO) is that you can dive into someone (say squishy support), hit it with your boosters and missiles, tank some damage, and get out 2-. Use your boosters more often. Since you are quite concerned about how to beat Zarya, using your boosters to put you outside her reach is one way to keep her at bay. Zarya is very slow and has almost no mobility 3-. Don't be afraid to play separately from your team. DVA doesn't need pocket healers since she can go for packs if required and that's how you create space and generate separation in the opposing team. DVA is a big target and having her sitting on point/cart is making things easier for the other team

Dva has shotguns and her reload bugs out most of the time (basically infinite ammo). Shred squishies, fill their entire screen with Dva. The rockets are key burst damage, its more damage and damage you can deal while DM'ing. Shotguns. Catch burst damage - use DM like Zarya bubble, watch for the damage bursts and try to catch as much as you can in like a 1 sec window. You always want to save a little resource extra for that thing you forgot about.

An absurd amount of players play the game wrong and think that Hazard is not a dive tank when Blizzard tells us otherwise. Ramattra is the first tempo tank. Hog needs his OG kit back, suzu was fine y'all just don't like strong abilities. Supports are being catered to while mean while... the dps are struggling to find true identity, the tanks are not in the mud... at this point they are the mud. Bro, 0.3 Boosters per minute is wild. It's a 4 second cooldown, you should be spamming them lol. Also, why are you playing comp with a bandaged up hand? Go Quick Play until your hand heals. You're threatening other people's progress by choosing to play comp when you know you're not going to be able to play at your fullest extent. Finally, the Mercy shouldn't have had to fly to the cart to stop the enemy team from capping on second point, you should have been leading that charge as the tank. D.Va is not a sniper, use your Boosters to get in their face, use your cannons and Micro Missiles to blow them up, use your Defense Matrix to quell burst damage, and use your Boosters again to get out/chase someone down.
