This eBay Update Might Improve Your Listings

eBay does allot of tinkering and changing the app. This time eBay has improved the background removal tool from where it was (a simple yet spotty white background tool) to what it is now, a very basic AI tool that gives you so many more options than before.
While it isn’t perfect at all, it is a big step up from what it was before and could benefit sellers who really don’t have a dedicated photo area to work with. The implementation of this AI tool tells you quite a bit about how eBay feels about non-white backgrounds. While Google still prefers them, it is obvious eBay wants you to create photos that will grab your buyers attention.
Is this tool for everyone? No. I’m still using PhotoRoom as it has more options that I enjoy using however if you don’t want to pay $60 and instead want a free tool to help your listings stand out, then this might be the tool for you.

Hi Jon! I use photoroom but don't pay, so it leaves the photoroom stamp. I save the photo on my phone. Then I use the eBay tool and it removes the photoroom stamp most of the time! Workarounds.

I like the clean look in the paid version of Photoroom. I haven't really liked the ebay background removal tools, as of yet.

One nice thing about this is that since I sell items in one particular niche my store would look very very cohesive. Even if the pictures were taken at different times of day. I like it!!

If a photo is not good to begin with, it won't be any better with a fake background. "Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear."

I use remove bg. it's free and better than ebays background removal.

I think the jury is still out on whether or not this helps a listing. Personally, as a buyer, I start getting a bit wary when a seller is faking backgrounds. Makes me suspicious about what else they might be hiding. Maybe that's just me.

Forget the photo editing how about they fix the way they treat their sellers. We make them all the money.

I tried to use the white background tool in the UK today, and it was hopeless. Looks like we don't have the AI improvements yet over here.

I pay for photo room I stopped using the all white boring background that looks like every other photo on ebay, I use some pretty cool backgrounds and not sure but suddenly ive been getting daily sales since i changed from plain white
