@@BN99239 the original Juliet is a $1400 bike with a 1000W motor and a big freaking battery. It can do about 50 miles with the throttle wide open going 25-30mph depending on the remaining voltage. But getting 88 miles at 20mph is a pretty valid use case for that bike, and not one that is an overspend. (Also it’s easy to tune the pedal assist. On my bike PAS 2 is set to 15mph (trail speed limit) PAS 3 is set to 20mph (son’s class 2 bike), and I have PAS 4 set to 25mph and PAS 5 wide open. Switching is trivial.)

For an ebike that has a 30mph speed and higher and costs in the 2k and higher bracket should come standard with moto tires.. My enduro was a 1500w, it only did 35mph tops on a good day with no wind and flat terrain and it came with enduro moto tires, the bike was 2400$ it was the best ebike I ever had, the battery blew, I got about 22miles on full batter but I didn't care, it was reliable and I lived the full suspension.....

I have an old Juliet first gen. It goes 30mph, and has insane range. I came to the conclusion that the line between it and a motorcycle is blurry, and that I should treat it more like a motorcycle. Based on riding that around I am actually getting an M1 license and looking at getting a road legal scooter instead of something like this. This thing… is a motorcycle. Like, bike safety gear is not enough. Like not having DOT safety features is a problem. Like not having the training that often goes with getting an M class license is a problem. If you drop this thing at 40mph in bike gear, you are gonna have a bad day. If someone kicks up a rock and it hits you in the face at 40mph, you are gonna have a bad day, and that’s if this doesn’t cause you to also drop the bike. I am not telling anyone they shouldn’t ride one of these. But at least know that this thing is basically a 125cc equivalent motorcycle and take safety gear and training seriously. Breaking for a curve at 30+ mph on a 150 pound bike is a VERY different thing than stopping a 35 pound pedal bike going 10mph. You need to know that and learn to handle it before getting on this thing in real traffic and corners. Be safe.
@wcz612 ай бұрын
Would take this over a motorcycle anyday. In Florida you have tons of very wide walkways and you can ride it there off the road. Of course ride with caution but no different than a bicycle at slow speed if someone is on the walkway.
@jmcminn10762 ай бұрын
@@wcz61 I honestly wouldn’t. Which is not to say I disagree with your base premise. But…This thing is a $3000 ebike. You can still get the original Juliet for $1400. It isn’t dual motor 40mph, but it does 30mph and gets 50ish miles riding it wide open throttle, and plus it still looks more like a pedal bike if you intend to take it off the street. While over 750W, and over 28mph and having a throttle over 20mph makes the Juliet not a “legal” bike either, a cop is much less likely to stop you if he clocks you at 30 than if he clocks you at 40+. This bike is NOT street, sidewalk, or trail legal in most jurisdictions. And it’s not really close enough to “slide” if you get observed letting loose on it. (Search for Surron and talaria videos to see what can happen with illegal bikes). At the point I’m looking at $3000+ and 40mph+ I would want full on motor bike with DOT compliant features. If I was choosing a “bike” I’d go with one of Eahora’s cheaper models that was close enough to legal to still allow for plausible denial. (I’d honestly buy the original Juliet again). In either case, my original post’s point was to understand that this ebike basically is a motorcycle, but one that does not meet DOT standards. If you choose it, have fun riding, but be safe and respect it as the motorcycle it is.

I have the utmost respect for the knowledge and expertise you put into your videos...which makes me wonder why you'd take the time to showcase something that is illegal in most states and riding conditions. Certainly there are enough legal bikes out there to keep giving you content for your excellent channel. Thanx for listening and keep up the good work!!

The only thing worse than the boot, is the guy asking for the boot. The stupid laws are already here. That's why this is "illegal" (You can, of course, keep it in a fully legal mode on-road). You talk about "testosterone feuled man-boys"... Brother, I just want to be able to safely commute around a city were most streets are 35mph and it's not unusual for cars to go another 10 over that. And being able to keep up with traffic is the best way to stay safe. Put the blame where it belongs, irresponsible people, not the equipment. Which certainly has responsible use cases for responsible people despite being "illegal".

@@JCPRuckus - I DID put the blame where it belongs...right on the man-boys who are abusing these high-powered bikes and causing problems for the rest of us. You even pulled that term out in your reply so, not sure what your beef is. By no means do I want to curtail or restrict your ability to ride in traffic but...if I'm not mistaken, 750 watts is the legal street limit for eBikes, right? And, what cars do...other than making sure they don't hit us...is not really our concern. They have their own sets of laws...we have ours. I like the idea of going with a speed limit...just like with cars...and NOT worry about the size of the power plant.
@JCPRuckus2 ай бұрын
@@riclevine5983 - No, you mentioned them, but only in the context of a rant about how disappointed you were that these exist, and this channel is talking about them. In other words, you were making manufacturers and reviewers responsible for giving irresponsible people the opportunity to be irresponsible. You are responsible for everything you say, both what you say explicitly AND the implications of what you say explicitly. Also you're completely missing the point by quoting the legal power limits. The point is that I, and many other people, want to be able to ride these things on streets that have traffic we can't avoid. Physically separated bike lanes are extremely rare in most areas. So in order to be safe, the closer to traffic speed we're capable of going, the safer we are. It's just not as simple as you want it to be, other than that the problem is definitely entirely on irresponsible people, not anyone else.

I just wish there was a legal route for these kinds of bikes. They dont have to be classified as e bikes. Im fine with getting a motorcycle license and or registering them. Etc etc. But in my state, if its got more than 750 watts in the motor, its illegal period unless its strong enough to he considered an electric motor cycle. Open up the middle ground 🙃

You can't call that a bike. It's way too heavy for that. Completely failed concept if you ask me.

@rockstarbass1 a KZbinr tested both of them and the a8 dual motor outperformed it. And yes I own 3 anioki a8 pros with the new a9 titan on pre-order. I love these bikes

My bike is 2000wat 45amp 52v goes faster than that bike 30mph 3to 4 seconds 44mph and gets there quicker than that bike and mine is a kit on a nice mountain bike indercators brake big head light sw900 display 5 power pass or throttle under a £1000 what do you think of that when you think of weight that slows a bike down it's called load so if you weight is 10 stone you will go faster than 13stone plus if tyres are 4 ins it slows bike down by a lot slick tyres in summer adds 8 mph to 10 aluminium frame makes bike go faster it's all to do with weight even a 1500wat 40amp 44mph easy 52v volt battery no need for 72 volt 3000wat these bikes are like tanks
