Right now im currently on a new character and im actually going to give pvp a try for the first time in a souls game. Learning about the pvp lexicon is gonna be quite helpful. But grinding all the weapons and equipment is kinda a hurdle Im not enjoying. I just wish getting to pvp wasn't such a grind in the beginning. Pvp looks too fun not to try out though. Wish me luck!

Recommending peeve for pvp build is actually good because he encourages others to play with themed build diversity sorry to say unlike both of you jeenine & steelovsky you guys are playing as hardcore pvp player who play the game with almost no taste of souls fashion and aim for the best build for only pvp so the game will be full of the same fashion pure meta build. In dev's vision souls game is never meant to be tournament type pvp games.

I don't really ever make fun of these guides because its not like there are any alternatives to learning. Trying to find a build/guide on Elden Ring pvp is not an easy task, in fact it seems like most of the actual good creators (good meaning competitively good) dont have any guides and also seem to not show their build in videos. Even finding out what weapons are good is annoying, all the weapon guides/tier lists are all either outdated or strictly for PvE.

The solution is to not bother with trying to find the best build... Just look at weapons and ashes you think look fun, see what stats they scale with on the wiki and make the build. Or if you really want builds that are at least decent, Steel and Jee almost always show stats in their videos and the weapons and ashes they use can be easily seen by just... watching the video...

I believe what he’s saying is that the game needs more full blown hand holding guides being created by good players, for newer players. Your average call of duty Andy who just beat elden ring for the first time and wants to try out pvp, is not going to know what is going on by watching a steel or G9 pvp video. Trying to pause the video at the exact second that their stats are shown while they’re hard swapping isn’t gonna be enough to help someone understand pvp.

@@CurseSeer4561 Not sure about Steel, but I know for a fact that Jee often times blends in his stats for a good 15 seconds in the middle of his videos. And as I said, I really don't think you need to look up what weapons to use to start playing or even enjoying PvP (might change when more and more casual PvPers leave the game), but even if you do want that it's easy enough to just look at random videos, see a weapon that looks good/fun and just use that. It's not like hardswapping is a requirement for PvP (which also already has multiple tutorials by Jee and other KZbinrs)

As in, taking the highlights of that lexicon for example, and dumbing it down for people who are freshly done with the story and want to get into pvp. A guide that doesn’t force new pvpers to go looking in 4 different directions for answers, and instead consolidates information like stat allocation breakdowns, top 3-5 weapons to use with said stat allocations, poise breakpoints, viable spells/incantations, physik flask tear explanations, spacing, tech, parryable and unparryable attacks, ripostes, status, multiplayer, and other little nuances of the game that aren’t made apparent, etc. A video like this helps, where pvp veterans are adding onto something that someone else created, this is a good start. But wouldn’t it be cool if someone with this kind of extensive veteran knowledge made a video with the same format as cowboy’s, but better?

One the problems PVP really has is that you cannot make an invasion/ viable arena build by going through the game once or twice (NG/ NG+) Some AoW are limeted and connot be multiplied, unless you have a buddy to help you As well as +25 stones are limited (I thought DS3 experience would teach them) As well as “tears” for resetting your stats are limited (so you cannot try your build, fail, try again and so on) Of course, all of these limitations can be solved, but I’m talking about a normal “honest” playthrough of guy who just wants to try, to have some space to try PVP (Arena, Invasions, etc)

IDK I loved the dark souls pvp/invasions but I don't know what it is about Elden Ring's pvp/invasions but I hate it. It feels like it should be the same but something is off.
