I love how Stefan kept trying to make him turn it into a towplane 😂

I have been talking with my dad for YEARS about how this concept needs tto be made... Not the STOL part (even though I like it), but a hybrid airplane like this. I'm psyched to see someone doing it!

Very good video thank you very much Stefan . This really seems to be the future, rather than EVTOL. 24 kts and no stall 👻

Hi Stefan, this is the first electric plane that makes sense to me. Batteries for take off, and then starting the turbine to power the motors and recharge the batteries. So he can go there where not enough electric power is available for recharging..... Thumbs up and fingers crossed.

I knew there’d be a video about this if you were hanging with JP for much time! Been following JPs updates on FB for a while! Met him back in 2012 at the 13.5m worlds in Texas!

Battery electric does have considerable potential for modest range. Speaking of electric and jets, the turbojet is quite inefficient but simple and turbofan is balancing fan size and rpm but just maybe electric transmission could be superior to a second spool in a jet. So the jet is purely a generator and the high rpm means high power density in electric generators. Once in electric form the power can be applied at what RPM is desired. The turbine generator can also be placed out of harm's way so it doesn't ingest things. Electric transmission instead of gearbox might just work. PS. basing anything on a cessna is wrong :)

Competition for the Pilatus turbo porter perhaps. Can fly from those small air strips in Papua New Guinea only requiring aviation fuel to run the electric motors

Just wondering, would projects like e-STOL Aircraft and Night vision flight be allowed in Europe too? Are these experimental only?
@Vladimirthetiny3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately there is no "Experimental" category in Europe. EASA is a supra national body and as with any committee consensus, the more parties that are involved the more likely it is that any eventual final decision is going to be compromised. Look at how long it took to take a decision involving commercial single engine turbine operations...

Nothing is going to revolutionize air travel. At best, we will see incremental improvements and changes. What was revolutionary is when we went from no air travel to having air travel.

There's always one. This definitely has use case for isolated communities, think bush pilots, and electric has low maintenance requirements Vs a turboprop..

@@bertkreft9689 I'm saying there's definitely a future for electric small to medium size aircraft. Aviation is bizarrely anachronistic sometimes.

The problem has nothing to do with how good the plane is. Rural areas have room for airports. Urban areas will not accept them. There are presently movements to stop bike lanes. You really think you can put a STOL airport in an urban area? Good effing luck, buddy. The American frontier and Constitution were amazingly synergistic phenomena. We’ve run out of one and abandoned the other.
@freddybell83282 ай бұрын
There's a stronger movement to add bike lanes. More bike lanes are added than taken away each year. @@nunyabidness3075
