There were actually 3 famous people in this show, and I'm surprised this dude didn't pick up on that. But, having said that: what's crazy about meeting a celebrity, is that you don't expect to meeting them "going to the grocery store", so you don't always recognize them. I met Rick Fox at a convention a few years ago when I worked at Curse. I was meeting up with a guy I was networking with, and he pulled me into the Twitch booth to say hi. He just happened to be standing next to Rick Fox. And Rick says "hi, I'm Rick!" And I was like "yea, we've met. I met you at Pax" And he's like "oooh yea, ok, nice to see you again!" And about an hour later, I was like "holy crap, that was Rick Fox" When I saw him, in my head I was like "he looks familiar, I think he popped into the Exhibitors Lounge last time...." Nope... he looked "familiar"... because I've seen his face on TV 1000 times! I've met a few celebs before, and recognized them instantly. Said hi and what not. But for some reason with him, I was just like "yea we met dude... how do you not remember me?" LOL

And they taped it all. When he finally got enough sweepstakes to end the show, they decided to start all over again. Then when he did it again, they presented him to a live studio audience, naked. All the while Nasubi had no idea what was actually going on. Obviously Ronald isn't being taped naked, but for whatever reason this reminded me of that event.
@TheLikenessOfNormal Жыл бұрын

there’s another thing similar to the truman show in real life-it was a social experiment about crowd mentality and anonymity. The audience got to vote on whether something good or bad happened to the guy on the show.

you think there's no way this guy could be that gullible but i actually had one friend in highschool who was literally this gullible. like, we could get him to fall for the same prank multiple times. we would play Uno at lunch and every time he went to the bathroom we would rig the game so we could stack all the plus 2's on him. it took at least a couple weeks before he caught on.

So it’s basically a crazy tv show, where a background character has no idea he’s in a show? Sounds amazing

I loved the Joe Schmoe Show, so maybe I should watch this. I highly recommend Joe Schmoe, btw. It's like 20 years old now. It's a "competition" reality TV show where only one of the contestants is real, and everyone else is an actor messing with him. The main guy in that show is super likeable and nice to everyone, and so the actors feel bad after a while for messing with him so much, so they actually tone it down a bit in the later episodes.

That show is kind of hard to watch though, since originally, the premise was, as you say, to "mess with" the guy. This one feel's like his has a better premise.
