Yeah, snow reflects light from the sun giving you more UV exposure than what you'd have standing in the same spot without snow, so you can totally get a face tan by skiing a lot, especially if you're the pale indoorsy type, of course just tanning is more effective, but a lot of avid skiers look pretty tan

She definitely took it too far for still being a parent, literally starving them bc they joked abt Richards flaws that were all literally real shit. Like they were letting off steam abt Richard being a bad parent sometimes and in turn that made Nicole act like a bad parent too

She literally abused them. That episode made everyone unlikeable pieces of garbage and made all of them out of character- Gumball is a jerk, but he's NOT that bad- except Darwin and Richard, and unlike in other episodes where they're out of character, that episode was not funny in the slightest. It was pure garbage. Well at least in my opinion, if you enjoy it,good for you.

Im with gumball this episode. Up till that point Richard has been known as incredibly lazy (winning the lazy off and tricking the kids into having to do his chores), incredibly irresponsible (leaving them alone at night to get a gift HE forgot to get) and also really petty (all the revenge he tried to get for pranks even if he started it) and gumball is supposed to feel bad over some memories he's barley able to remember since it was toddler stage? He's a cool dad but a good one? Even if gumball took it too far its warranted. I love Richard tho lol

As good as the hero is, I kind of hate how gumball started off the episode completely in the right and then it seems like they just made him a jerk so that they could fit the message they were trying to send. Gumball at the start wasn't being mean. Then after finding out Nicole knew, he became a huge jerk for no reason

I mean, all the characters except Darwin and Richard were out of character in that episode lol. If you like it, ok, that's your opinion,but honestly I think it's the worst episode of the show. Not only is Gumball TOO much of a jerk, neither Anais nor Nicole are better. And unlike other episodes where they're out of character,this wasn't funny. Anais yeeting rocks at her brother's faces is not funny. Nicole being a horrible mother is not funny. Especially since it wasn't in a exaggerated, cartoonish way, it wasn't funny, it was VERY annoying and infuriating. Characters getting hurt or abused is only funny if it's overexaggerated and cartoonish, this is not. It's just child abuse. like, really,outside of the Richard dancing thing, I don't think I laughed AT ALL during the episode. So not only are the characters out of character, but they're also unfunny. And the moral sucks - don't get me wrong, saying you should appreciate your parents is a good message, but it's stupid because we already Gumball and Darwin love their father. Yeah they don't take him seriously and can make fun of him but they love him. So yeah in my opinion it's a terrible episode with the only good parts being Richard's dance and song in my opinion,but I can understand if other people like it.

First, Gumball is right about Richard, granted, he was being a jerk about it but what he said is true. From the first season up until this ep, Richard's character has been established to be petty, lazy, childish, idiotic, gullible and downright embarrassing, like that time in "The Prank" episode, he got fooled into stripping himself and dancing on the rooftop, then he tried to get off by going through the chimney. In episode "The Lazy", he was lazy and irresponsible by tricking his kids into his doing his chores for him. Id care if it's for comedic purpose or not but it's how the viewers perceive Richard now. Second, Nicole took this way too far. Just because Gumball and Darwin talked bad about Richard rightfully so, that doesnt mean they were being ungrateful and that also does not mean she cancelled all the basic that a 12-13 year old child need. That's child abuse. All in all, this ep was just horrible, definitely not one of the worst ep of the whole show.

The real moral of this episode is if wanted to be respected like an adult you have to act like one. Richard cause this whole thing buy acting like a child instead of owning up to his mistakes.Instead of owning up to his mistakes like a normal adult would, Richard decides to lock himself in a shed when Gumball and Darwin made fun of him for being an incompetent Manchild and tells his wife and daughter about it like child who tells mom on his siblings being mean to him and then locks himself in his room. He also sings a very emotionally manipulative song over something that is his own fault. Nicole and Anias neglecting Gumball and Darwin for several days would teach them a lesson about respect, instead of simply talking about it in a responsible manner. Gumball gets angry and doubles down on his statement about his dad after Nicole and Anais overreact and being passive aggressive and throws cement cupcakes at them.Also Gumball may have been harsh, he does have a point when he criticizes his father's lack of parenting skills, since most episodes before this one have depicted Richard as a lazy and/or incompetent parent.

This is what happens when you degrade the integrity of the characters and betray their very defining foundation during said emotional contrivance. (...) For that reason, it angers me that the Wattersons, who love and look out for each other, dysfunctions disagreements, and all, fall apart the worst way they did in this episode. The scene of Nicole and Anais lambasting Gumball and Darwin for a transgression that they themselves are guilty of and Nicole's disproportionate punishment of her sons will forever be associated with this episode in the worst possible way! It's so contradictory up to her general portrayal up to that point that you can't overlook it - no matter how hard the episode itself wants to. More in that, on a similar note, I wouldn't be making such a big deal out of Nicole and Anais' role in the episode if it weren't this impactful. I wouldn't be making such a big deal of parental neglect, and child abuse weren't portrayed realistically. (...) I especially wouldn't be making such a big deal if the episode treated these common place issue with a diligence they deserved, but that's just it - it didn't! Instead, it had to make way for a *sappy* emotional crutch that - on its own - is actually put together well, and *would've* worked better if the pacing was better. Or, you know, if the entire *episode* was *better!* It's such a shame because Richard's song is legitimately nice. With the soft melody from the piano, Dan Russell's gentle vocals, and the framing of the scene all encapsulating Richard's inadequacies as a father. But does The Hero really deserve it? Oh fuck no! Not with the episode's sudden escalation and the song's actual placement being immediately after the unquestionably worst moment of the whole series - among the other flaws of the episode. No fucking way! What's even sadder about this episode is that no one here except for Richard is likable. Well, that's not entirely true but it's hard to root for any of the characters, say for Richard and Darwin. I explained earlier how horrible Nicole was, and I should also mention that Anais' role, while comparably smaller than Nicole's, still contributes to the toxic tone. Darwin skirts the fine line between liked and hated due to being the usual second fiddle to his brother, yet redeeming himself half-way by taking agency and attempting to make reparations. But Gumball...oh my God, GUMBALL! What the fuck is wrong with you kid?! What in the world happened to you that made you such a prideful obnoxious and dislikable runt?! I wanted to be on your side because you didn't deserve your mother's BS, but no, I'm not standing by your BS either. I'm not standing BS from ANY one of you! Even though Gumball raised some very valid points about Richard, I really can't abide his behavior in the latter half, which just ruins any chance for sympathy he had. ...Because it's not enough to be saved from instant death, right? You gotta be saved the *right* way, too. (...) And no, episode, you don't deserve that ending either. Fuck you! It has to take surgical attention to detail to leave 3/5ths of your main cast as bastardizations of who they are and render them detestable. But The Hero accomplished just that. But the scars of episodes such as this will never go away. The unpleasantness they've ungendered will always remain there, as much as the series rectifies itself, and The Hero will always be regarded for what it is: a black mark on an otherwise phenomenal series. With likable characters hard to come by, a total betrayal of what's been set in stone, a contrivance of emotions without justification or any worthwhile payoff, an overarching toxicity and hypocrisy, all in clumsily paced 11-minute ordeal that can leave impressionable young audiences with terrifying prospects; The Hero is without a doubt the *worst* of The Amazing World of Gumball. Absolutely *disgusting!"*

I can't lie, Season 2 is a *mean-spirited* season by far tied to SpongeBob SquarePants Seasons 6-8a. And I ACTUALLY hate what it did to Gumball and Darwin's personalities after Season 1, Darwin became whiny, and irritating Straight Man who throws Gumball right under the bus and calls him out in Season 2 to 6, and Gumball became a really big sarcastic asshole because... of COURSE they need to do just that. And because of that, that's now Gumball and Darwin's character in Seasons 2 to 6, and nothing else. And also, Scoot? The Hero is the infamous and atrocious episode of Season 2, and the WORST episode of The Amazing World of Gumball so far before The Girlfriend. The characters were unlikeable, and it's giving me a splitting headache because Gumball, Darwin (In the mid-half), Anais, and Nicole are unsympathetic to root for.

Darwin was only like that for season 2, season 3 to 6 he was more like his season 1 self without being TOO dumb. Also, ah yes, because Gumball is better as a 1-dimensional boring goody two shoes than a 3 dimensional person with an actual personality, also in season 1 he keeps getting abuses way more often than in the other seasons for no reasons.
