As a guy in his mid-30s, I hate how often I think and get sad by COD now vs. then. Warzone did nothing for me, and the last multiplayer I played, Black Ops 3 beta aside was Black Ops 2. But those COD4 to Black Ops days especially.. too many great memories.

late 20s. Same experience. Once I got into COD at 14 yrs old, I never looked back. I hardly play video games anymore. Started with WaW, stopped after BO2. BO1 was my fave. Whole era was INCREDIBLY fun. The skill level was worse than nowadays so it was easier to steam roll noobs. Genuinely sad to not have the opportunity to play those games in their prime anymore.

In hindsight, seeing the way gaming as a whole has gone down the shitter in a lot of regards since then, maybe it was good timing on my behalf, but it is all just sad The gaming scene as a whole is just a miserable landscape, let alone what COD has become. I'm in my mid 40's and I still play COD every single day. I've been playing FPS games nearly every day for the last 35+ years since Wolfenstein when I was just a small kid then I moved over to Doom and played that every day. Played every Medal of Honor and then moved over to COD when it first released. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be one of those "grampa gamers" eventually because I don't ever plan on stopping lol.

WaW may have a small playerbase but it’s not dead, at least on Xbox. It has a working Playercount which makes it easier to find matches, and it consistently has at least 50-80 people online unless you try really late into the night. During peak times, I’ve seen it go anywhere between 150-500 players.

The real gold age is 4-blops 1 tbh but the bulk of fans still actively playing cod and caring were too young to play 4 and waw often most folks in their early 20s have the take in the thumbnail cod and shooters in general before party chat on Xbox were the pinnacle of online gaming

I still play MW2 (OG) on the regular. You can get roughly 6ish full SnD lobbies on a good night playing with the same rotation of about 50ish people. Once it hits like 2-3am (EST) the lobbies die out and you’re forced to play a different game mode or another game. Still run into a good amount of people with jitter mods and the occasional hackers that come along with older games.

simplicity at its finest. this is what boots on ground is supposed to look like, solid movement, gun skill, game sense. this is Golden Cod. Fortunate we have to protect u at all costs. I love when you do throwback cod content, I was enjoying MW remastered and then reality hit. I put an extreme hold on gaming for family medical reasons that were life threatening. I ended up getting back into gaming around BOIII, I enjoyed the jetpacks but not long enough as I had to put gaming on hold again. I genuinely wanna say thank you once again for the throwback cod content. I consider myself apart of that era even tho it wasn't a full time gig for me. you're the best 🙏🏿

Last Stand was legendary on sprinter classes in Hardcore SnD. You akimbo pistols and if you get dropped close range odds are you bust out the pistols and at least revenge kill them. Everyone normally ran Ninja so it caught people off guard.

Most the players were old dads getting off work and sitting back on their couch and playing 10+ feet away from the tv just wanting to relax and play. These games came out when I did not really know what Responsibility was. I was an 8th grader When MW2 came out and freshman when Black ops came out summer vacation meant you stay home and play all day and Night a friend or two might come over and you'd play with them. After school Hop on make some new friends online Playing zombies or sticking to the same lobby. I will never forget my PS3 friends list was full I would constantly see Friend X is now online Friend B is now offline, Friend 'X Invited you to MW2. It was so wonderful. My friends list on PS3 now reads Last online 8 months ago. Nobody gets on anymore Sometimes I'll see a friend online but he's not doing anything meaning his console is probably just updating he's not actually on. 😢

They are in June or July. But I honestly don't think it's worth adding the original games individually, they are too broken and hacked, unless Microsoft are extremely dedicated they really can't fix them properly, the infrastructure of the games are too old. The best thing to do would be to make a Cod version of the Halo MCC, take Cod4 - Bo2 and put them into 1 package, port them to new servers on a new exe, so then they have a fresh base and no cheaters.
