Btw, with Bohemian elective, you don't have to worry much if the heir is shit as you get to choose whether to elect them or someone different which are usually not-100%-shit at least

Tested elective monarchy and usually it gives a mediocore 3/4/3, never got anything decent. Having this in mind, I prefer to invest my prestige for a chance to get a better next ruler :)

I had a great game playing hussite bohemia when it was just added. I dont remember if i had all those PUs from the missions, but ill never forget the PU i got naturally on a russia that expanded all the way to siberia in the late game

Btw just for future playthroughs, especially when you have ideas like espionage or diplo - during the war build up as much spy network on the country you're fighting and their neighbours as possible. Not only do you get extra siege ability on them, but also the spy network reduces the amount of AE you get on a certain country while peacing out (up to -20% reduction), and the AE on every country is determined based on the highest AE you get with any country, so for example when peacing out Poland, just having a spy network on Poland itself slightly reduces the AE in Hungary, Brandenburg, Lithuania, Moldavia etc. because the highest AE (Poland) is smaller

I think that AI don't know that if you attack a subject of country that has his own overlord three of them are called to war. In my prussia campaign I had a spain which was attacking a colony of my france PU and loosing every time.

I fee that instead of a mission just a standard process for the HRE is for a situation in the HRE to happen where it can allow a converted emperor to keep ruling regardless of their religion change

On that track it would be better to rework the religious war entirely. It would be nice to have such options, but you don't want to undermine one of the biggest conflicts in EU4's history. It's fine as it stands: Hussite is a great path to take, even if it means you can't be emperor. Like many countries it's a choice between two paths. But it might be an option that religious wars can be triggered before the big one, provided, say, half the provinces in the empire are heretical. The victor might choose one of several concessions, including "emperor can be of any faith' - though wrong-faith would still carry a penalty. So if Bohemia does turn hussite while emperor, the catholic majority will likely start a revolt to take back the emperorship.

@@sorsocksfake That really should be how the Wars of Religion should be triggered, by number or development of heretical Princes, that would make much more sense and be much more dynamic than the current system. It would also make a lot of sense if the Hussites did succeed in converting a substantial portion of the HRE that they would have triggered a similar religious war.

Go Hussite, have Catholic rebels siege down Praha, become Catholic. Become emperor. Have burgundy cede its capital to France. A couple wars to reclaim imperial provinces. Revoke by 1530, flip back Hussite.

Why not elect the hussite king (Jiri z Podebrad)? When your ruler died and your bad heir became ruler, you could've just picked a different ruler through the election event. The entire point of elective is that you never have to keep the ruler that ascends to the throne, therefore you never have to disinherit a bad heir.

Yes, but election rulers are never really good from what I experienced, so I prefered to invest some prestige to get someone better than a shitty 3/4/3

@@ZlewikkTV I guess you would have better odds of a good ruler if you just disinherit until you get a good heir, just due to quantity of rerolls. But that also disincentivizes using the mechanics of the government for the other benefits, such as new dynasty, army tradition, etc., because you then have to choose between electing someone for those benefits that isn't the good heir you sunk 50, 100, 150, 200 prestige into getting. Sunken cost fallacy essentially. I guess that's probably not a problem for you though since you are a top-tier player. Also, you can get like 6 options for elections which increases the chances of good options, but they all have some sort of negative stat-weights to even out the benefits of choosing them.

it is possible to be the Hussite Emperor, but it is extremely difficult. religious wars must end with the Peace of Westphalia. which is almost impossible to achieve, the strength of all Czech subjects combined is sufficient for the Protestants to win, but without Czech participation the Catholics will win.

Bohemia is definitely one of my favourite nations. (Proč asi, že?) It's a shame you can't combine both hussite and emperor ways. Hussite and Reformed religions have very limited interactions with HRE.

You actually can play as a hussite emperor on game start if you chose the last date of the date selector and then go to the last playable day, the clicking again the 1444 start date and starting the game. This should give the hre religious peace on game start (so you can also be orthodox or Muslim emperor)

​@@HlodologYou can do it legitimately, but it will take about a century. If you pick the middle option for the return of the Hussites (the Elector follows His, the nation follows Rome) you can be elected Emperor as a Catholic and do the reforms normally. If you pass Erbkaisertum before the Evangelical Union, you get religious peace, and can then convert to Hussite through rebels.

@@azh698 Didn't know that thing about Erbkaisertum, that's nice. Though you probably have to revoke before converting, or otherwise you'll get penalty to IA since everyone will be a heretic. Also, if i'm right, you should either choose to not let Jiří rule or get rid of him through elections, since he can't become the emperor. And also, it will be hard to finish religion-related missions, since you'll already have a vast amount of provinces to convert.

But i don't know would you like to try it! the idea is to create + 100 combat ability horse Start for kiev, when you win independent war, you create vasal Zaporozhie and play for Zaporozhie. Next you accept decisions call of the steppes and pick first idea group "horde". Finale create Ruthenian with new national ideas.

I dont remember how much you could get, but if you go Aq qounlu(sorry for spelling) you are a tribe in the beginning. This makes you elligable for aristo ideas. Then you go horde via gov reform and you take horde ideas. Together with their national ideas you could get 83% cav combat, but it was funnier since the horses cost 5 ducats and you could get 100% ratio. Full cav armies, that are 83% stronger and cost pennies, while being a horde. its quite an experience xD
