I was in this FC when I first started playing the game, a group of us left and created a new FC because we wanted to get more into raiding. It was fairly common for our new FC leaders to get threats and incoherent unhinged messages from Reika. None of us took them seriously, it was mostly just funny to see someone melt down so much over 20ish people leaving.

Hello, I’m a former leader of the “liberated” FC Crimson Blades Long story short, 2.0 was lacking in content and a vast majority of us wanted to take a break before 3.0. Reika happened to be a newer friendly member who wanted to help keep the FC running. A few days after getting officer he stole everything from our vault and took a few people with him to create Azure. I’m IRL friends with my old FC mates and we were all devastated losing everything we worked for. Back in the day it was not easy obtaining gil or rare mats or materia. Basically, Reika built the whole story to make themselves look like a hero. We are so happy that years and years later people keep finding out how super strange and messed up this individual is. Even creating an elaborate play about how terrible our once proud and friendly Crimson Blades. I was blown away how reika created this crazy FC after destroying a once very proud fun FC. I still have our photo of when housing was released at our lavender beds medium house we all pitched in for.

I remember that day. As one of the people he gave all those items to he claimed he had a group of friends that gave him those items as a "start up" for the new fc. He lied through his teeth the whole time. Its such a shame knowing he took those items in bad faith. I feel partly responsible as I was one of the names on the original fc charter. I am so sorry for what happened.

Honestly the largest and worst was eve university and it was nowhere near this (I mean this in terms of having a wiki (which they maintained as a resource for the community) and having a structured ruleset and hierarchy). I helped run a smaller guild inside a larger alliance bloc of guilds and our rules were simple, do not be a dickhead, you have a chance at appeal but if you were kicked for being a dickhead you are prob screwed. Used the dickhead clause like twice, reasonable conflicts were resolved like normal people, unhinged or extreme shit was treated as such. We did kinda lean into common sense for sure in that we did not want our members going outside and attacking/talking shit to alliance members, but if we need to write the rule down for you why do we want you as a member?

You know an FC/guild is prone to tons of drama when they have huge, sprawling rules that sound like they have dealt with incredibly specific scenarios in the past. An incredibly controlling leader is also a huge red flag, and very likely the source of drama as well.

I am so happy Reika is finally getting their crap exposed in more of an open way. Having been one of the five founding remembers way back in the transition from crimson blades to this crap stain of an fc. I remember having a one and one meeting with them back after someone called them weird. They spent 3 hours screaming at me over skype and then told me I was a worthless human becaused my favorite FF game was ff9 lol. All before having a melt down in fc chat and then logging off for a few days. Leaving this FC back at the apex of heavensward was one of the best things I have ever done. They used to have a fc website post telling people to straight up black list people on this small list. I almost take pride being on that list alone for a good 4-5 months. Its so refreshing to see Xeno covering this.

I was in a two year relationship with him from 2020 to 2022, and was in the FC from 2020 to just a month ago mostly as leadership. I am a little sad at how everything turned out, but a fault of mine is being too kind and forgiving sometimes. I was in frequent stress over things like being in statics, raiding, upsetting him not knowing what I did, and my real life decisions. Usually, it wasn't an issue, but it would at some point come up during arguments. Arguments happened frequently, and I was always made to feel like I was in the wrong, even for things I shouldn't need to apologize over. I don't do well in conflict, and he's a master of words, so I laid down and accepted it was always me at fault. There was always paranoia, whether regarding the FC or regarding our relationship. Where I had no idea what I was doing wrong at times. I admit nearing the end I was becoming exhausted over the stress, while dealing with finishing school (so lovingly dubbed as "coveted cheap paper"), and trying to find work just to survive, while being expected to move down there ASAP like we had talked about in the very beginning. It was a lot on my plate at once. I'm not saying it was all bad, either. We had a lot of great times. I know this is going to just further me as the conspiring evil ex I'm sure he always knew I was, but I did truly have care and love for this person. I feel like a portion of the energy put into Azure could be well spent in other more beneficial avenues. It shouldn't have to be a full time job for anyone, not even the leader.

I was in an FC with a leader like this. One day I left FC A to join FC B, because I joined a static raid group that was mostly from B, and they all seemed like good people. I had 3 of my friends from A leave to join B with me since we enjoyed each others company and wanted to be in the same FC. I got insults, threats, and the leader and members of A harassed members of B because their leader had made up in his head that we were stealing members from their FC, and threatened to report anyone from B if they contacted anyone from A. All of this simply because me and a group of friends decided to leave to raid together lol... I got several messages with bad wishes or passive-aggressiveness which I just ignored, because I thought it was stuff immature kids would do. The guy and most members were 30+ years old btw. The same person also got overly angry and passive aggressive towards people when doing duties together in the FC if they failed or didn't understand things. Sigh. Some people live in delusion by escapism or consider a video game the only thing that gives meaning to their life. They consider being an FC leader in a video game as an important real life status. I can't relate, and I'm sad they have to make up stuff in order to feel good about themselves or make excuses when things don't go about like they want.

i was in a guild that wasn't anyways near horrible as this but the leader forced me to not only pay for the mats but then wanted me to then pay to have him craft what i needed then pay again just to have him craft so when i refused i said i'll find someone else im sure an then i joked about stealing his king of afking title an that's when he promptly kicked me out of the fc an practically the entire fc if not most of the members quit after what he did to me.

Just a minor detail that really bothers me is that azure is not even latin as they claim it is. Indeed in portuguese and current latin languages we use "azul" for the color blue, but it has arab origens. "Blue" in latin is "caerulium"...

Everyone knows who the people in it are, most of them I've known them since I started playing and guided me through the game. There's no list of rules, no controlling leaders, just people enjoying the game

I remember I joined a FC a couple years back and they made us sit ingame in a meeting room in the FC house. The leader and his wife had the throne chairs and for more than one hour we sat there while they ran a middle-school tier power-point presentation over discord. It was awkward and they kept going on about events they planned or hosted in the past, all the original ones made no sense and only came across as cringe. I wanted to give them a chance and get to know people, especially "join all these events they had planned". I tried for more than a month to join events (only unsynched Realm Reborn and heavensward EX farms where hosted), but because the FC leaders had prio to join events and I wasn't a baby sprout I had no priority despite signing up. So after 5 attempts I gave up 🤐

Most FC's have similar rules: Be respectful, and don't start drama. That is common sense man. I get that not every one gets along. You can settle disputes privately, or ask for help if needed. There's nothing wrong with that.

There was a german WoW Guild that also acted like a cult. They had specific rules when it came to mods, what settings your (at that time) Teamspeak should have (push-to-talk, not to loud etc). The leader was an absolute psychopath and some of the other co-leader just followed him blindly. Before every Raid (even for some reclears and stuff) they checked every person for the right enchantements, stones (materia) and so on and if someone didn't had anything, the leader would most likely kick the person instantly from the raid and sometimes even from the guild, followed by a karen-like tirade about how this person was stupid, a rule-breaker and everybody should hate this person. And the leader was mean....and I mean REALLY mean. Screaming, insulting...the guy was completely mental....

welcome to the primary reason as to why people have a fc of just themselves and their alts. as for the ranking system Xeno, it's merely the amount of fc credits that the fc has generated that month which doesn't tell you anything since fc credits can easily be accumulated by trading in gear at the gc, doing fates, getting gatherer's boon proc for bonus materials, crafting hq goods, turning in levequests, msq/sidequest completion/daily tribal quest completion, crafting collectables, turning in goods for workshop related crafts. raiding and completion of duties normally does not count towards that ranking in any way/shape nor form.

Ah, EVE Online. Good times. Really was like a second job, but it was fun for a time. Especially given I was in school still and had a fair amount of free time. The drama in EVE though, that was some peak drama. Definitely no other game like it.

Lol. The rules are insane. The rules page on my fc's discord is a gif of ninja doing a Fortnite dance. Albeit the page has been updated with a couple things since because weird people happened. But I think seeing that gif as the 1st thing on the rules page gives you an idea of how seriously we take the game. (Not seriously at all)

Uh oh I was in this FC Ill just say, I was never able to fit in. No matter what they always had an issue with me because the way I presented myself was very verbal on things I wasnt comfortable with or didnt think it was right. I only stayed for the buffs and advantages until I reached 80s but made friends with Fellowships CWLS LS PF discord etc instead thus I didnt deal with their bs. Their "meetings" were f stupid, all of it was weird. This makes me feel better that I wasnt imagining the weird vibe I would get there. Also some of the "leaders" have already moved to _Turks_ so yall be careful

As a former member of Azure Infinitum, I can honestly say that Reika was only ever kind and respectful to me. That being said, after a while the whole FC felt like a weird cult that existed mainly to stroke the egos of those in the inner circle.

9:25 I used to play WoW back in Wrath and we had a guild meeting once a week. It was basically just to announce rank promotions and guild events. After that, it was pretty much just a chance to easily catch up with people.

You should check out Grievous gaming for another peculiar guild community. They have an NDA, a contract, etc because the founders are lawyers. Not crazy weirdos like the fc in the video, but taking themselves way too seriously for a guild.

Lol i remember i was in a fc called sword in malboro where it felt this way it was hella cultish they had like 6 or 7 fcs run by the same person. she even hosted a rp type thing every weekend just for members. she does not handle certain things well like this fc leader. but she would not handle situations and make people just be with the toxic people in the fc. big fcs with a cult like vibe i always avoid.

I was in a cult like FC too for a while. I cant remember their full name but i remember their tag was AEGIS on the Lamia server in Primal. Not nearly as bad as this but anytime you tried to speak you would have 5 or 6 high ranking people that wouod act super polite in fc chat and then harass you in /tell chat at the same time if they didn't like what you said. One time someone was leveling their crafters snd offered to make stuff for people and they got lambasted because apparently that was against the rules. It was just such a weird environment, FCs are basically just a glorified chat group with a house but some people do treat it like a cult or like a job

Every fc should just have one rule. If we dont like you and find you annoying for any reason youll be removed. Thats it. These arent companies. They dont need policies - theyre friend groups. If no one likes someone that joins your friend group, you stop hanging out with them. Fcs should be the same way. There is no anti discrimination laws governing fcs. If they kick you for a bad reason you should just be happy finding a new fc. It's not like your livelihood depends on staying in your fc.
