Betta feeding tip for anyone who is interested. Whenever I get a new betta, I train them to swim into the cup they came in and then just feed them in the cup floating in the tank. It usually only takes them about 2-3 days to learn because bettas are incredibly food motivated. This is also something that is great to get them trained to do early in life, because as they age, their eyesight gets worse, it just makes it easier for them and helps keep your aquarium free of uneaten food.

They are so smart! I teach mine to play hide and seek. I had one that would get mad at me, though if I was too busy to play with it. It would swim up to me.. the turn it’s back to me if I skipped morning games. Next day, all forgiven. lol the other would swim up to the top because he wanted me to put my hand in like a leaf 🍃. Then he would lay in it. Have you seen KZbin channel Thin Frog? He teaches his to jump and touch toys? Something like that. Ok. Crazy fish lady out!

FTR has been my reward for doing water changes on my 5 Betta tanks today! Also, my Bettas never have an issue when it comes to feeding time. I made custom feeding rings out of air line tubing for all of my 7 male Bettas in divided tanks, as well as for my sorority of 12 female Bettas. The only issue I have is that they hang around their feeding rings all day long begging me for food! I would definitely recommend using some form of feeding ring for Bettas though, it is the easiest way to give them the right amount of food without over/under feeding (also I would recommend using feeding spoons too!).

Yeah, I've been wondering how to avoid them looking for me all the time. They are like crazy when I entet the room. :( I feed them enough, regurarly. But they still respond on any movement around tanks. I want fish that lives its day and doesn't interact! :(
@brynnbutler33882 жыл бұрын
what would you recommend for a feeding spoon? i haven’t been able to find anything that’s small enough
@megansbettas2 жыл бұрын
@@brynnbutler3388 Some Betta foods come with a measuring spoon (Ocean Nutrition's Betta food comes with a handy spoon!). You can purchase small measuring spoons online that are designed for baking/laboratory work. I have a few small metal ones that work quite well, they are especially good for feeding small foods such as Bug Bites or small Betta pellets that are too tricky to count out!

I love that table aquarium set up! Maybe a fix would be to enclose the top with glass, but every couple of inches or so have an opening that has a raised glass edge to prevent anything from spilling in? That way there would still be air getting in. Maybe the openings would be where the rocks and tall plants are

I love that table/stream ecosystem build. I agree, it looks to me it's right on that line of being overstocked but it should easily be able to maintain water quality especially if they have a filter somewhere built-in. I hope the table isn't used for the actual tea, that would give me anxiety, I'd just have the tea stuff there for asthetics. I'd love to make this someday.

Speaking of facebook market place... I just bought a 80 gallon tank on there WITH THE STAND for $60.. The water was HORRID, you could see there were fish in there but it was very forgotten about and neglected.. I told her I would take the fish to and her response was "the water isn't even that bad it is just the lighting." She said they were moving and she was getting rid of them and she didn't want them anymore and she had been terrible at taking care of them because she didn't know how and she just couldn't be bothered anymore. I would love to send you these photos if you would let me via Instagram or something just for a reaction because I believe these are really reaction worthy! I felt so bad for these fish, she delivered the four of them in a DIRTY ICE CREAM CONTAINER and the water smelled.. aaaa only two of the 4 survived and it has been a month and these fish are doing much better! I don't really keep goldfish but one of them has several patches of scales missing and tbh I don't know what I can do to help him grow them back or is they even do.. but he is a so energetic and loves to eat. Just happy they are alive and in a better spot than they were.

Holy, the guppy table was just so satisfying. Guppies prefer a large area to roam rather than the deepness as these agile fishes tends to run away when chased by a predator rather than dive and sink below in nature. Could've been 10/5 if the stream was wider.

so, fot the first table, it's a live edge slab (a vertical cross section of a tree trunk) ripped vertically and then the irregular edges turned inward instead of on the outside. this leave a very irregular and natural looking river channel down the middle. ive seen them poured with resin to mimic a river, but never anything like this

IMO assuming there is adequate biological filtration, horizontal swim room can often be more important than total water volume. If you have a bookshelf 5 g that's 2 ft long I think that is more suitable for many nano fish than a tall 10G that basically only gives the fish a 12" plane to swim on. The table seems like its pretty darn long, and I find water depth can be deceiving when viewed from the top, so I would imagine those fish have a good amount of room to swim and explore!
