You absolutely should keep doing this. Your channel, From She to Me, and One AdVANTURE at a Time are my inspiration for traveling in my little Pleasureway Ontour. I spent mid November to mid February this winter traveling around California and Arizona to avoid Portland’s cold wet winter. Wouldn’t have done it without your example!

Hey guys we just bought our first RV van (2016 Travato 59K) two weeks ago in Venice, FL and drove it to to our home in Sammamish, WA. Great trip! Looks like you all live in Winston? I’m originally from there. My wife and I both went to Wake, and our son is a freshman at Wake now, so we are there quite a bit to visit him and family. Love watching your adventures and all the good tips on RV life and all the places you talk about traveling to.

Hi! This park is in our "backyard"! We love it and hike there often on the weekend. So glad you guys had a good time at OS. We are almost empty nester and will be tent camping/glamping at OS and Myakka State Park this month preparing for more serious camping in the near future. We love watching you visit the state parks. Definitely our plan.....bike,hike,kayak.

So cool! Lynn would tent camp at OS but there’s no way she would at Myakka River due to the gators and spiders. 😂

As a solo woman camper now, I have also found state parks To be best for me. Originally I thought I wanted to boondock, but I like the security of having a reservation. So many beautiful state parks and I find them a nice compromise between everyone parks and boondocking. National parks are great too but good luck getting a reservation there!
@VANTREKKINGlifestyle2 жыл бұрын
We are so happy to hear you make the most of solo travel and do that which makes you happy and safe. There are lots of folks who don’t watch us because we’re not out boondocking every trip but that’s OK with us. Hope we meet you one day on the road.

It’s good you create your own video diary on the fly! Maggie the Armadillo hound. State parks are more bang for the Buck in most cases, when they’re available, JMO. I rode my trike in a downpour once. I don’t know if I got more wet from the spray off the front wheels or the rain! I do know having your bum about 7” above the road led to a really squishy feeling! 🤣😂 Old Bay plus strong cocktail sauce? Don’t try to transport that across state lines without a Haz-Mat sign on your van. You need to do a song about “wheelin’ my pottie back home.” My wife and I would drive for miles to get to just the right vantage point to catch a sunset. Thanks for a fun visit to a neat park!

Hey VTL, I just got back to Michigan after running down to the FL Keys in my new Embassy Traveler Sport. Stayed three nights at Disney Wilderness campgrounds to remember some great times there with mom, who passed about five years ago. Stayed at Go Small Live Large Scott Watson's new AIRBNB property in Lake Worth with nine other van campers. That was a partay! Then hit the pan handle and back home. Would have been nice to run into you folks during that trip. I'll bet you were already heading to or in Texas. I hope to sometime run across each other and say hello. Safe travels to you all...

I really appreciate your videos. I lost my husband July 2020 and my days of long trips in my little motor home are in my rearview mirror. I belong to a camping club, and we take monthly jaunts locally from May through September. While I can take care of the necessities that camping requires as my husband was unable to Occasionally I need some help backing up or using the leveling blocks. I feel safe with a group. My point is I enjoy the trips you take me on, they bring me happy memories, although we didn't necessarily go to the same places as you.
@VANTREKKINGlifestyle2 жыл бұрын
I often think about would I still do this without Owen, it would be a lot harder, I do need to learn how to do all the things he does. I applaud you for continuing camping and finding a group you can camp with I think that’s a great idea. Thank you so much for sharing it is very inspiring.

Man, you lite my fire to get back out on the road but so much with my husband’s health issue not letting that happen for now. State parks are my favorite also, whether my home state or out of state, for the money and amenities you usually get lots of bang for your buck. Having a severe wind day here today so I am charging my BigBlue up just in case. RV travel is a lot of work sometimes but the rewards are so worth it. Refreshes your soul, it keeps you young, meet new people and you three bring us stuck at home a lot of pleasure. ❤️🚗🐕🙋🏼♀️🇺🇸 Safe travels

I love state parks, too. And you guys have inspired some of my trips, and certainly my channel, too. Thanks for being real!! I appreciate Ryan & Kim homeschooling and having such an adventure. Do you have any advice for someone traveling with a pup? (I just got a puppy!) I'm excited to have her and she is awesome, but I'm intimidated about rules about dogs and safety for her ...where I won't be able to go, what I should and shouldn't worry about, etc. When I was really trying to decide whether I 'needed' a dog, I said to myself "the Poteats do all kinds of fun on the road with Maggie...I can too!", so I got her. I appreciate you guys and all the work it takes to share your adventures with me. Happy Birthday, Owen! Peace & Prayers.
@VANTREKKINGlifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your new pup! I will say traveling with a pet in harder but so much more fun. We do worry about leaving Maggie for a long period of time, so we don’t go on longer hikes or day excursion, you can get a pet monitor, but you do have to have cell service for it to work and you know that isn’t always possible. You also have to make sure it’s not to hot to leave her, so most of the time we choose to do things where we can take her. All that being said she is a great traveling companion, and brings us more joy that we would have every hoped for. Good Luck and enjoy.

@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle Thanks! I already have some reservations booked for an extended trip I've been planning several months from now, before I knew I'd have a puppy. I need to make sure what the rules are.

We are both originally from NC. Some of Owen’s family are from SC. It is a hard decision to retire… I think we will know when you are ready. You don’t have to be retired to start RVing. I’m not sure that helps.
