There were no substitutes in English football until 1965. Keith Peacock was the first ever 'sub' on 21st August 1965.

Dion Dublin played the second half of a game for Coventry City in the 90s with a broken neck, only found out later he'd broken it in a collision during the first half, amazing player and a really lovely guy PUSB

The film ' The keeper' is on the BBC I player and is a must watch for all city fans.

I'm going to blow your mind. Yellow and red cards were only introduced to the game in 1970.

Bert has pure OG status for the Borken neck game. and very interesting to hear his perspective on where he grew up and the time period

I love Simon Whistler (this presenter)! He has so many channels, he pays writers and editors and just presents, so spends his whole week making content full time. My favourites are the casual criminalist, or megaprojects. Not suitable for reactions but so good for your spare time

He's awful, a true propagandist

I remember hearing his unmistakable early narration on TopTenz. I thought, 'Wow, this guy sounds like he's doing a comedy impression of a direct address', kind of devoid of any understanding the content he's describing - like he was fresh out of voiceover university! He hasn't changed a bit! - ok, maybe slightly less stilted... 🤣 But he's massively successful! So, what do I know?🤣

Newer subscriber, not sure if you have ever watched or reacted to the series Derby Days from the channel Copa90 Stories, they are high quality documentaries that explore the fan side of things of football around the world. Definitely recommend.

Glad your finally doing some Man City history reaction. Another You Tuber has done a great video around the Colin Bell era. You should check that out. City have a very rich history. We also helped United rebuild so they could compete after the Munich disaster. Also let United ground share at Maine Rd when they were without a stadium.

That a german become a legend in england so short after WWII is the true crazy story. Better story than that he played with the broken neck

Come on mate! Even if the video was just about Trautman and his accident how would that be light-hearted, he almost died. 🙄
@sehu1291Ай бұрын
He would play the world cup for germany, but it was unusual to play with players who play abroad at this time

if it makes you feel any better I am 42 , been kicking a ball since 2 years old , been watching football pretty much since about 86 onwards, and I did not know anything about this mans history, and I also did not know he was rated so highly, I only knew about the broken neck game, and my Grandad fought in the war (UK) and supported Manchester City and I talked about football with my Grandad

The video that you watched didn't even have a picture of the incident,its very well known ,also no pictures of the man himself...
@eddhardy1054Ай бұрын
"Why didn't you know about Trautman before now?" The answer's simple mate. You tend to concentrate on modern football. You probably haven't heard of Stanley Matthews, Nat Lofthouse or Jimmy Greaves either.
