It was great to see a trapping video back up again! I hope you don't get shut down again, you show a skill set that is more important than most people realize. This is a large part of why and how early people were able to survive in the north America. That skill set may be needed again if we lose our way, and this world loses its technology. I personally think your videos should even be protected because of that. Looking forward to the coming videos.

Hey man I wanted to say I enjoy watching ur videos. I recently got into trapping a few years back and I've found them very helpful. I've always been a sportsman but a few years back I started loosing chicken's and didn't have time to wait for the culprit so I bought traps been hooked ever since. To that end I've found quite a few small hobby farms around me that that have predator problems so it seems to be a good untapped source of fur.

In Central MI, blind trail sets are my GO-TO coyote & bobcat sets! Snow cover or none, my trail sets are made lure-less (not Mafia sets) and are as effective as when I could use snares in the late 90’s. There are a handful of video examples on my channel if interested. Effectiverness is equal to snares for me but logistically, it’s a lot easier to carry in 12 snares than 12 NDZ footholds!! LOL

Do you need to worry about deer in the blind sets like that if you’re using a bigger trap?
@tommychew6544
@tommychew6544 10 ай бұрын
The deer can easily pull out and aren't injured. I've seen deer snap the top strand of tight strung barbed wire fences with no affect to them. Realize that these same traps can be used to relocate animals, if you look back a year or two ago in his videos, he set's them off with his hand.

@tommychew6544 I’ve snapped my own fingers plenty of times too lol, I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t any chance I’d have to wrestle a deer out of a trap. thank you for the reply!

Don't know what his is I've made up some with the sheet metal coni-bracket they sell at the supply houses. I already had a bag of em, so I took a few and welded on the head of a bridge spike ( great big nails more or less) They're no better or worse than similar items sold ready to use

Here in Pa conibairs are only legal in water sets. Is that a common law or are we the exception?
@maxpinson5002
@maxpinson5002 4 ай бұрын
IMO trapping laws vary pretty wildly from state to state. I'm just thankful that I can use whatever equipment that I want to help cut back on the gamebird/egg/livestock/ fawn/pet eating varmints in my area. The laws shouldn't handicap trappers in any way.
