To put it into perspective, PupRavage is a "Full Bird Colonel," to be precise. There is a Lt. Colonel and then a Full Colonel, also known as Full Bird, which is the higher rank of the two ranks of Colonel in the U.S. Army. Making the rank of "Full Colonel" is a huge deal. It's the highest rank you can earn before becoming a 1-Star General. Only the best of officers will make it to the rank of Full Colonel. (Plus, only after a lot of years of dedicated service.) If you are into Star Trek, the rank of Full Colonel is equivalent to that of a Captain. So yes, PupRavage would be the Army equivalent to a U.S. Navy Captain, Captain Kirk, or even Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise. Also, Generals are the equivalent of Admirals in the Navy or Star Trek in Fiction. A Lt. Colonol would be equivalent to a Commander in the U.S. Navy. Or Will Riker or Spock from Star Trek. I am thankful for his years of service to this country.

@WrenchingWolf924 ай бұрын
Sadly the way I learned about Ravage was through all of the hate and attacks towards him. There was a hate group on Twitter that gatekeeps the military community hardcore, and they'll go after anybody who "Disrespects" it. They'll go as far as finding people's real identities, then reporting active duty members to their superiors for doing minor insignificant things like putting furry stickers on equipment, or having a gay relationship. Thankfully, from the majority of what I've seen, the Military hasn't responded to much of their crying. But these shitbags are still doxing people and putting them in bad light. Ravage was their target of the month when he posted his retirement picture. They said a lot of really nasty baseless shit about him, and it made a lot of people's blood boil. Even AngryCops (youtube channel run by an Army Sergeant) made fun of him, but that was a more of a "Dude what were you thinking posting this" angle. The spotlight on him was huge. He got support from a lot of different groups thankfully. Furries, Pups, Gearheads (Sports gear enthusiasts, that's why he's wearing Motorcross gear), etc. All of the different communities saw what he was dealing with and took him in instantly. I'm so happy to see him swaggering around in a fursuit and gear living his life the way he wants. Badass deserves to retire the way he wants to.

I was working Public Safety at the con and walked past this interview as it was happening (before anyone asks, I looked and I do not show up in the background, lol). I was skeptical at first knowing how these furry "interviews" tend to go, but hearing them talk it was clear they were genuinely curious and supportive so all I did in the moment was make sure people left a walking lane around their table. As for Pup Ravage, he is a genuine sweetheart and a very supportive member of the community. He's been a good friend of mine in the gym/fitness fur circles, and I know he would be a GREAT interview (just don't go too deep on his Twitter, since it's under constant locked mode there's plenty of 18+ content on it, haha)

It turns out that public image stuff isn't for the people we care about, it's for the people who don't know us beyond the next thing they hear about us, and frankly if people are going to get pissy over something without knowing more about what's going on, then they're probably not the sorts of people anyone should want to be friends with, at least until they learn more about the people and the world around them beyond whatever they learned as a kid.
