I started playing a couple of months ago, 2 patches before Naraka untold. Just one thing you forgot to mention, A2 & 9S can be obtained completely free of charge, so you end up collecting around 40 something pulls to get 2B as well, or go all berserk and try to SS A2 or get their signature weapons. One more thing to note that, CN server is ahead of the Global one, which means we have tons of content (More than a year, around a year and a half if I'm not mistaken), while they still keep on releasing new stuff. The next 2 patches will introduce pets (some sort of assistant with unique stun/slow/debuff skills that can be used during combat), as well as Norman War, which is an end game content that will be added to the Global server. After my time with PGR, here are the pros and cons that I have found: Pros: - Easily works on most mobile phones (optimization) - Lots of end game content (I'm looking at you, Genshin Impact) - Good community and good streamers - Tons of skins, with some coming free or with login events (Like 9S and A2 skins you featured) - Very good gacha system, albeit most of the time you will end up reaching hard pity - Skill based game. Whales can still buy skins or signature weapons, but they don't necessarily get them so ahead in the game, and a F2P player can still compete or get very good scores, since even getting your character to SS or SSS or SSS+ is doable for F2P - Graphics are really good and game is fully playable on mobile - Very good music - No character is useless. You will end up leveling all of your roster up, to participate effectively in all game modes - Extra experimental modes involving bike driving/racing and many others Cons: - Skill bar is not really low. Game is extremely challenging and it takes some time to get used to - No element combination like Genshin Impact. Same element character are meant to play together not in different teams - Co-Op is not available in all game modes and is a bit on the laggy side (I play in global European server and had a couple of problems with others lagging badly)

@@_Onlime It does not branch alot like GI, considering most characters are available in A & S ranks (Sometimes B as well), so character stories are 1 for all ranks, counter to Genshin who have so many characters, while main story introduction puts you directly into action, it then starts slowly spoon-feeding you details of what happened, moving towards the present. With that being said, they tend to put a lot of small side stories for characters that you won't even play with (not even NPCs you could interact with). This mainly happens in the patch story, which you can play after finishing the main story. Lore is 7/10 or maybe 8, compared to other AAA titles Please note that CN server has a much lengthier lore, due to being ahead by almost a year and a half. So even if you manage to finish the main story quickly, you still have patches coming up, each introducing more to the lore

Odd to put combat skill as a con, that's literally the #1 reason to play PGR is the far superior combat to any of these other games... almost everything else is done better by its competition. No VO's is a Con to me, would of helped the boring dry writing a lot, extremely overrated story... doesn't get decent until chapter 11 or 12, before that only the interludes are any good, don't know what you all are playing on the side to think otherwise. If you want a bit slower and more forgiving/less skillful combat system, might as well just play Honkai Impact for a much better story/characters and top tier jpn VO's, with way more content than PGR has currently... you will laugh when switching over and witnessing how much PGR tried to clone/copy Honkai, but with simplified and less time consuming game modes, I know I did when I first started PGR.

I’m so glad a content creator of your size has covered this game, I remember this game came out in 2021 and I deleted it within 20 minutes after jumping back in 2022 every thing feels totally different, smooth and fun to play I love Genshin for the control and the fast pace action we get but the gameplay, characters, story and skins provided in PGR is so rewarding and fun just like Genshin I totally recommend it now

The controls are same as ever last year, if you stayed longer last year you'll be getting some s ranks, but yeah so many changed, story, more characters, the game is so f2p friendly,every character have different mechanics which is REALLY FUN, Kuro(game Dev) always make the best to pgr, and I recommend ya'll to stay longer

My gacha experience started with genshin at release. I thought the combat was good with all the reactions and combos etc. But then i started playing honkai and realized there could be better combat mechanics in another mihoyo game. Lastly, I've started PGR on its global release and goodness gracious its definitely what a gacha game should be. Its crazy fluid combat mechanics and ultra F2P friendliness with how you can get every single new 5 star (S rank in PGRs case) with just logging in daily and doing events as a F2P shows what a gacha game should be. If you get the welkin (monthly pass in PGRs case) you can even get a chance to get all the characters at S rank and their signature weapons. Its not only good for F2P players but its actually pretty good for whales too. There are two banner types for every single banner that one is a higher base chance higher pity banner and the other is lower base chance and a lower pity banner. Lower pity banner offers very high consistency with the pulls which a whale could potentially want. (On character release, unlike genshin, the release banner features the release character in %100 instead of a %50/%50) My only problem with PGR is the no adventure mechanics that I've gotten used to from genshin. If we got a game with PGRs gacha and combat mechanics and the open world map and worldbuilding of genshin, we could get the absolute perfect gacha game. Spoiler alert, PGRs developer kuro games is also making a genshin competitor with crazy devil may cry like combat called Wuthering Waves. Its gonna get a test release soon so if you're interested, definitely check it out with the gameplay test gameplay videos in youtube)

They're going for a PC client as of now. And to correct on the inspiration part, the game is actually inspired by Nier series itself as you can see how there are similarities in playstyles.

Been playing since PGR’s release and I absolutely love this game. Very F2P if you consistently play. You can easily obtain every S rank character just by committing to the game. And it’s also it’s 1 year anniversary which has a banner with all the S characters besides luna that can give you 100% rate

@@JojoDigitalArtist once you're done with the permanent content, an hour a day (at most 30 minutes every 12 hours) for daily stuff is barely a chore. and even then you can skip all of that. the main source of BC (game currency, to pull on gacha) is Warzone which resets twice a week, and Pain Cage which resets every week, where you don't even have to score well. just enter, die, save score, and you're done.

Kuro is well known for being the most f2p friendly in the industry. Keep up with your dailies and you’ll be getting every character - no bs 50/50 or anything you just get rewarded for your time with EVERY character. I do think extreme casuals might not enjoy as much since the combat can be hard and the endgame revolves around scoreboards. But I love PGR. The music is fantastic (you hear streamers playing PGR music while streaming genshin lol), the story is quite good once it picks up, the combat is very fluid and the orb matching is a novel idea in a skill based combat game. It’s improvement in terms of available content since launch too. Only thing is it is a menu based gacha which is standard pretty much but people only familiar with a genshin open world should be prepared for no exploration as that isnt the focus. However they are developing Wuthering Waves which looks absolutely LIT af so far and is shaping up to be open world PGR, probably my most hyped game gacha or no gacha.

Its f2p friendly but it could take some time getting used to because of the hack and slash nature and the difficulty because you really feel it getting way harder unlike other gachas where you just whale and trivialize their difficulty.

The difficulty is what makes this game so good in my opinion. I love that in Babel and Norman you just can’t whale your way out of it. I mean look at Rexlent. He has every character at SSS+ with maxed 6* weapons and still struggles sometimes. It’s a very nice challenge

So I usually never comment on videos but i can't sing the praises of this game enough. It's been a year since I started playing and I have never once been disappointed. From the gacha to the characters to the gameplay, everything is amazingly designed. As a burnt out Genshin player, PGR was a breath of fresh air and since its launch it has been my favorite mobile game. By all means, the game isn't 100% perfect (but it's pretty damn close) and I wouldn't recommend making it your main game (after all, it is still a stamina gated gacha game at the end of the day), but please don't hesitate to try out the game if you are considering. Kuro Games has yet to disappoint, can't wait for Wuthering Waves!

Thank you for recommending PGR, IWTL.. i've been playing PGR since day 1 it launched on Global, this and genshin are my only games. as what iwtl said, the game is really f2p friendly, and the gacha system is really generous. don't worry if you think you cant compete because you're f2p, it's not. PGR is one of the game i know that require a good gameplay skill, so f2p can really compete in this game. another info about PGR, the game is released by KURO, the same developer that is working on Wuthering Waves (the most potential Genshin comptitor game right now). so yeah, go check it out, you won't regret it

Hello! New PGR player here, I am writing this based on my experience but I originally played PGR for the Nier: Automata Collab and I must say I was not disappointed in trying out the game. In fact, it kept me in the loophole because of the story and the characters in it especially since most of the characters I have been voiced by my favorite JP VAs such as Lucia having 2B's and Mikasa's VA, Ishikawa Yui. Vera who was my first A-class character is voiced by Inoue Marina, who is Armin from AOT. So yep, putting VAs aside. I tried this game at the start of July and 1 month passed by really fast, I'm currently at 70 level experience, that's how fast you can level up depending on how you spend your serum and do a couple of grinds which is much better than the one I'm usually used to. They have this Auto Clear function which allows you to consume serum without having to tediously fight a stage over and over again. The leveling up of characters in PGR is quite costly and requires heavy investment, you are given 5 free characters (Lucia, Liv, Bianca, Nanami, and Camu) which are pretty decent imo if you build them well. There are team synergies and Meta involved but being quite new to it, it will take some time for me to understand. All in all, it is a very good game, the story and the characters I believe are its best selling points, for me at least. Just the plot of saving humanity from the Punishing Virus using Constructs and your integral role as a Commandant. Plus, you get to play as the enemy in one of the Hidden Story routes, which is cool because you'd get to see the other side of the story. The design of the bosses are amazing and they be quite a pain to beat if you aren't leveled up enough or use certain elements the enemies have weak points against. You also get to know more about your Constructs if you play their story in the Interlude Anthology. It's fascinating imo, so do check it out. A great game to pass the time and it really is something I look forward to playing more nowadays than Genshin. This game gives great rewards, it might not seem that much at first but I'm telling you the amount of free stuff you can get as a F2P player is really amazing.

nice to see a new player sharing their experience like this, but im just giving you a heads up please treat PGR as a sidegame rather than a game you can play for hours, the beginner phase does give you that idea but once you've cleared the beginner stuff you'd only take a few minutes to complete necessities PGR is made to be a side game, although if youre engrossed into the combat like me, you could just mald at warzone, guild challenges and trial zones to just pass time if you dont have other games to play, PGR might get old fast quick and i dont wanna see someone quitting at this time since the upcoming content is sooo good.. believe it or not untold naraka (this patch) i consider to be one of the least content-packed event the game has offered, it only has the nier collab going for it you can ask me for more questions but other than that have fun! :)

Ive been following this game ever since it got out on the playstore. I liked the story and graphics, but found it a little generic (not the gameplay, it was and still is awesome). I was constantly on and off but each time i logged in, i see improvements and more content. More unique and intriguing characters, more voicelines and interactions. More events and rewards. It was slow and steady but im glad the game is getting more recognitions because now i am in a pgr hole and i dont see myself getting out anytime soon :D

Well, it took so long for kurogame to make some advertisment/sponsor for this game. Trust me, this game is super worth to play. Even for f2p player/whatever you call, still can enjoy most of the content. The combat/gameplay system is top notch, fast paced, and smooth. Also the dificulty can vary from easy to very hard (based on ur preferences) but also need skill, reflexes, and strategy. The character design and 3D model is so smooth and detailed, also for the animation is so fluid and smooth. The story is good and intresting, the music is so good and banger (never enough to hear it everytime). The gacha system is friendly to f2p, dolphin, even for a whale. No need too much RNG for gearing up (not like articact farming and upgrade from u kwon where it is).

I love this game, been playing since August 2021 and it doesn't feel old at all. Tbh, Untold Naraka is a pretty dead and timegated event and the only thing going for it is just the NieR collab. But still, it is amazing. If you don't really care about placing at the top of leaderboards, you can still enjoy the game as a f2p, and if you plan your resources well, you can get all of the S rank characters and max them out on their release day (you'll prolly have to count on luck and light spending for their signature weapons though). Definitely the most F2P friendly gacha game I've ever played, and there's a lot of "git gud" kinda content, so it's not only about "collecting waifus/husbandos, building resources and steamroll the new content on day one". you definitely need skill to do some of the event content over here, and the game will just get better and better every patch from here on. it's amazing how the boss fights are getting more and more creative over time.

Tips for new players. Dont spend black cards on novice banner, you will get some free wish from lvling up. After 2nd/3rd mission on mail you can get free S rank. Important note you can play any character you want, that's just my recomendations. - Kamui is a dark tank and i recomended to chose him. On novice banner you can chose Watanabe Astral and Vera. That way you have good dark team on beginning of the game. - Nier team is almost for free. 9s from daily login, a2 from event. You only need to pull for 2b. Every of nier character come up with free 5* weaphon. A2 ultimate give 60% dmg reduction, 9s passive give another 10% and 2b skill reduce enemy dmg by around 50-60%. That's perfect team for a new players, very tanky with good dmg and cc. - Lucia Crimson abyss/Alpha. She is one of the best dps in the game. Her gameplay is very fast and challenging. If you cant dodge she will just die. But if you willing to spend some time with her she will carry you hard. - Rosetta is the best physical tank. And good on her own. You can pick her and use free Bianca from daily login. She is a good future investment because almost every physical team want her. I wish everyone good luck on your pulls.

I would add that Lucia Plume is also a good investment for any new player being one of the best dps in the game and the only ice attacker in the game even in cn. Rosetta and Alpha aren’t on the beginner s rank selector though. They’re on the anniversary selector which costs 600 RC

Fully recommend to give it a go! The osts are all BANGERS (check out Narwhal, Lamia, Revelation, Hikari, Dust) the list goes on and on. Plus the game is going to get more insane with each patch :) It's more skill based so really f2p freindly and you get enough currency to pull for each new S rank if you do the daily and weekly missions

I’m so glad to see someone with a platform like yours covering this game. It truly is a hidden gem. I feel like the competitive aspect of the game can turn away some players due to it being pretty meta heavy. But it’s very f2p friendly and with the right planning you can get every debut s rank. Started playing a couple of days ago too. The event gives you a copy of 9S (from login days) and A2 from doing the event so if you want a full nier team and don't care much about competitive scene you just need to pull for 2B. But if you're investing for long term a lot of content creator suggest to pull A2 1st and get the shard to SS her from events.

Finally PGR is doing paid sponsorship. First Vtubers and now more content creator that focuses on gaming. Although I feel like it only become more popular because of Wuthering Waves and the Nier Collab. Anyway welcome all new Commandants, this game is very free to play friendly and have a lot of QoL that we wanted on Genshin, like for example more team presets, artifact load outs, multi-battle for farming, a full serum(or resin in Genshin) won't even take a minute to spend all, thanks to this multi-batttle feature. It even has a Guild system! Also building characters is very easy since there's no RNG in artifacts stats. Resonance is there but you don't have to get perfect ones to reach high ranks since after all, its still a skill based game. One thing to note is the gacha here doesn't have soft pity so most of the time, you will get the rate up character in the hard pity or 60th pull. Anyone who played this since launch would've gotten all characters by now. PGR isn't an open world exploration type but I enjoy playing this game more than Genshin. For those interested in Nier only, you only need to pull 2B from the gacha to get the full team since A2 and 9S are given free. If you start now, you should be able to farm enough black cards(gacha currency) to pull 2B which is of course 100% guarantee when you hit the pity.

Have high hopes for Wuthering Waves. As a whale, I already decided to stop spending $ on Genshin once I got my 2 teams. There's just isn't anything to strive for in the game anymore. No proper endgame system and artifacts rng is still a mess (don't even allow you to reroll stats). WW looks way better in terms of combat and you can use your travelling gadgets in combat too, which opens up to a lot of options for engagements. Knowing Kurogame, it will definitely have a challenging endgame and combat mechanics. Even if you talk about story, Genshin is kinda weak in that department too. I can confidently say Kiana from Hi3 has more depth Vs any of Genshin's chars lol. What drives people to play Genshin is its graphics, combat fluidity, char design and music. Genshin is like a vase, beautiful on the outside but hollow inside.

I'm primarily playing this game since Nier Automata is one of my favorite video games, and it shares some similarities with this one in terms of concept... This game doesn't require you to work extremely hard at grinding like many other games, and the pity system in this game is such a blessing for f2p. The mechanics of this game are easy to learn, but it can also be pretty challenging at the same time (in a good way). So yeah, this game is casual enough for me who doesn't have time to sit for hours playing console or PC games. You can just play this game during your free little time and drain all your "Serum" or just read the story before going back to work or doing other stuff like touching some grass

So glad you covered this game, it deserves the attention as well as the devs, Kuro Game. This game respects your time, and your money. Banners rotate a lot more often so you have lots of opportunity to save and actually get what you want. Pity is at 60 and a 70% rate for event banners. Mostly, the combat is friggin smooth. mathematically, the gacha for hard pity can be calculated the same as genshin. 60 pulls to get 100% event character on pgr. but on genshin it's 180 for the 100%. genshin's 90-roll "pity" is just to get on a single 50% probability iteration. the distribution curve is different but the raw 100% is still 60 PGR vs 180 genscam

As day 1 player of PGR, if you like malding, hard, skill base game, then I highly recommend you pgr Heres why? 1. First at the start of your game, after reaching certain level, you are given S rank selector. You can choose whoever you want. 2. Yes the game is very F2P friendly. You get BC from daily dialies, Warzone and Paincage. Just completing these, youll be able gain a lot of BC per week. You see WZ and PPC are scoreboard competition, but just completing them, you still get BC regardless of your score. 3. Yeah of course gameplay, BGM, the effects, matrix, 4. In the later patches, well be able to encoounter enemies who can ignore matrix, do matrix, and parry etc. 5. For the story. The earlier chapter are kinda boring, please bear with it. But in later chapter, story greatly improved. Yes i undesrtand that the story don't have Voices, but if you like VN then its a win-win If you are really interested in game, please check it out, we don't gatekeep, however, there will always people who will trashtalk this and compare it to other game. Please do bear in mind, i don't hate Genshin Impact. Its a good game. Yeah. But please don't be toxic. Its not your obligation to compare every game to genshin. Just doing it. The game is great, been playing it since global release even tho it's not a smooth release but overall until now the game been blast and very F2P for a gacha game. I didn't spend anything but still can get S base characters to SS and A base characters to SSS/SSS+ with farming in Pain Cage mode, yes it's take you a while to get all the fragments but at least i don't have to spend anything and still can hold my position in the second rank in competitive mode like leader rank Warzone (any gacha game required you to spend if you want to be in the top of the leaderboard and that even PGR but at least in PGR you have a chance to be in the second highest rank with patients and farming without spending your money) and at least you didn't have to deal with the rate off banners for the new character you want and didn't make you badly stress out because didn't get the rate up characters

As new players, PGR gives you 2 S rank character for free. During the current Nier collab event, you also only need to roll 2B as 9S and A2 are free as well. The game is very generous, be patient and you can obtain all new characters in game.

Warning, always worry when a game is super F2P friendly at the start because it usually has a hard stopping point where you won't be getting nearly as many free wishes. Already kind of running into that problem with PGR (I joined a week or two ago for the Nier collab) EDIT: You'll need about 10-11k black cards in order to guarantee 2B if your luck is absolutely terrible like mine was T-T A2: You can get from the event with the event currency, and I think 9S there should be enough days left for the 7 day login to get him for free too.

You can save enough bc to get every new s construct (60 pity, not to be mistaken with s transcendants, 10 pity) because they are released every 2 patches and 100% rate up. Rerun banners is at 70% rate up and weapons at 80% rate up. You can even farm them to ss. 5* weapon, which is farmable, is usually good enough for f2p if you want to get every s ranks that will be released, otherwise you need to skip or get lucky

guess thats the downsides of starting on the game late, but the thing about pgr being f2p friendly is not its newbie rewards but the amount of bc u get just from playing the game enough every week. You should be able to earn enough black cards to hit pity on the newest constructs hence why day 1 f2p players all have the characters now. Buut thats not saying new players now wont be able to catch up on all the characters, based on the banners following this update up until cn's 2nd anniversary, majority of the character releases in the next patches will be banner releases for transcendants and A class characters which both only require 10 pulls to get for each, those extra bc u save can be used to pull previous constructs when the 2nd anniversary banner arrives.so even if u start late, you should be able to still get all premiums albeit in a much longer time depending on how well u save.

Just a recommendation, Always put your support characters(in this case 9S) in the blue slot so that they can heal your active character via their QTE, And when the support is your active character you can heal other characters while they use they're QTE.

While PGR seems like a great game, it’s personally not my cup of tea. Something about the fast hack and slash play style with little thought just doesn’t appeal to me. What I enjoy about Genshin is the complexity of characters with different focuses on on-field/ off-field damage and support, combined with the elemental reactions. Genshin can have fast game play, but it still requires breaks to re-setup supports and manage stamina, etc. I can still easily make-out what’s going on, while looking at PGR my mind is just spinning from boredom and dizziness from the constant fast movements and barrage of attacks. Overall I hope those who like this play style enjoy it!

It's because the visual cue for attacks is kinda hard hard to see with all the effects and color pallete since they didn't make it stand out a bit I finally tried to commit to the game while being utterly disgusted by no voice acting in main story for the bosses but still it gets boring when the only "cool" part of the gameplay is just the bosses since mobs are just bland and gets CCed very easily But yeah the devs ought to improve the way they show enemy attacks tbh since the model and color of the enemies tends to blend with the background making it hard to see

There's nothing complex about Genshin's combat system though. You can take almost anything and still slap abyss. What I like about PGR is its fast paced combat combined with timed dodges and parries. Genshin is the one where you can turn off your brain and play.

@@roben8186 more like PGR needs to memorize tempo since visual cue and 3D model dont add up most of the time And i think that's the most basic reason why PGR seems harder than other games Since the devs is very sloppy with integration between animation, sound cue, and hit boxes The timings on enemies is unnatural and mismatched with the visual cues That's why you need to re wire your brain to adapt with PGR timing cuz visual cue is useless I'm saying this cuz i was interested after watching boss fights from videos but when i actually fought them myself i finally understand why PGR combat feels so off to me And that's because of the mismatched signaling that's all over the place It's a good game but needs to adapt and memorize the timing since in that department PGR got it's L from other games

@@mleong75 complex =/= difficult. I never commented on Genshin’s difficulty. I just find it more entertaining because the little nuances from animations, personality and movement in characters, and mechanics like stamina, physics, and such that make the game feel more real. When I look at PGR it all blends in and is void of personality. Different weapons in Genshin play dramatic roles roles in how you play the characters with pros and cons, in PGR it feels to be all hack-and-slash regardless. It’s good but it certainly isn’t competing in the same space Genshin is, and comes across more like run of the mill open world gacha. That’s just my take.

I played it from the beginning and is an amazing game, the only reason I stopped playing it is cause I'm quite a hardcore tryhard player and I didn't have too much time to play it in a competitive way (being around 5-10% top of the EU server as f2p at that time), so I decided to drop it (also my shitty phone lagged sometimes). But for all those genshin players who will for a challenging game in terms of gamemodes with leaderboard rewards, this game is god level. And the gamemodes actually reward you with higher scores by dodging and avoiding damage, and not just by spamming skills and smashing the attack buttons. Also the skills system are much more detailed that genshin one. Personally the genshin devs should take notes on the dodging and timing importance used in this game. Really rewarding. Being completly honest the only thing genshin is above this game is story wise, and is still quite interesting. Music and design wise they are at the same level, and gameplay wise pgr is above by far. PD: The company is developing an open world game similar to genshin (this one is more like a Honkai one), were dodging and timing skills also look quite rewarding and important, and they probably add some challenging stuff, so for those who like the open world style of genshin and look for some difficulty, keep an eye on the game: Wuthering waves

I've been playing this recently cause of the Nier Collab. For those looking to get into it for the Collab like me, you need to be commandant rank level 40 to be able to do the event quests. You can get A2 for free through the event quests currency. You can get 9S from 7 days of logging in rewards and you start getting these rewards from Commandant level 20 (I think it was). However, they throw levels at you as well as serum (resin in genshin) so you'll get the daily logins within a day if you play enough. It took me 3 days to get to level 40 but I'm sure you can get there in 1 if you no life it as I didn't really spent all day.

Love this game, the reason I played it is how similar to honkai, and I absolutely love honkai. Im not even comparing cuz each has their own good quality, so I enjoyed both since their release.

I just have to say, its definitely worth trying out and playing through the story a bit. It had a shaky launch but its at a great point right now and will get A LOT better soon too. Also you can rank up EVERY S RANK TO SS for FREE.
