Another missed opportunity could of changed the controllers for an 8bitdo style NES controller. Change the the colour of the HDD to grey and at least put a sticker on it

Need for speed on 3D0 was the best, and a driving sim. They mucked it up later by turning it into an arcade unrealistic game.

For about the same price you could get an Orange Pi 800. It says it's running Android 12 on Orange Pi OS but I don't believe it. Definitely better than this though.

Looks nice, I think though some wireless Famicom controllers and maybe not including some of those systems that struggle then this would be a nice little box to play😁

Thank you for this wonderful review, I am now deciding if I get this one or the R1/TX3 made by same company. I like this one because of the Super Famicom design but i don't like the old chipset they used. The Hyperbase R1/TX3 model has 905X3 chip and more RAM memories. I am confused which one to get. Can you help me guys :)

You assumed it is a HDD/SSD when it could just be using the SATA connector on attach the flash in the cart. You should have opened the cart to see what was in there.

If i get it correct, slap FreeNAS on an empty MicroSD card, plug a big sata harddrive into the cardridge slot, connect ethernet et voilà - got a network file dump in a neat retro shell 😆 ... wondering how they connected the sata hardrive / how it performs as a NAS (MB/s) 🤔
@JarodMoonchild1975 Жыл бұрын
@NopA DeLik : It's probably not an actual SATA hard drive per se, but more than likely a flash drive cart. And I don't know what you're talking about, so I couldn't guess how it would perform, just wanted to point out that it's probably not an actual hard drive they've stuck inside a NES cart.
@nopadelik9286 Жыл бұрын
@@JarodMoonchild1975 according to what Wicked starts to explain at 03:10 it really is a SATA hdd, at 03:44 he shows the cartridge from the side to see right onto the hhd's SATA interface, and this particular 2,5" hdd still comes with an additional connector to get power via LP4 3,5" floppy drive power connector, so probably a vintage 2,5" hdd. SSDs and uptodate 2,5" hdds don't have the floppy power connector anymore nowadays, afaik. What makes using the SATA interface so interesting is that most tiny ARM-SOC-boards like the Raspberries don't come with it, and the ones that do are more expensive AND then mostly just connecting SATA via USB2.0 which is bottlenecking the possible hdd speed around 30mb/s max. Those all are just some nerdy specs which are quite important to people who want to build cheap DIY solutions as a file server in their home network. NAS = N.etwork A.ttached S.torage, and there's a chance this tiny retro emulation machine may also serve the needs of somebody who needs a NAS anyways.

@@nopadelik9286 Ok, gotcha. My level ends at adding Nincade boards to my NES/SNES minis for wireless controllers, and hacking them to add more games, lol.

Need to leave the old chipsets where you found them and focus on new. You can't continue to be surprised a S905 chip won't run things well, even if the device was made this year. Be nice if Wicked could or would draw a line and only buy products with AMLOGIC S905x3 or comparable Allwinner, Rockchip, MediaTek, Qualcomm, TI, and Nvidia cpus, but not limited to. I don't want to assume but with the amount of hardware you've spotlighted, I dare not question your expertise in this field. I don't care who branded it, but I tire of pretending to go into this with little to no research about what makes it potentially a product that we might actually want. If this is what not to buy, then I applaud the efforts. Show me something I can't live without, please, because I think that's really what you are hoping for Wicked 🖤.

You took the words out of my mouth I have a $79 cell phone from boost Mobile that has the dimensity 700 in it and it can run some GameCube and PlayStation 2 games really I guess the search continues by the way could Android run that front end emuelec?
@ArtDeth Жыл бұрын
@@alceearsberry4150 since the EMUELEC image boots the device when the SD card is inserted, it's configured to work with the cpu, sound, memory, emmc storage, HDMI and the network, if you found an image that was tweaked for all those things that your phone has, then yes. But not without much effort to get it like that first.
@alceearsberry4150 Жыл бұрын
Emuelec just got an update a couple days ago I think it's version 4.2 why do they keep using the same chip my god the Chinese must have billions of these chip its a shame because the new concept with the hard drive is a great idea just imagine the performance you would get with a RK chip like the 3328 nice try wicked the search continues
