It's not only the performance and the graphics but the interaction with the pals. Fans have been asking for years to be able to mount your own Pokemon and use them outside of battle. A fire pal lighting your torches and a water pal watering your crops just makes so much sense. In Pokemon all you do is catch and fight and the gameplay loop is not even that interesting and stayed the same for 30 years.

Flower one was my third catch. Had to cheese it, of course, but I got it. They are VERY strong and absolutely - and quickly - destroy just about everything but bosses. And some bosses. Can't use when trying to capture anything because one-shot most things so I, instead, use a leveled up "experienced villager" (the one by the statute). She has shit damage, but she's very tanky so it's good bait while I pelt them with arrows.

As a game developer, I think this game is amazing. Often times there is this problem that developers face, and I think it's common with all creative things. When you know a lot about how things work, sometimes it can be hard to identify what a player wants. Especially when you're a developer that plays games with other developers. It's easy to look at what exists and assume no one will pay attention to your thing unless it's "better". The PalWorld devs really did something special here, and I think it's their inexperience and brash problem-solving that served as a positive. Hopefully they will keep expanding upon the game and not get wrapped up in the typical cycle of improving what they've already made to the point that things break. I know the developers have stated they don't care about the money, and just want to make a game people like, but I will be so sad if a year from now, this is a Conan Exiles situation.

I hope Nintendo learns from Palworld. Yes, the game has its edges. Yes, even without the few bugs i noticed, it would probably not be a "straight 10/10" right now. But it shows a very strong headstart IMO. The gameplay and visuals are already miles ahead of what the recent pokemon games have done and Palworld is 26€ right now on steam. It is also much more than a "Pokemon clone". the stone and the wood that make you stop moving is meant for a pal(pokemon) to transport these in a nearby chest and those pal have a specialty looking like a box (before last one).

I watched your stream, then bought the game then played it till midnight nonstop. This game is very good. It has a lot of what Minecraft has, mixed with Pokemon, mixed with Conan Exiles. It's pretty great.

If there was some more pal micromanagement I could see some really good endgame raids. or even arena PVP with some actual strategy. I'll wait to see if they are cooking something. For now it's promising but I don't want to burn my playthrough on an early access knowing I don't usually replay games. I'll have to wait and see The mount system looks fun ngl Edit. apparently they are indeed planning to add arena and raid boss. I wish they would consider some more in depth pal management like how you control followers in Mass Effect.
