This Game Is Completely Different Now | Sons of The Forest!

Patch 06 is out and things are broken lol. Just a quick video showcasing of everything new added in Update 06, The Log Sled, Rock Walls, Fireplace, Effigies, brought some amazing buffs to the game and are truly a great addition! for Sons of The Forest. Cant say I've noticed that much difference in the health of enemies in hard survival mode. It's always more difficult when you first start. because you need to build up your health levels. You can now speed that up with some of the recipes. .

why does nobody seem to place the turtle shell launcher at the end of their tent slide? does it not give as much height or distance?

This may be TLDR, but you opened a can of worms... LOL I like this game, I really do. I see the potential. But that's all it has at the moment. The balance is still WAY messed up. It's really 2 games in one. The speedrun to get stuff to defeat the boss ASAP and "Get to da choppa!!!". Then building your fancy base, and defending it. I say game 1 is a speedrun, because every (game) day that passes, exponentially more creepies spawn in the caves. I'm nearing day 200 in one save, and 30-50 assorted creepies spawn outside the cave anytime I go near (50 yards or so) a cave entrance. You don't dare go inside a cave after day 30, so don't waste time building an elaborate base until after you kill the demon boss. At the gold armor cave entrance on the big lake, creepies actually rain down from the sky, they are spawning so many. The "survival" mechanics leave a lot to be desired right now too. There is literally no defense against the "cold and wet" debuff. None of the clothing differentiates itself as warm. You go away from the fire, and instantly you've got the same cold debuff no mater what you're wearing. Also, If you are inside a room in your base and have a ceiling more than 1 grid block high... you are not considered "indoors", and you have the cold/wet debuff. "But the torch..." Yeah, but then you can't have a weapon. And as soon as you swap out to one... Instant cold and wet debuff, that you can't do a damn thing about. So you speedrun the boss. Hopefully have Virginia by then, to sort of protect you, if she feels like it, while you cut down trees and build your base. Stockpiling massive amounts of dried meat and fish while doing so, just so you can stand by the fire, killing time, all winter. Right now... the clothing is a joke. The armor is a joke. The lack of ammo is a joke. The nerfed melee weapons are a joke. The amount of food is a joke (too many edible animals). The rewards are a joke (just 2+2 peices of creepy armor for killing Mr and Mrs Puffie??? I'm full tech armor by that time). Oh, and the worst part of Update 6... I built a 3 story base, with 100% stone walls all around the first floor and solid log walls for the 2nd and 3rd levels, zero doors and windows, zip line in and out only. Yet most of the creepies glitch right through the walls as if the STONE F'ing WALL, wasn't even there. It used to be just the slinkies... now they all do.

idk i tried custom difficulty settings i set it on hardest possible and i realize later that my hydration, hunger and energy is always full lol

4:58 haven't seen a cannible helping an injued comrad getting carried away, also i was wondering about the resting but not seeing no change my character would be tried even if rested with outside tarp... Have to staaart reading all the additions after every update or just keep watching ur videos since ur doing a great job keeping us updated.... TY

I still think the game is too short and very empty. 0.6 Update helped A LOT of issues with SOTF But that doesn't change the fact that the game still lacks: - Context for the story - Lacks caves and bunkers - No drawbacks to rushing the objectives - Not enough reasons to build a base - Commands for Virgina - Major parts of the map are empty - Electricity is still a bit lackluster only being able to power small lightbulbs - Optimization is very bad especially when winter arrives with heavy particle effects. - The game is still very very buggy - Both bosses: Puffton Couple / Demon Boss are basically reskins with no effort put in to them. - Killing the Bosses have no cool rewards aside from mutant armor which is already plenty. - Silver Jacket guy is suppose to be the main antagonist but is barley in the game. - We still haven't seen the giant Mutant from the trailer. - The game is too generous with food and water making survival far too easy even on hardcore. - Most mutants are really boring to fight and don't highlight their uniqeness at all. - Sling shot is still utterly useless ever since launch - Building is very tedious by having slow animations - The map looks the exact same everywhere you go - Not enough landmarks visible without GPS These are some of the issues I have with the game, but I'm sure 50% of these things will be fixed.

@@VersionBest What I mean with lacking caves is that: - The way caves are distrobuted across the map. It’s obvious that most caves / bunkers are located on the western part of the map. Therefor it feels like either there are too few or they should spread them out more evenly across the map. Imagine ordering a peperoni pizza but all of the peperonis are on the left side of the pizza, it doesn’t make any sense for them to do it that way. The game doesn’t have enough oppurtunities to show off the story because you can only really do it through caves. So my idea is for them to add more caves with important items and then add cutscenes / context towards the story. I doubt they will do it to the caves we already have. So adding more caves and adding more story would be the smartest move.

This game need more story line to it I was very disappointed and before I finished the game I was met with going in the 3 different caves excepting adventure and it all led me down to the same cave for the gold armor it drained me n my friend not even that it was such a big cave for no reason no boss no nothing and then the game just ended by the next cave we found and we felt confused of the story line and disappointed about the length the game and lack of peak fighting moments and the the one boss there was just way to strong very heard maybe I was bad but best way is to drag in a corner and throw every bomb u had idk there’s alot but I hope they finalize and iron out the core mechanics as they have been and then really focus on the lore and engagement with some more unique fights and add more above ground stuff that is more important to the lore every camp after you find the knight v and pot and some clothing everything felt useless we spent hour or two traveling the whole map checking trails and we’d find minor things but it just felt like a waste of time but I see a great game in the world and hope to see it reach its full potential

Probably the best survival game ever made is not worth $30 to you, but the same call of duty released every year is definetly worth $80 to you im sure!
