I love how world order, dungeons, and world bosses can vary between players. It's such a neat concept. Also, multiplayer doesn't require bells or embers or a Shit Of a Thousand Anuses to do, you just invite your friend and rest at a crystal

The fact that multiplayer is so seamless, and that you can play through the entire campaign as one session, (rather than having to rejoin after every boss, or having sections be "solo only"), is the biggest thing that I wish From would copy in their games. That, and for me personally, the fact that there's no pvp. I like pvp when it's something you can choose to do, but having it mandatory when you're playing coop like From games do just makes the coop experience worse in my book.

Nerud, the first world you had, is one of the less impressive worlds. Every playthrough starts you with different worlds, has you progress to different worlds, and even has different versions of those different worlds. Entire optional bosses are hidden in different versions of the world that you can only get to by having a different playthrough, re-rolling the world in adventure mode, or by going to new game plus. The game has a LOT of replayability, and at higher difficulties you see more variety in enemies and their move sets change as well. Definitely recommend, and its more fun to play with friends.

Ok…it’s going on August 2024 right now…my friends on their first playthru because ps extra just picked it up.. first biome was the nightweaver asylum, then when we ended up on nerude I’m like…we should really look for that shutdown key to alt kill the world boss. We found it, I geeked my brains out all over my poor friend. “You have no idea how lucky you are!” Then we went back to the asylum and got the tranquil heart. First playthru. She already had kill switch and the toxic release valve and the star shot.

To add to the randomness, you also don't get the same starting point and world completion quest every time you play through the story. I had a completely different final boss on N'erud.

The best part about this game is how its procedurally generated. So you can replay and get totally different bosses, items, etc. and get a different experience every time. Also there is always a purple item (a ring or amulet) randomly placed in each dungeon and overworld section, on top of some loot that is scripted to certain tile sets.

Its so much better from remnant 1 where every goddamn intersection is procedurally generated so you walk down the same street over and over and go devaju., i have been to this place before. At least in remnant 2, they procedure generate much larger map tiles and/or fixed dungeon maps so the levels are more coherently designed instead of being the same 3 street intersections over and over but you come from different sides.

A few other tips/things to note: - You might not know it the first time you play when jumping into the game without knowing much about it, but the levels are procedurally generated to an extent. So replaying them with friend's or rerolling the world (below) means you'll have a different experience each time. - Once you defeat a world boss, you can play that world in "Adventure Mode" back at the Ward's crystal to reroll the entire world for new bosses, new dungeons, new side quests and sometimes completely different storylines for that world - world bosses have alternative versions based on dialogue choices you make, side quests you completed, or items found. This incentivizes rolling the world in Adventure mode to fight them for their different boss drops - The "Aberration" bosses (normal enemies but red) have random "boss suffixes" (the words above their health bar) that change up how they play or what extra mechanics they have, allowing for some variety when replaying those dungeons

Don't forget that Remnant is random generated to a degree, so your start on N'erud was the one of the last places I went to on my first playthrough as well as you fought alternate versions of bosses. Also, you have to break the shit in the maps to get more loot, you find more important things from exploring and finding purple lootables, but almost everything is breakable and most of the time drops extra scrap

Remnant's hole gimmick is that you have procedural generation with a plethera of secrets. Illusory walls, hidden pressure plates, alternate boss kills. On top of your world boss can be different, and each world has a list of possible side dungeons, all with secrets. In a single playthrough you barely scratch the surface of what this game has in content

Remnant 2 has very few enemies, you either fight drones or enemy with gun, but the "elite" enemies and the bosses are fun. If they make a remnant 3 I really want to see more enemies unique to their own world instead of spaming the same enemy everywhere. Also the world Zanny got at the start (there are 3 worlds you get them in a random order) is prob the worst one visually. Its the grim and grimy sci-fi world with a desert overworld full of zombies and drones. There is also a fantasy forrest with goat people and just straight up bloodborne.

I loved Ne'rud. Mainly because the atmosphere and setting. Also learning about the backstory of it during my respective procedurally generated story of it was very depressing and at the same time super interesting.

As a thorough enjoyer of the first game and this one, as in I have about 95% of the gear from the first game and I pre-ordered this one. The game is actually really fire, but there is so much more to it than you see here, loads of puzzles, there's invisible doors, and actually a lot of different loot. There's a really complex (Not that complex, but like still having to search through 70 rings for the right ones makes it harder) build system which is only really important on higher difficulty. The story is actually ok, but it makes significantly more sense (Like 5% more sense) if you played the first one. There's also some quite difficult boss fights (Given I think the harder ones have been nerfed)

Me and my friend are currently playing the game and I got to say that Lossom was by far the best area to explore(except for the sewer sections) it’s more fun when a story actually has casual dialogue from the enemies and a actual decent story for the area. The first area you were in is honestly the worst area in terms of flow and also no clear idea as to why shit went wrong and by the end I was like “why did we have to beat that guy”. Currently at the last boss fight and it’s just as confusing due to ‘reasons’.
