38:10 A card bearing the guardian sigil will move to the opposing space immediately after the opposing creature is placed. The card will stay there until another opposing creature is placed somewhere else opposing an empty space. A card bearing the burrower sigil will only move at the end of the turn when the opposing creatures begin attacking. The card will then move in front of each creature opposing an empty space, meaning that the card can block multiple creatures.

I'm gonna unburden some feelings here, recently I've watched a streamer play this game, and it made me feel very uncomfortable how in typical streamer fashion, he didn't read what the cards did, barely read the dialogue/instructions, didn't try to explore the game and his surroundings nor think about his plays... Watching Merg play this and appreciate every part of the game the way he usually does (and the way I do) is so nice, really shows how chill this series is going to be and especially entertaining it will be, makes me really happy about the future.

If you havent died at least once or twice (i dont really know) at the second phase of the bossfight he will cheat and spawn flying grizzlies on all spots he can have a card on, rigging the fight to be unbeatable. Same goes for the 3rd bossfight, requiring at least 3 deaths to beat.

INSCRYPTION PLAYTHROUGH IS REAL LETS GO! I'm really happy to see you playing this Merg, I really think it's one of the best blends of gameplay and atmosphere out there and there's a lot of different strategies and deck builds you can go for. Also I just wanted to let you know that there was actually one way you could have survived at 39:27. If you sacrificed a squirrel to play the cat, and then sacrificed the cat and the other squirrel to play the wolf, the cat could have blocked one of the enemy cards while the wolf took out the other. The next turn the wolf would deal 3 damage directly, therefore also healing three damage, and then the two remaining enemy cards would deal 3 damage bringing you back to net 0. Then you just draw more squirrels to play more cards and do more damage, or you could even just use the squirrels to block and let the wolf slowly outdamage the enemy. The lesson to be learned here is that sometimes a card may seem relatively useless, but in very specific situations how you use that one card can be the difference between victory and defeat. Don't feel bad about this loss though, you did good for your first run and the more you learn the easier the game gets. Hope you enjoy the rest of the game!

I can think of a few scenarios where the Airborne ability could be *very* useful. Let’s say there’s terrain on the field, like at 8:34. Let’s say you place an Airborne card directly opposite of a Stump. The Airborne card won’t hit the stump, thus never killing it, and instead hit the opponent. Now, your opponent can never place a card where the stump is, because you never kill it. Now, you can get constant damage in without needing to worry about anything.

​@@Eden-kw1kw Bifurcated sigil does the same thing, doubles damage, and can also take out problematic cards whike staying out of harm's way (Like behind a stump). Plus, it can attack when there's a Grand Fir. All of that, and bifurcated cards onky have a 1 health difference from equivalent flying cards. Basically, flying is useless because bifurcates is way more versatile, and you can't kill an enemy card with them if you have to, while non-flying carda can both kill and hit face.

What you said is correct my friend, except there's a sigil called "Bifurcated strike" which is a perfect counter to that strategy. That is if the dude on the other side of the table decides to play a card bearing said sigil which can happen as it happened to me multiple times before. Not gonna say anything more tho, as you seem to be new to this game and i don't wanna spoil anything. Just know that there's a card ability that can counter that strat

YES! INSCRYPTION! I'd hate to have you abandon such an S++ tier game as some have, due to being unable to make it far, so I have some tips for you, in terms of the card game. Honestly, for your first time, you're playing very well. You're understanding very well the importance of lower cost cards and are making some good plays, but with this game you have to lose to learn how some things work. The best example of this is the prospector, since he kills all cards on your side of the field and replaces them with gold nuggets. You can play around this by winning with few cards with low value so you don't automatically lose your better cards. Be aware that while it's possible, the first 2 runs are intended to be losses. I've never seen a player starting out who has gotten past the hurdles that intend to make the first 2 runs fail. It's for tutorial purposes. Offense is the best defense. You notice in the video that because of the scale mechanic, you heal when you deal damage. Sometimes it's better to try and outdamage the dungeon master than to try and defeat his creatures. The sacrifice space allows for some shenanigans to ensue. There are certain sigils that play very well when put together. You read about the "Worthy Sacrifice" sigil in the rulebook, which gives three blood upon being sacrificed. Imagine that sigil on the cat. A bad example would be touch of death and airborne. Airborne isn't always bad because it can let you attack directly instead of attacking the dungeon master's cards. Touch of death relies on damaging his cards, so it doesn't work with airborne. You'll meet some crazy strong and very interesting sigils pretty soon in this game, so be thinking about combinations of sigils. This game is very, _very_ smart, so if you're thinking a pair of sigils interacts in a fun way, they will likely interact in that way. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with! I so hope that this becomes a full series!

Hey Merg, if you see this, here are some tips! Heads up, my knowledge is a bit rusty, but hopefully this can help some. - The Airborne sigil can be useful in ending a game faster. You attack the board instead of your opponent, adding more weights to the scale. It leaves you open to enemy attacks, but if you're in a tough spot, you can attempt to end the game faster using Airborne creatures. The amount of weight added equals the damage the creature can deal. The enemy can also use it to end the game faster as well though, so be careful. - It is possible to remove the cat from the board, but only if an enemy attacks it. - The overkill (the extra weights in the bowl) allows you to buy things in other areas. You can get these extra weights by doing more damage than is necessary to kill your opponent at the end of the turn. You want to do this whenever you possibly can. - For the survivors/campfire, your creatures should be safe for now. In later games, you have the opportunity to buff several times, but each time you buff increases the likelihood that the survivors will eat your creature. Also, when you asked about them eating the adder... the game is indeed that meta. - If you need more cards on the board, it's almost always best to draw and play a squirrel. This is what makes the backpack sites and squirrels in a bottle so good - you can have extra squirrels without ever having to use a turn to draw them. - Yeah... bosses in this game play pretty dirty. The best thing to do for them is to prepare and be ready for anything. One of the best things you can do in preparation is your items. Of course, don't be scared to use items in regular rounds, but don't use them willy-nilly either. It's all about strategizing. But also... be ready for anything. Sometimes, you won't be at all prepared for what they can do to you... I hope you have fun playing this Merg! This game is really fun and wildly creative, so I hope you're able to play the whole thing if you're feeling up to it! Edit: misremembered the way cards in this game are delt, that section was removed

The cost thing is untrue. The game always ensures you draw at leasy one card you can afford on turn one. If you just have ONE cars that costs one blood and it can reliably win you the gamd, either by dealing damage or allowing to comforably play all your lther cards...

39:45 The moment Merg put the wolf there, he's done for... If you actually think, when the wolf card putted one the right side, it will kill the card in front of it. And then because of that one perk card will move toward an empty one infront of a card. It will prioritize getting infront of the wolf and try to attack it, which is why it's a double edge sword. That way, Merg will have another chance to survive.

guardian isn't the same as burrower. the bloodhound only moves when a card is placed, and only if the space is empty. it wouldn't replace the coyote when it dies. he could've survived by placing a cat to take the hit tho.

39:43 You say the Raven sucks but it's the one card that would've saved your life. It would've dealt 2 damage to Leshy regardless of the Bloodhound due to the Flying Sigil and then blocked the Bloodhound's attack, then because the Raven dealt 2 to Leshy you would've survived the Coyote's attack. Flying is the exact opposite of useless.
