@@awkonradi I've heard gator mating calls before, in person. What this video is referring to are frequencies lower than we as humans can hear. It's referred to as infrasonic sound, or simply, infrasound. In addition to the audible noise they make, they are also producing frequencies which are so low and massively long in wavelength, they are capable of traveling extremely far distances across multiple mediums. Those are the frequencies which are causing the water to vibrate the most, as they are demonstrating in the video. Many aquatic animals use such frequencies, but we've also discovered that many land animals and birds also use them for communication.

Maybe they didn't want to mislead anyone into thinking what they were audibly hearing (had they presented the actual mating calls) was what was causing the water vibrations? 🤷‍♂️ Edit: upon listening closer with the volume louder, some of the calls can indeed be heard.
